The best BBQ I have had in a long time! I can not remember the last time I have had as good as this. The Brisket was excellent savory you know the quality from the first bite. Loaded with meat and pickled veggies on a fresh brioche bun. Also got the fresh cut fries and deviled eggs with meat! I already know this my new go to BBQ in NJ. Worth the drive and the wait. The scenic area in this beautiful farm market offers every thing the epicurean palate desires. If you know BBQ don’t miss more than Q.

I had a big party and MTQ catered our event. The Brisket was a huge hit and the Pulled Chicken was perfectly cooked. Matt set me up with everything I needed to feed a big party and then some! I would definitely recommend More Than Q for either eating @ the market or ordering for a catered event.

I always thought that, like other regional delicacies(Creole food in New Orleans, New York bagels, etc) that after I left Memphis, TN, I would never again experience true blue barbecue unless I returned to The Bluff City. And for what it’s worth, I’ve also tried Nashville and Texas barbecue, so there are a few other points of perspective. More Than Q is unbelievable. So unbelievable, in fact, that I’ll go on record to say that it’s the best BBQ I’ve had outside of Memphis. The slaw is vinegar(not mayonaise)-based which makes for a great, tangy counter-texture to the pulled barbecue’s savory flavor. The cucumbers are crunchy and the beans are slow-cooked and sweet. The secret weapon is the bread. Served either on a slider or a full-sized roll, they use buttery brioche instead of your standard«hamburger roll,» which ties it all together! I try to get out there every few weeks. One of my favorite hidden Jersey Gems!

The guys at More Than Q have the art of subtlety mastered. They make a beautifully smoked brisket with a dry rub. Tender and tasty, seasoned just right — not over-salted and not layered in sauce, so the natural smoky flavors shine through. No sauce needed. You can order it by the pound, in a sandwich, or simply bun-less. Their cornmeal fried chicken defies the laws of physics — very light and crispy on the outside, devoid of oiliness, and yet super succulent on the inside. The Sriracha mayo dipping sauce added just the right amount of tanginess. The sides are not mere plate fillers out of a jar — they are truly highlights of the meal. Pickled onions, pickled cucumbers, cole slaw were fresh, cool, crisp, perfect. The collard greens were lovely, al dente with just a hint of garlic and a hint of bacon.

Had lunch here today the Stockton farmers market a great weekend menagerie of food vendors. I have had more than Q three times prior. I had the pulled pork with the creamy coleslaw on a roll. I did buy a side of the baked beans with the burnt ends to take home. Pork was very good as well as the coleslaw. I found the regular barbecue sauce to be lacking any taste really. I did find their new mustard BBQ sauce was decent. I was not a fan of the rolls they use for the sandwiches. The quality is excellent but the prices are beyond comprehension for normal BBQ. At quality places up and down the eastern seaboard I am used to paying from 7 to 11 dollars for a huge sandwich and two sides. I was prepared to take home much more than I did but not at those prices.

One of the greatest things about getting married across the river in New Hope this June, is knowing that I have amazing BBQ close by. Have gotten to go to More Than Q a handful of times, and have been far from dissappointed. Always seem to order more than I can handle. The brisket and pulled pork are to die for, as are the made to order mac and cheese and collards. I haven’t seemed to order anything else because it is just that good. Regardless of your geographic bbq preference, you won’t be disappointed with the smoked meat in Stockton, NJ.
