Let me start by saying that the only reason im giving 1 star is because if ur buying something they regularly make it could be fine and i had been going here for years but stoped because of a sandwich that i thrown together sloppily. …but thought i could give them a chance for my birthday cake it was truely my mistake my polka-dot gift box cake with a bow came out looking like a lop sided dice and the bakers only response was«oh u wanted it to look like the picture we had you email to us so we could know exactly what u wanted» thanks but no thanks… my advice to anyone is go somewhere where ur special day means its special to them too…

The key lime pie is atrocious! If it had been the first key lime pie I’d ever tasted, I would never eat key lime pie again. Thankfully I know what real key lime pie is supposed to taste like. The other stuff was OK at best. The chocolate mousse cake was nothing special and did not taste very fresh. The Oreo cookie cake was even worse. Both suffered from dryness, too firm of a texture, and not enough flavor. I would prefer a box of ding dongs to be frank. Not only do they not post the names of any of the products, they don’t even know what some of the stuff is — like the peach and raspberry pie. They do not post prices for their products so you have to ask what everything costs. This gets old after you ask a couple of times. Back in 2014 when I used to get their desserts from the farmers market everything was much better. The difference between what I had at the store this week and what I used to get in 2014 is astonishing. The prices are low but unfortunately I have to say the same for the quality.

This place has the best cream puffs! We also order a lot of their cakes and they are all delicious! My favorite is their mango cake.

Stopped in after seeing the rave reviews and am kind of on the fence. They have a really great selection of baked goodies and the pricing was the cheapest I’ve ever seen it at a bakery! The only con was everything I bought(cookies/tart/croissant/brownie) were pretty dry in texture. But based on the pricing, selection size and how nice the people were I would try it again.

Madison!!! Thank you for answering dozens of questions and ghetto us excited to order everything. We will definitely be back for a lunch pastrami sandwich in Dutch crunch. Florentine rolls, Canoli, chocolate chip horns, crime brûlée and more. Yaaaaaaum. Oh, and pair it with coffe. The smell in here needs to be a candle I can take home =]

This was the best bakery in town, until a new owner took over. Cake order never on time, cake taste different and brand new staff who has so much communication problems! Staff took my order over the phone and the next day i picked up cake and wrong size! Unorganized new staff that needs much more improvement.

I gave it 5 starts after my first cake purchase. The last couple of times the cakes seem to fall apart(crumble) and don’t have much flavor. Still an ok cake.

Let me start out by saying they literally have the best pastries, cakes and cookies on the planet! I recently got my wedding cake here and they were so affordable, arrived on time, and were so patient as I checked in on every little detail of my order. I will continually come here whenever I have a sweet tooth or when we have guests coming over and need a dessert or fresh loaf of french bread. Coming here is like having family baking for you! Thank you M&W!!!

I would love to give 4 or 5 stars because their pastries are so delicious however, today’s purchase was fairly disappointing. I usually buy myself a couple treats from their booth at the Farmer’s Market(Sunday’s behind the Webberstown Mall) but I had a craving mid-week. Today was my first visit to the brick and mortar location. It’s very small but welcoming. I even saw that they offer deli sandwiches and fresh baked bread! A must try in the future but today, I was all about sweet treats and only interested in desserts. The staff seemed nice enough, nothing critical to report. The pastry selection was slim but understandable as it was toward the end of the day. I bought a few items for the fam to have after dinner. A couple German Chocolate Puff Pastries, a cream horn, and the item I had the biggest craving for: the Hungarian walnut and raspberry layer cake. Yum, right?! One problem, the raspberry layers are burned! :(Completely different taste and texture from the piece I ate this past weekend. Instead of a beautiful deep pink hue, the raspberry seriously looks black:/ I’m so disappointed. Anyone of the staff should simply looked at the cake and been able to recognize it was very over-baked and not worthy of selling. Sorry to sound like such a whiner but I’m pregnant and was craving this confection all day. Wanted to enjoy this cake as my dessert tonight and it’s just a big disappointment. I’m going to call the bakery in the morning and see about a refund or exchange of the burnt cake. We’ll see how their customer service is when put to the test…

So yummy and inexpensive! Lots of treats to choose from — cakes, cookies, pastries, fresh breads, etc. The staff was very friendly and the place is small and cute.

I am surprised that I did not find this place earlier. I came here with a group of friends because on of them really recommended their sandwiches. The store itself doesn’t have much in terms of decorations, but they make up for that with a wide variety of pastries and cakes. There are too many for me to even name, but my friend and I ended up getting 2 slices of cakes, one espresso and one mocha. We thought that both were good, but the espresso one tasted better. As for sandwiches, I got a turkey sandwich on a french roll. The sandwich ended up costing me less than 4 dollars, and it was delicious! The sandwich didn’t have too much seasoning, and they didn’t skimp on the deli meat. Something else that’s noteworthy, is their good customer service, since they try their best to service you as soon as possible. We came in as a group of 4, and they serviced all of us in no time.

