This place is amazing!!! OMG! I’m so sad that they left Stockton! The owner was super cool and service was great. I love how they serve beer at a deli! I always ordered the Surfinbird! The sandwiches are massive and pricing is average! You definitely get what you pay for! I’m hoping they come back! If not guess I’ll have to travel for a great sandwich! Yummm!

A friend and I went to the Beach Hut Deli. The food was giant sized. I don’t remember the name of the sandwich but it involved pulled pork(mmmm pork). Add to that a yummy beer and well… it was delicious. Not only that, but the staff was great. The owner even came over to chat a bit with us as we finished up our meal. Definitely would go back. Highly recommend it if you want a good sandwich and a cool beer to wash it all down. Oh yeah, my friend is a vegetarian and she was quite happy with the selection and her food as well.

AMAZING everything! Marley Nachos are my favorite. It’s a shame that their business hours are so limited, makes it nearly impossible to get there sometimes :(

Pretty good selection of deli type sandwiches with tons of combinations of ingredients. All of the sandwiches that I’ve tried are really good and big. A little pricey, but satisfying. They have a decent list of beers(for Stockton). I think that they have about a dozen taps. Always a few Stone beers, High Water Brewing, etc. The problem with this place is, I think there’s been a tap problem EVERY time I’ve been there. Flat beer, over-carbonation, even the wrong beer(I’m positive the High Water Retribution that I ordered poured out a Red. Definitely NOT Retribution). The people that work there are all very nice, I love the sandwiches, and good beer selection, but only hope that they get their act together with the taps.

This place is amazing! the sandwiches are HUGE and What’s more… delicious! You don’t have to pick and choose and add all of the extras, there are tons of sandwiches with all of the bacon and avocado in the recipes. Also a great place to hear local music and get good beer. Would recommend this place to anyone. I always stop in when I’m in town. It’s a must!

I ordered a small sandwich, but the smalls are pretty massive. It was a cranberry and cream cheese with turkey. Mega meaty, huge sandwich.

Location, Location, Location! Right next to theater! The place itself is really nice. decked out with beach themes(duh). I usually come here with a friend and usually just hang out here. I never feel that I need to rush myself. Great late afternoon hang out! The food is also tasty. My usual order are the Nachos! it’s a lot so expect to share with someone. However, if you can finish it by yourself, go for it! Beers are served by the liter and that’s plenty.

As you first walk in you’ll see the sandwich counter that is shaped into a beach hut with surfboard as tables and reggae music playing inside. The décor really lives up to the name and Beach Hut Deli is a nice spot to grab a quick bite to eat. I ordered the Skinny Dipper which is basically a roast beef dip sandwich and comes with its own au jus! I ordered the small which was around $ 8, which is a tad expensive for a small sandwich. However, as I finishing up the last few delectable bites, I realized that I was pretty full. Solid sandwiches and friendly staff :)

Oh, how I love this place. I love the vibe inside. They’ve got surf board tables under island hut booths, frisbee trays, and island music. Their sandwiches are exceptionally fantastic. I haven’t tried everything in their menu, but the ones I have tried, I’ve never been disappointed with. My usual there is the Beach Bikini which consists of turkey, cranberry sauce, cream cheese, sunflower seeds, alfalfa sprouts, and mayo. So scrumptious! nom… nom… =) The one I had the other day was their Beach BBQ with chicken(or roast beef) drenched in bbq sauce, melted provolone(or your choice of cheese), with onions and peppers… mmmm makes me salivate just writing about it. haha. They definitely know how to do sandwiches!

Beach Hut has the BEST sandwiches EVER! My personal favorite is the Santa Cruz… Chef salad is wonderful too… Fresh and always a great serving… They also have a great variety of beer and not to mention an awesome margarita! Employees are always happy and cheerful… Great, clean place when wanting a great sandwich!

Chose this over Quiznos. Good call. Surfboards for tables, Hawaiian hut themed-booths, and pinball machines. Oh, and a huge menu of hot & cold sang-whiches. I picked the Shark Bite: Canadian Ham, Swiss cheese, cream cheese, BBQ sauce, hickory BACON!, lettuce, tomato on garlic sourdough. Looked amazing(see pic). Tasted even better. The cream cheese &BBQ were a unique pairing. And of course I’m a sucker for thick-cut hickory bacon. Extra points for Cherry Coke on tap. Don’t plan on visiting Stockton much, but when I do I have to swing by here again. Will try the Surfin’ Bird, Pig Kahuna or The Spicoli next time. Can’t wait.

Number one reason to go to Beach Hut: Refreshing beers on tap! While wandering near the movie theater downtown trying to find a place to drink beer at 3:30 in the afternoon, I looked through the window of BHD, saw the beer tap levers, and thus began our post-work ritual. We always get the Tangerine(wheat) pitcher for $ 12. The Apricot is also tasty. Number two reason: Delicious food with generous portions! We share the nachos amongst 4+ people and it’s more than enough! Avocados on almost everything! We’ve tried at least 5 of their sandwiches and they are all delicious. Our favorite right now is the philly cheese steak. Number three reason: Owners Tom and Nikki! Probably on par with the number one reason to go to Beach Hut. The owners are super friendly and chill. All the staff are welcoming and pleasant. They recognize and remember you after a couple visits. The atmosphere is laid back; a great place to drink/eat with friends and the location is a fun place to people-watch.

