Taqueria El Grullense

Simple, clean, no frills taqueria. Same name as the taqueria in downtown Lodi — but much simpler. No salsa bar or grilled onions and jalapeños — so had to take a star off for that. But kudos for helping me with my odd order request. Not eating tortillas or bread for a month (Whole30 diet) so they put together a simple plate for me that I could turn into a salad. The pastor was good — and they supposed all the trimmings.
Will be worth a try down the road when I can have a real taco or torta.

I had high hopes based on other reviews, but I was sadly disappointed. Simply put, the meat was gross, and the salsa was not good either.

This is my favorite place for tacos in Stockton. Hands down the best tacos. The burritos are pretty good too but I come here strictly for the tacos. Cool place and the employees are always nice

I love this place! The tacos oh so yum yum. Ask for the tortilla a little extra crispy! If you get in early enough on the weekend you can get some of the best menudo or pozole. My orders are usually either 3 tacos, either tripas extra crispy or asada con todo, salsa verde, tortillas a little extra crispy. So I like the tripas and the tortilla crispy (neither are yummy soggy). Weekends I get pozole and tacos

BEST PLACE TO GET A BURRITO IN STOCKTON HANDS DOWN! Their supreme burritos are a must and their red salsa is mouthwatering! Service is pretty good not the best but they do remember if you become a regular. Other than the horrible stench coming from the sewer outside the restaurant its my top favorite taco/​burrito place to go to.

Great food, reasonable fees. I Like the refills on drinks. It is also fast service and friendly staff. It’s a great local spot for a quick bite to eat.

Best mexican food spot in stockton. If you are into street mexican food truck style food, this is all you. And the dining area is nice no complaints.

The food here is about the best Mexican food in Stockton. But honestly, I prefer the truck that parks on Hunter St until noon then goes to El Dorado near Harding. The driver/​cook is Sergio and a hell of a nice guy. He also builds burritos so big that not many can finish. Awesome!

GREAT taco truck style tacos and burritos. I get the carne asada burrito with both red and green sauce, extra lime, extra cilantro.
PS. Their pork quesadillas are huge and delicious.

I was told great things about this place and was so disappointed. I ordered tacos. What I got were tortillas with meat.
No onions. No Cilantro. No salsa. I’m really not sure what I paid for. The meat itself was good (not the carnitas. They were terrible), but it really was nothing to celebrate with just meat and tortillas. I will not be returning.
My favorite place for Tacos is Tito’s Taco Truck anyways.

In the neighborhood for the first time on business and had no idea where to go. Unilocal delivered again. Had the asada and al pastor tacos. Both amazing, especially with the hot sauce.

So I’m giving a 3 star because the first time I went to the place was for lunch about month ago it was really really good I had the super burrito with chicken everything in it and red sauce. It was amazing! The chicken was not dry at all super good and the whole burrito was just right. It really hit my hungry man spot thumbs up to them! And so I came here a second time for lunch today and I was excited to get some good Mexican food so I ordered a carne asada super burrito with everything in and man was I disappointed. The burrito was sloppy I had a hole in my burrito and the tortilla was unwrapping and it was super dry too much rice in the burrito without some kind of cream or cheese the rice made it very dry. It just really needed some more cream and or cheese it would have been ok. But who knows maybe next time I go it will be great like the first. Oh and other things about the location the staff was nice the guy who took our order and the window guy who calls out your number location it’s self was ok your just right on busy Wilson way close to the recycling place so it’s very busy streets and slot of people walking by.

Ahh LOVE THIS PLACE! In love all the guys that work here, they always take care of me and my fiancé, very friendly and the food is fast and delicious everytime !!! Una cerveza mas por favor ;-)

Best damn Mexican food in the country! As a traveler, I’m always looking for something even close to this place, and haven’t found it yet. Tacos and burritos rock, but everything is great here.

This place is wonderful! From customer service to the food! My old co workers and I like to come here a lot, it’s only 6 of us and they have always welcomed us with a smile and treated us wonderfully. We usually stay to close and they never have kicked us out or turn the lights off on us for being there so late. One time one from our group forgot his wallet and the cashier let him eat first before he drove home to go get his cash (he felt too guilty and still went home first to retrieve it). Amazing service, staff and food! We love to order up the tacos! My personal favorite is a Torta de asada with everything. Jalapenos are on point, I usually eat them whole! Great place!

Very very good sopes. And great prices on burritos. I love the mild sauce it’s hotter then the hot sauce

It used to be a good place. The prices have increased and now they even worry about what use to be free. The salsa, lemons and jalapenos. I understand economy has forced many business to increase prices but this is ridiculous. Besides their prices already reflect the increase on the economy. I been there a couple of times and I ask for estra salsa and because I order the food to go they don’t put extra salsa. And when I ask the guy for extra salsa he just stares at you and try not to give you any at all or as few as possible.
Im very dissapointed and I will not eat there any more. Besides i really dont understand why the parking lot smells like shit.

Pros: Cheap, delicious, friendly, authentic.
Cons: bad area (I’ve never had a problem, but I always come with my husband and our friends), the parking lot does indeed smell like sh@!.
In the end, the pros far outweigh the cons for me every time. Gimme those tacos and some horchata! *drooling*
