Windmill is always a great place, great drink and bar tenders(Mai Tai’s are on point), good service, live bands are always perfect and there food is finally getting better from previous years.

Good olé windmill cove has changed quite a bit for the better since I last came here like 4 or 5 years ago. It is a lot nicer but the clientele is still the same and is best for people watching. They have security there that frisks you before you get into the place which is a great idea. The tacos for taco tuesday aren’t bad at all. The chicken and fish are the best as the ground beef doesn’t have much flavor at all. All in all this place has upped it’s game since I last came and over the last 25 years it has gotten nicer overall.

Came out here for a jetski event & the place was pretty cool, parking(even to just hang out) was $ 10, everyone launched their skis off the beqh/picnic area without issues, the parking lot got packed pretty quickly, we got there at 1pm & the place was already getting full, we left at 8pm & the place was PACKED! Everyone was really cool, no one had any issues. Jet skiing out there was fun, there’s nothing sticking outta the water to impale you if you fall in! Some boats cruise by fast & trim up to give the jet skiers wakes to jump, and other cruise by slowly trying to be courteous. There’s a roped off area for kids to stay in & swim, and the Porta Potty was close by & pretty clean considering how many people were there today! I didn’t go to the restaurant or bar, but the food looked pretty good as people were bring it back to the beach to eat!

First time here. Taco Tuesday. Tacos are nothing special. $ 8 for all you can eat from 4PM till 10 PM-ish. Choice of hard or soft taco shells. Three choices for filling… beef, chicken or fish. Of course I had to try all three. My favorite was the chicken and beef with the hardshell taco. For my last three I had beef with a soft shell. I also like them. The cooks fill your taco shell with meat and you add the condiments. They have a lot of goodies to choose from. Sour cream, guacamole, salsa, cheese, lettuce, jalapenos, olives… and a few that I probably forgot. It’s a fun place. They had a great band tonight playing good music. A good crowd having a good time. I hear the place gets crazy at times… on weekends during the summer. I want to go back sometime when it gets crazy. lol Probably try some other food besides tacos! Like the other marina resorts, kind of out in the middle of nowhere along the channel… at the end of a long windy road. Some reviews were criticizing the way this place was managed. I can’t speak to the past but they have a new owner since last summer so it might be different now. You’ll just have to try it! Note…the direct number for the bar and restaurant is 209−469−9300.

How does this place not have better reviews?! This was my favorite spot when hopping around different restaurants on the delta. Live music, cold beer, breeze from the water, and just an overall chill atmosphere. I also snacked on some calamari and thought it was really good, although it looked more like medium sized onion rings. Great spot for people of all ages, even kids during the day time.

Decent grill mostly burgers and tacos. Live music with Mike Torres Band this weekend was good. $ 3 beer is a bonus. Cover charge for music was a bit much but can’t really complain as the band was good.

This is my second review and an update to my last one. When the new manager took over he seemed to be getting the bar back on track. The service was good, food was better then it had been. Then at the end of last summer our group all noticed major changes. Even though they have 6 to 8 taps for beer, your lucky to have 2 available at any time. Ok, we realized that it was the close of the busy boating season and you don’t want to keep kegs hooked up that are going to go bad, we get that! But then they started to run out of liquor, go in on a Saturday to get a Captain Morgan & coke and half the time they are out of Captain. Same with most top shelf brands of liquor. Then they started to run low or out of lemons and limes, come on, you need a lime with a rum & coke or a Corona. Since we are on the river most weekends, even in the winter this is our regular place to hang out. We started bringing our own lemons & limes with us. They even have issues with keeping bottled beer available. They started a darts tournament on Friday nights, they get a pretty crowd for it, this has been going on all winter, yet they still run out of liquor, beer, etc. I would think that they would at least plan ahead for an event they know is popular and have beer and liquor available. Not sure what is going on there, but a lot of locals are not happy. Hopefully things will improve with the weather getting nicer, those of us that helped keep them a float during the slow winter months hope so.

We thought it was abandoned. Boat launch is not maintained. Don’t waste your time like we did! The road in is not maintained either. Total waste of time. The pictures on their website were from a different decade!

Terrible management, terrible service, terrible everything… I would not give it any stars except you have to give at least one star to write a review. Seriously, save your time and hard earned money!

This review is strictly for the *Taco Tuesday* Not what’s popping on the other six days. I got invited by my Boss four weeks ago to check this place out. I’m really not into the bar or club scene. So I just went with the flow. My first visit, I was just checking things out and seeing what’s what. I bought the taco deal, all you can eat tacos for $ 8 and a drink with unlimited refills *soda* for $ 2. You make you’re own tacos. They have a table with all the fixings. So you create you’re own work of art. There’s tables and chairs all over the place. So you never have to worry about seating. Majority of the people just stand anyways. If you want to play volleyball they have a court for that. There is an upstairs bar and a house band playing music. Downstairs they have a beer booth. They have restrooms upstairs and downstairs. My second visit, I hit the bar. I was sipping on Coronas that cost $ 4, I didn’t trip because I was having a good time. Best thing to do, is bring you’re on beer and sip outside the bar. Shoot everybody does it. Or sneak you’re 30 pack and come up around the volleyball area in the back. Then you all good. My third visit they started the pat down *if your a guy* If you leave and go to you’re boat. They’ll ask what you get from you’re boat and pat you down again. I’m used to stuff like this anyways. My fourth visit I was feeling more comfortable. Straight kicking it and enjoying the moment. The one thing that stood out to me, Is the owner. All four times, I’ve come here he’s talked to me. Not only me but to everyone there. Dude has great hospitality. That showed me, he really cares about his customers. I love this place because of the surroundings and the laidback people that come here. I’m really glad, I found a place that is Beautiful. …Vincent D. .*VD* Life is Beautiful

So nice to have windmill cleaned up. It was always a fun place to hang out at but the new cleaned up place made me want to not just purchase beer in a bottle. Had lunch and tho it was not a 5 star Meal it was yummy and I would order and eat here again. Cheers to a great job!

