I have been Dr. Toan Tran’s patient for 30 yrs and will be for more years to come. I always have good experience with him and his office. The staffs are pleasant, and his office is always clean and well lit. When I visit his office, I focus on 3 aspects from his service: 1) having an accurate evaluation of my health issue, 2) getting me the cheapest tests to correctly diagnose my problem, and 3) having an appropriate treatment plan for my health issue. He is not God(able to fix every human problem), but his medical evaluations, referrals for tests, diagnoses, and treatment plans are as good as I can find anywhere else. I notice that he is also very influential among his medical colleagues. In Stockton, all the family medicine doctors and internal medicine doctors that I talked to seemed to know him and spoke glowingly about him. Well, being good at one’s profession for that long should earn at least some influence in his professional circles.

I don’t even know where to start. I ended up at this office cause I finally got insurance and I just picked a random name out of the directory to be my primary cause I needed urgent help. The place is absolutely disgusting. There are stains on the wall where heads rest against it from the chairs in the waiting room. No one really knows English very well either, not trying to be rude It’s just rather frustrating when dealing with a healthcare professional and feeling like they have no idea what you’re saying. The front desk lady lacks any sort of courtesy and just kind of tells you everything bluntly and kept looking at me like a freak. My first experience there: I was the only one there and I still had to wait 10 – 15 minutes for the doctor to see me. The waiting room was filthy and I felt gross just touching the chairs. Finally I was called and they took me back to the dark, cramped hallway and weighed me. Then she told me to piss in a cup. As a woman I’ve done that more times than I can count so I thought«Whatever, fine.» then she hands me a F*CKINGPAPERDIXIECUP. I mean what kind of medieval, dark-age, crap did I just step into? I’m used to a sealed plastic container with a LID and a sanitizing wipe for a «clean catch». So I go into the bathroom. Not as bad as I thought it would be, but uh, not clean either. I walk back to her holding my piss in a cup like some sort of costco sample and she puts this stick thing in it to test for something and I have no idea whats going on. Then she sends me to the exam room. Well some things about this; the exam laying-downy table thing is tiny. I just sat in one of the chairs because its crammed to the back of the tiny room like its never used. Well It’s probably never used because its so tiny and even at my lengthy 5’1″ I would be dangling my legs off of it. Also there is a mini fridge in there. So that was weird. Like«Oh this is where we examine the sick people AND store our lunch.» WTF. Anyway the door is wide open and I see the doctor standing at the counter slowly, SLOWLY looking through a packet of papers and signing them. I’m just waiting, watching him, wondering how someone can be so physically slow. Eventually he saunters in and my decision becomes final the first second I see him: I am never coming here again. He is this ancient man. His teeth are rotting out of his mouth. They are grey and friggin NASTY. But get this: he wears a nice brown toupee. Like, bro, you care so much about your appearance that you will wear an awful toupee, with grey sideburns so it’s obvious it is not real, but you can’t brush your teeth? WHY?! So much why. Then he tells me he doesn’t know why they let me choose him as a primary because he isn’t accepting new patients. And as I list the issues I’m having, he just tells me he can’t help me, he doesn’t deal with those sorts of problems. He draws up a blood panel and sends me on my way. No referrals to a doctor that CAN help me with my ails. Just«k get your blood looked at and leave cause I can’t help you, apparently I have no training in helping sick people.» So um maybe don’t go to him if you actually want a real doctor. Wish I could give it zero stars.
