Yikes. The mold and mildew odor is overpowering. Also the exit door sticks shut and the sign is not illuminated — is that safe?

NOTE: Arrive early for your showtime if you’re aiming for a must-see. Only one box office window, and the opening weekend for whatever kids movie was releasing seemed to have a 15-minute line to purchase tickets. Did two movie viewings in my week’s stay in Avalon. The building itself is very small, each theater is pretty intimately sized by today’s standards. Ticket and snack prices are about the same as you’ll find anywhere else. The theaters have an old feel, but are pretty cleanly kept, and the show quality and sound system seem to be up to date(though, I did find a bit of a nostalgia feel to being able to hear the projector whirring away in quiet moments). If there’s a summer blockbuster you just can’t miss, or it’s just a rainy day and you need something to do, this is a fine choice, I’d say.

One of the last theatres left in the Wildwood/surrounding-area. Always found it very nice and clean. Stone Harbor is in general. Let’s hope they stick around.

It’s a very small outdated theater with a limited amount of variety(I think they play 4 movies at a time, since they have 4 theaters). The individual theaters themselves are non-stadium seating and the screen only takes up a fraction of the wall. They really should renovate them; there’s a reason everyone runs to the theater in Rio Grande instead. It’s okay if you happen to be in the area, but come with reasonable expectations.