Took forever to order. Ordered nachos and wings. Nachos never came. Wings tasted like we are going to regret it later. Don’t eat here. Drinks are weak. Beer is OK. Nice view and breeze. Good people watching though

Been going here for Taco Tuesdays for awhile. Better and cleaner with new owner who has cleaned it up. Great live music and while tacos aren’t the best you’ll ever eat they’re good and cool place to chill.

We boated in to Windmill Cove yesterday and I was amazed at how good it looks. The bar has been completely renovated and looks great. The staff is attractive, helpful, and competent. A DJ played great music and the ground level areas have been cleaned up, trimmed and look civilized. The restaurant is making great hamburgers(plus other stuff) and their staff is friendly and helpful. They brought our order up to the deck when it was ready and tracked us down. What an improvement from the dirty dive with lousy service that it used to be. The only down side is that the cove is still shallow for larger boats at lower tides. The docks themselves have been improved. If you have a ski-boat sized boat, you will have no trouble at all.

Went for a ride with my daughter for lunch. And since I know that some of these places close for the season. I check there web site and rite on the home page it says Bar and Grill opened 7 days a week. Sure enough we ride out there and yes this place is not so easy to find and it’s closed for the season. Needless to say we went down to Tiki Lagoon and had lunch there at least they were open nice people and the burger was good. I wouldn’t have given it a star but the site left me no option

We stayed in a cabin this past weekend and were really not impressed with this place. It is in a great location but it appears as though they put no time or money into cleaning, maintenance or upkeep of this place. The docks are very unsafe and are rickety and have loose boards and tripping hazards. The water near the docks is stagnant, green and smelly. The launch ramp is very slippery because it is regular concrete with no lines cut into it to prevent slips. The cabin was not clean with mold and mildew on the inside of the shower curtains, gunk on the outside, stained carpets and tons of dusty cobwebs inside and outside the cabin. This was definitely not a good value. Lastly, after staying out late on the water, we went into the restaurant at 8:50 on a Saturday night to be told they were no longer serving food. I really wanted to like this spot but will most likely not be returning.

Just finding this place can be difficult. I want to like this place I really do, but still haven’t made up my mind. Thank goodness we went with people who had been here before. The BAR is upstairs The FOOD is downstairs. Just knowing that can really help. Please note on Taco Tuesday its $ 8.00 for unlimited taco’s and toppings, you cannot order any other food so if you don’t like taco’s don’t got there to eat on taco Tuesday. When you walk in to the lower level the register to pay for food is hidden in the far left corner, then you pick up your food at the window. Let me just say the female bartenders are really sweet and have personality, it can be hit and miss for the male bartenders, some seem like they really truly by some sort of medical condition can’t smile or show a personality(just blah) Come on guys I’m spending money and trying to have a good time why cant you smile or say hi or anything is there an unwritten rule from the owners that I’m not aware of. By the way a clean t-shirt is actually overdress here. Casual casual casual casual.

We went there for lunch on a Saturday; they had a portable bar set up; the bottled beer was standing up in ice; so the top third of the bottle was in the 90 degree heat. Before we ordered food I went into the mens room; NOSOAP! I went into the upstairs mens room and NOSOAP there either! I wonder how the food and drink servers wash their hands? Needless to say we did not stay! The stench from the stagnant green water you have to walk by to get in is almost enough to turn ones stomach! The dirt road is very dusty, they could at least wet it down if they can’t afford to oil it.

Boaters rejoice! This place has cold beer, decent red wine, food that’s better then some of the other places on the Delta and plenty of outdoor seating to watch as other water lovers fly by on/in their toys. The hubby and I stopped here for drinks a few times while out on the water and liked it enough that we decided to launch here the last time we took the jet skis out onto the Delta. They have a big bar inside and a nice patio outside with bar stools at both sides of the bar. The bartenders are awesome and will be happy to share their personal wine stash with you if you tell them you’re interested in vino. The food is okay — pretty typical for a bar on the water. The launch is cheap — $ 10 — but I’ve heard that many people use it without paying(naughty!) The ramp itself is pretty small and the water around it has a lot of growth, so you have to be a bit careful of the props and jets coming in and out. The dock is long enough for a few people to be tied up while someone else is using the ramp, but navigating it is a bit tough due to a strangely placed railing. Thank goodness for my circus training so that I could climb, hang and pull the jet skis in and out by a bungee! Not sure what the rest of the folks do, but it would be fun to come watch for an afternoon. The ride out to fast water is pretty, going through a channel lined with berths and the water is fairly clean. If you want to pull around the corner to the bar, there are plenty of places to tie up along the sidewalk. Overall, Windmill Cover has everything water babies need to have a day of fun on the Delta.