I live not too far from my school, so I was visiting my friends, who are still attending school(UOP pharmacy school) in Stockton, for the day. They surprised me with a birthday gift, which included a cake from this place. I’m not here to complain about the texture or taste(which I would give 3 stars). I’m here to complain about the appearance of the cake. My friends got a layered white log cake, with chocolate frosting in between, covered in chocolate ganache. They are really busy with grad school and came to pick up the cake around 30min before the planned pickup time. The owner said«the professional decorator is coming in and could do the writing on the cake.» Obviously they took this offer, since the person was a «professional decorator.» Back home, we opened the box and I truthfully think it was the worst icing job I have ever seen on a cake. Dollar Tree or Food4Less had better cake writing. Or better cakes in general. It looked like a first grader wrote it. I appreciate my friends for going through the effort to get the cake personalized. For the taste and texture being decent, I’m giving this place 2 stars. I’m writing this review simply because I would hate to have someone order a special occasion cake from here and have it look as bad as my birthday cake did. ***side note: «Yiffs» was a random nickname given to me years ago and it somehow stuck lol

Put in my order at 0800 and had a marble cake with chocolate mousse filling whipped cream topping by noon. The cake was so moist, not overly sweet, and delicious– people could stop talking about the cake. It didn’t have much decoration; which was fine. I believe they have the best red velvet cake you’ll ever have.(P.s. Don’t get just one slice– but a whole cake)

Phoned in an order for 5 dozen cream puffs, when i picked them up they had been boxed in two boxes each puff had its own little paper(very nice, last time they had all been stacked all together making it hard to plate) picked up two large cream puffs and cookies and a carrot and red velvet cup cake… around $ 26 out the door. Kids loved the goodies, work loved the creampuffs! And we liked the large creampuffs(not as good as the littles ones). Go to place for desserts, when i ordered the creampuffs the lady mentioned they have flavored ones will have to try that next time! Very friendly service!

It’s a small place but a place who can specialize on customization of cakes. You couldn’t tell from the outside of this establishment that it is a place you must get some kind of dessert. But once you walk inside you see all the accolades they have been featured in and they hold up to their reputation. The ladies in the front counter helped me and my fiancée pick a cake for celebration. Since it is custom cake they had a list of all the different things they can make and do. We settled with a marble cake with banana cream in one layer with light frosting on top. Oh they can give you sprinkles on the side in a cup if your fiancée decides to not want any on the cake! For only $ 35 bucks we got a great size cake that I know if Cake Boss did it it would’be have been triple times the amount. They have other treats that looked very tasty to try but unfortunately did not get any. Unfortunately they do not have ice cream cake but for a person who does not really like to eat cake I finished my piece with ease.

They had tons of different desserts and fresh baked breads. The crème brûlée was super delicious. I would go back there just for those. The macarons were all cracked and broken. I wasn’t impressed. They were opened early am. That’s a plus for me.

So for my 200th review on Unilocal yaayyy. M & W Dutch American Bakery on Pacific Ave in Stockton, California. Note: My review is ment for the service I received and the excellent sandwiches I had and soup. A few days ago I was looking for someplace new and a good sandwich. Searching for my next review, so I decided to come here for a quick lunch. As I walked in, I was quickly greeted by Leslie. I knew what I wanted but was taking my time scanning the menu. Note: Service by Leslie was excellent and you all know me, I always praise workers. Note: I didn’t get a too much of chance to snap some photos of the baked goods. Note: outside seating is available. Note: No public restrooms. Major league tip: Sandwiches and soup are sold here besides Cakes and baked goods. Pro Tip: Takes credit, Atm and cash. I decided on the full $ 4.25 Pastrami on Dutch crunch with veggies $ 1 for a bottle water $ 2.75 Navy bean soup and some $ 1.36 bag of chips. So I looked around for a seat and it’s like a café style inside. So I chose to sit in the front and wait for my meal to arrive. I received my sandwich first I took a look and was very impressed. I love sandwiches a lot, probably my third favorite type of food behind Pizza and chips. Next up was the Navy bean soup, I’m not going to lie to kick it. I’m not much of soup fan with sandwiches. So I went with it and really did enjoy it a lot. So I left with a great impression on my first visit. On my second visit I was greeted again by Leslie and she said«Oh you came back with a great big smile» I’m a simple person and this type of stuff does it for me. So I ordered a $ 3 half Black forest ham with veggies on sourdough bread and some $ 1.36 bag of chips. I really did like the sandwich, it tasted so much better when I added chips to it. So yes I did have a wonderful time here. That’s all that matters because I make my life very easy and simple. Most definitely I’ll be coming back, I’m not big on sweets so it’ll just be for the sandwiches. Good job to all the people who work here and a super thank you to Leslie. :) Vincent D aka VD aka Vebola. Enjoying the simple things in life.

First time here and I’m already impressed. New comers may get flustered at first but the staff are friendly, helpful, and especially patient. I came here for my lunch break around 11:30am and I was immediately captivated by the sight of the pastries and aroma of the baked breads, but, for today I decided to fill my stomach with a customized half sandwich, which included a french roll stuffed with turkey breast, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and mustard — all for $ 2.75. Note, a HALF sandwich costs $ 2.75, which is ironic since this«half» sandwich is actually just a regular sized sandwich. The WHOLE sandwich is $ 4.75 and appears more like the ones you see at Subway; well, not exactly, but you get my point. And you can’t eat a sandwich without a drink and chips, which was only an additional $ 1.10 for the two together, and with tax my total came out to be only $ 4.20, which was definitely worth it. Sadly, I was so full that I didn’t have room for desserts, but I definitely will come back and attempt again!