I’m giving this place four stars for the quality of the food and the variety of sandwiches they have on their menu. The menu has a very very wide variety of sandwiches(most of them involve cream cheese) that are super tasty! I got the«Santa Cruz» which had Pastrami, Cream cheese, Avocado, Bacon, and all the veggies on Garlic Cheddar Sourdough bread. Delicious! I also tried my friend’s «The Drakester» which was turkey with melted pepperjack cheese, cream cheese, and roasted chili peppers. The Santa Cruz one was better in my opinion because the Drakester was WAYYY too much cheese for me. But all in all, very delicious. Huge portions, they give you a HUGE stack of meat. Fast service, clean, and courteous. I only ate half and I was super full. Would come here again to try the rest of the menu. One downside is that we showed up kind of late so they only had garlic cheddar sourdough bread left. It was still really good but I would have liked to have had more options in choosing bread, I’ll be sure to show up earlier next time. If you’re in the area, give this place a try! You won’t be disappointed!

If you’re looking for a great hot dog or sandwich, Beach Hut knows how to do it. The place doesn’t look like much on the outside because it is in downtown Stockton, but you will be surprised once you walk in. I went into Beach Hut Deli with a mission and that was to find a hot dog. I was craving one all day and I wanted to grab one before I went to the movie theater. At the theater I would spend five whole dollars on one hot dog. God forbid that! But I paid the same price for a hot dog at Beach Hut *SIGH*… But it was one of the best hot dog I’ve had in a while. The produce that came with my order tasted fresh and the hot dog had so much flavor and was cooked just right. The ladies at the deli were really sweet and even put my food in a container so I can take it inside the theaters. So nice! The place looked like something you would find on the coast of Southern California. Covered with surf memorabilia like surfboards and posters. Very mellow atmosphere. I would definitely come back to the deli and maybe bring some friends too!

I was really impressed with this place. It’s located right next to the Downtown Stockton movie theatre, and is the perfect place to go if you work here or are seeing a movie. The style inside is great. You almost feel like you’re in a surf shop on the beach with the surfboard tables, kickin’ music that’s not too loud, and ordering stand with palm trees and the like. I ordered a medium pastrami which turned out to be HUGE. Not in length, mind you, but in the amount of meat stacked high on this thing, then coupled with whatever fixin’s you want. Mine had avocado and cream cheese, some mayo, lettuce, tomato, and a little onion and it was fantastic. And huge. It may have been only an 8″ sandwich, but it was as thick as it was wide*! I was pleased that they have a soda fountain with plenty of choices(Pepsi brand) including two Lipton Tea choices, and of course free refills. The students working here were really friendly, and although they chattered a bit it didn’t bother me. It made it more personable. They didn’t take long making my sandwich, either, but I was the only customer there at the time. There’s an outdoor patio but I dined inside ’cause it was pretty cold. And a pleasant surprise: free wi-fi! I was able to jump online in seconds and it was speedy. I am definitely looking forward to going back to this place. Oh, and if yo’ure a Pacific student, you can pay here with PacifiCash. *Slight exaggeration.

We were here for the Asparagus Festival and stopped in for a sandwich. The sandwiches were huge and fairly tasty even though the quality of the pastrami was nowhere near Togo’s quality. The employees were friendly. The reason for the two stars are as follows: 1. The place seemed dingy on the inside. It was stuffy and didn’t look like cleanliness was job one. 2. The patio was the only option(see #1) and the tables and chairs were so cheap that beer was constantly spilling and the low-slung chairs were not at all good for eating. When I lived in San Diego, there were dozens of places like this so I like this kind of thing. But they’re missing something(Formula 409? Fresh pastrami?). I might go two and a half stars but seeing the cursor over that third star and the ‘A-OK’ staring at me… well, just couldn’t do it.

Although I’ve lived in Stockton all my life, I don’t think I’ve ever been in the downtown area at lunchtime. This opportunity was afforded to me by the good people at the SJ County courthouse who wanted me there to sit in the jury pool. So I roamed around a bit and checked out the area near the movie theater. The much-heralded arrival of(taxpayer assisted) Paragary’s did me no good as they don’t seem to open for lunch. There were a few choices. Not in the mood for Americanized Chinese food or burgers, I happened across The Beach Hut Deli. It’s a chain from around the Sacramento area. Their website listed franchise information. Looks like a good concept place. Sandwiches, pizza, beer etc. A welcome change from the tired old Subway vs Quiznos debate. Great sandwiches and they put what they want on it. No Jarred trying to inspire you. No Quiznos ads trying to show how innovative they’re trying to be with crazy sauces. It was like refreshing to see something simple done so well. It made me miss my favorite childhood sandwich shop The Yellow Submarine(yeah it was dingy, but I didn’t know about health codes back then) which has been gone for a long time. There was another sandwich place I liked. I can’t remember the name. It was on Pacific next the to the Music Box. It’s a Mexican place now. Anyway, back to the Beach Hut. I liked the surf /beach hut décor. If I worked in the downtown area I could see myself eating here for lunch regularly. I’ll have to come back here next time I’m here to see a movie. They have free Wi-Fi here which I’m using to write this review. Pretty handy.
