My husband and I stopped here for a meal on our way back from a Valentine’s Day weekend in Galena. After skiing all day, the staff, service, and food here was friendly, prompt, and delicious. So inexpensive too! Definitely worth the stop. They will take great care of you :)
I realized the next day, an hour outside of Chicago, my wallet was missing. I called JJ’s to check if I left it at dinner. Not only did they have my wallet, but they mailed it to my house fully intact 2 days later. Thank you!!! Next time we’re that way, we will be stopping in to say thank you in person too. These are good people who go above and beyond for their customers.

We stopped here on the way back to Chicago and it was such a treat. The food was delicious — my companion went back to the salad bar at least three times. The entire establishment was very clean and our waitress was ever so friendly and attentive! The food came out quick, but you could tell it was all made fresh to order. I plan to stop by every time I am passing for business now!

I have been told the burgers are the best around by my husband– we will be heading to Stockton again soon to see if he’s right!

Shrimp po’boy a must have once again. Flavorful fried shrimp on a hoagie bun with a tangy sauce. Meat lovers will love the Big boy sandwich of a large hamburger pattie with shredded pork, grilled onions and cheese in a BBQ sauce that’s sets it off just right. Love the home made chips as a side. They also have waffle fries and other choices.

A place to stop by for some American food in Stockton, IL when everything else on the road is closed. However, I would not come for a 2^nd time even if the food is for free. We came here wanting to grab a bite to eat before we head back to Chicago. Well… we didn’t get to eat. We got our food to-​go just when it arrived on the table.
We ordered a burger and smothered chicken, which are all dishes that ain’t that complicated. The food, however, took 45 minutes to come out… We were so impatient by the time we were done that we left a $ 1.00 tip.
If you got time to waste, come. Otherwise, go to a fast food chain on the way back if you’re just looking for a quick snack.

Good place to dine on Rte 20. Been there twice in the past month. First time: pork chop sandwich, soup salad bar, bluegill dinner, mushroom swiss burger. Second time: burgers and cheese pizza. Very good Bloody Marys. Everything homemade, including pizza. Outstanding French fries.
Reasonable prices. Well prepared food. Not necessarily «destination» dining. Very friendly staff. Good roadside stop and Sports Bar.

A must stop in JoDaviess County. Great Food, Great Drinks, and Great Service. The Taco Pizza is my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Great place for great food and terrific atmosphere. This time we ordered the special, Tilapia, which was the best ever, and the rib eye steak. We both had the salad bar and the greatest soup, Loaded Potato. I could have finished the whole soup pot, it was that delicious!!!
We both had the mashed potatoes, which the chef makes with heavy cream and yukon golds and a little garlic. They were so good, I got a to-​go bag — for Potatoes!
The salad bar has enough but not tons, just right, and good for toddlers through adults. The desserts are unbelieveable. Cheesecake? Of course!
The service is fabulous, friendly and prompt. Prices are just fine, altho some may think they are a little high? Well, you get what you pay for, and I don’t think the prices are high at all. I treasure this restaurant and will continue going here, even tho I drive 38 miles to get there.
They have a handicapped ramp on the back door, restrooms are handy and there are two small side rooms that are great for families (keeps kid voices inside the room) and groups. Also an upstairs, not ADA but great for a bigger group or an event.
This restaurant, under the previous owners, had big tables and chairs with not much seating. But seating has been mixed with more tables and — bar seating! And TVs so you can watch your favorite game. One of the specials recently was a Blackhawk Burger for the Hawk game that night, it was immense and really awesome. Plenty of room to sit at bar and eat with friendly people and great service.
This restaurant needs to stay here, it is truly a gem. And it has truly great pizze, available an hour after the grill closes. Try this place and you will LOVE IT!!!

Stopped by for lunch on a Wednesday… Beautiful log cabin building, nice bar area, flat screen TV’s and a warm friendly atmosphere! The menu has a bit of something for everyone. I ordered the Rueben and it was delicious, my girlfriend had the Shrimp Po Boy served with homemade chips… Yum! Portions were large, presentation was beautiful and the service was fantastic… Great place to stop for some quality eats… Since it was my first time in, the owner, Jay, even came over to see how my meal was… How cool is that! I will be back!

Very friendly and great atmosphere. Soups are homemade and delicious! Husband had a chicken breast sandwich with corned beef, sauteed mushrooms and cheese and I had a cheeseburger. Both where very good as well as the salad bar!

Great food! Excellent service! Best addition to Stockton food scene! Delicious taco pizza, pepperoni pizza, chicken strips.
