Tocumbo Mexican Ice Cream

Came here often when i was a student and in those days this place only served ice cream.
Now they have all kinds of goodies in addition to their yummy ice cream.
Mangonada:
The mango chunks were a mix of goood juicy mango and hard mango :(veryyyyyy disappointing. those chunks were tough and sour and light in color bc the mango was too young still.
Also, the mango-​ice purée part is red. I don’t like it that it’s blended w. chamoy or whatever sauce that gives it that color. It really took away the mango taste. Just leave the mango alone as it is.
This was my 2^nd mangonada ever. I wish i knew where i had my first mangonada. That one was sooo good!!! Sweet mango chunks all around and the most perfect mango-​ice blend ever.
Unfortunately i got it at a festival at the fair grounds and can’t remember the business.
Guy behind me ordered nachos which sounded good. I love nachos. So simple.
I’ll be back to try their other stuff but won’t be getting another mangonada from here.

Okay so like I stated previously I only come here for their piña coladas or on rare occasion a mangonada. Today they were all out of piña coladas and every other drink they offer. So I decided to try their chicharron preparado. Their customer service isn’t the most inviting but then again it isn’t like I go to make friends. The chicharron was passable, I’ve had better at flea markets (the one on El Dorado to be specific). The lady preparing it didn’t spread the sour cream on the chicharron like they tend to do in other places, instead she drizzled a thin (& when I mean thin, I mean thin) «z» like shape across. The vegetables that seem like they were leftovers from the day before hardly had tomato or chile. Don’t get me started on the cheese, they must take it out of her paycheck. Basically I got a chicharron with a good amount of pork rinds and cabbage. By the way don’t expect avocado on your chicharron preparado. One star for their piña colada (when they actually have it) and the other for their mangonadas; the only two reasons I’ll be going back.

My very first time coming here to get a mangonada and it has no taste at all i had to stop eatting it to make this review, this magonada is nothing compared to the mangonada at Rancho San Miguel and there price is 2 dollar less then this place, this place charge you 5 dollars for each mangonada, if you really want a really good mangonada i suggest you go to Rancho San Miguel you won’t regret it your going to thank me. :) PS. — the one star i had to give it a star just to have my reveiw posted.

I love this place! Delicious ice cream flavors, Popsicles, and fruit concoctions. Plus tacos! The prices are good too. Do you love ice cream and Mexican taqueria food? Then this is your place.
Also for those traditional ice cream lovers, Tocumbo has your classic ice cream flavors covered. I like the exotic myself, but I hear from reliable sources that their cookies and cream is simply amazing.
Stockton is lucky to have such delicious!

I first came here a few years ago with my family since we lived near holiday park this was our favorite place to pass by.
Although this place did traumatize me with their ‘cheese’ ice cream which is goat milk cheese, I now loathe cheese.
Prices are decent, they have a really good vanilla flavored ice cream. This place always brings back good memories and I definitely can’t wait to come back when I visit my family.

I came here for the legendary mangonada, and man was it da bomb, it’s definitely worth trying. My mom was with me that day and she wanted ice cream. She decided to go with the nieve de Nuez (nut ice cream). Trust me I know that «nut» ice cream sounds boring, but no the hell it wasn’t. It was probably the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted. It didn’t taste like normal kind, it tasted like they added an extra ingredient to the ice cream that made it 5x better than your average. The other flavors are good too, but that nut ice cream was distinct, and heavenly. Anyways another one of my favorite things they have there is the coco loco. They take a young coconut, open the top and pour all the juice out. They then fill it with with cucumber slices, pineapple slices and strawberry slices. After, they drizzle chamoy, sprinkle tajin, and spiced tamarind, and also Japanese nuts. Finally, they stick a tamanlorin straw in there as well as a cute little lime umbrella. I love this! My mom thinks the coco loco in particular is pricey ($ 7.99) but you also get the fresh coconut water with it (hella refreshing), and the soft coconut you get to spoon off the inside. I will be visiting this place again because I love everything I’ve tried and I’m sure I’ll love anything else I try.

Cheap ice cream, but great quality! Coming here reminds me of the Mexican ice cream I used to get back home but much better.
They have a variety of unique flavors here so I opted for the more interesting ones. I got queso (which surprisingly, isn’t too bad) and raspberry and butter? Cream? I forget right now. Both of them were good, but I wish I had gotten them in smaller sizes because they’re a little bit too fatty to have too much of! But otherwise, the texture is creamy and the flavors are really well-​developed. Would come back again!

The mangonadas are super delicious and the tostilocos are to die for! I always come here whenever my Mexican cravings kick in

So ridiculously good. Too many choices. I wish I had like 3 different stomachs to fill with this food. Lol. The tostilocos were so good I almost regretted sharing a bag with my bf. This was my first time trying them and I regret nothing. I also got it with Valentina sauce, I think Tapatio would’ve been too much. The Mangonadas were so fresh and yummy. I think it’s gonna become a new Tuesday tradition for us!

Best ice cream in Stockton. They have really great flavors.
My personal favorite is maguey. When I lived in Mexico, we made smoothies with this fruit and I used to love it! Sadly, when we moved to the U.S., it was incredibly hard to find the fruit and it was really expensive. So, when I found out they had maguey ice cream, I purchased it immidiately and my taste buds took a trip back to my childhood. Whenever I can, I got to Tocumbo.
Their ice cream perfectly captures the taste and creaminess of maguey. The other flavors that I enjoy are Rose, Chongos Samoranos (like a dulce de leche), and tequila. Don’t miss out!

I love this little place. It has rich and flavorful ice cream. They serve other foods like burritos, quesadillas, taco, nachos, bur I’m reviewing their ice cream. I love their strawberry ice cream. Pretty much all the flavors are good. I tried their rose petal ice cream that had actual bits or rose pedals, it was light, not too sweet, but does give you that satisfying sweetness you want when eating ice cream. I also like that they serve elote or corn with the mayo, cheese, and chili powder! I grew up buying them from the men with the carts so it’s like a comfort food. I want to try everything on their menu. Oh, the workers are very nice so that’s a plus!

Great service and for those delicious spicy cravings!!! Fruit and chile, best combo. The place is a little small and could be loud if you come on the weekend. There are many great Mexican made ice cream.

One of the best Mexican Ice Cream shops in town. my favorite is Nieve De Queso and Petalos de rosa esta bueno tambien. also their chicle ice cream is soo good, mijo loves it, but of course nothing compares to the queso ice cream, it reminds me of the ice cream my grandpa used to make back in mexico awww :). They also have chicharrones con cueritos (my favorite ones) tambien tienen mangonadas, fresas con crema, tostilocos, pepinos locos y otros antojos que hacen que la boca se te haga agua. :) Portions are good for the price and the STAFF IS SUPER FRIENDLY which is awesome so if you are around the area GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY. love it :)

Super good! Had to take home the tostilocos AND pepinos locos. Haven’t had such good original tasting Mexican junk food in a long time. The service was great! The girl that helped us really made going there an experience. Loved it!

Home of the best mangonada in Stockton!
Up until recently, I’d never really enjoyed chamoy– until I had it blended together with mango in a flurry of awesomeness that is a mangonada. A small is $ 5 but the quality is excellent. Real pieces of fresh sliced mango, never frozen. And they don’t skimp out. If you can get past the bits of mango «fuzz» (the stuff you find close to the seed when you peel a mango) in the ice cream, you’ll love it. I had a bit of it in mine. I’m not even sure it’s ice cream so much as a frozen mango purée. It’s not too sweet at all and so delicious! My only complaint is that there was a bit too much chamoy on the bottom, which got soupy and a little salty, and I would have just preferred the mango alone at the bottom.
The service is quick here and they offer a lot of other awesome cold treats and Mexican sweets. It’s very small on the inside, however.
I’m not sure what happened to Elsa’s Paladar, but Tocumbo is standing fine on its own :)

It’s hard to find a place that makes good mangonadas but this place is on point workers were very friendly & fast!!! Very good customer service!!! This is a 5 star business for sure :)

This place is amazing. If your here you must try the rose ice cream. The workers were so friendly to explain how the ice cream was made, even while busy. This place also offers incredible Mango Nada and el lotte as well. Great way to end a work day.

I don’t know why I never knew about this place. The mangonada is delicious! It taste almost like the mango chili candy I remember eating during my childhood. It is a bit spicy, sour then sweet. It consists of spicy chamoy sauce (like tamarind, liquid version of «lucas» chil powder) along with mango ice cream, fresh mangos… The mango ice cream is «homemade» which sets the dessert/​drink apart from others. Next time I want to try the strawberry looking like smoothie (Fresada)

This is a gem in Stockton. I used to come here for their handmade ice cream, but since then, they’ve kept expanding. At one point they had Cuban food here too (totally unrelated and different owners) — but that’s a different story. Now they sell food food, too, like waffles/​pancakes and rice plates. This place may be easily missed, but look for colorful walls and next to a small liquor store.
Recently, I’ve been coming for their fresadas and mangonadas. Man. they are so addicting! $ 5 will get you a small and $ 8 for a large. They also sell dorrito-​nachos. My favorite ice cream flavors are their guava and strawberry. This is a MUST TRY if you’re in Stockton!
