Staff shirts say, «Familiar Taste, Different Place». I wasn’t sure what that meant until I ate. They are selling Mrs. Winner’s chicken! It was good. Broccoli casserole was like cheese and broccoli soup. It wasn’t good. Greens were good after adding salt and pepper. Personable staff and quick service considering that my chicken was hot!

I had no plans to go to Angie’s, but while stopped at the gas station, I noticed a line early in the morning and decided to see what was inside. Angie’s is a small independent shop that focuses on fried chicken and waffles all day, but I got a few of their breakfast specials, notably the fried chicken biscuit and their steak biscuit. The chicken biscuits were on sale, two for $ 5, and the steak(country fried) were on sale, two for $ 4. I got a few of each for my family. The chicken was fried to order(so you may have to sit for 10 minutes or so), seasoned well, and the biscuit was soft, hot and buttery. I didn’t try the steak, but was told it was also delicious. Customer service was great, friendly, and ultimately why they get an extra star from me. A couple of customers ordered a meal, then said they ordered something else when it was prepared. Angie’s staff prepared the new order, kept it professional and got the customers on their way(who wouldn’t show their receipts when asked to confirm their order). I like that they handled things they way they did. Instead of getting into an argument with the customers, who were starting to get attitude. Located at the corner of memorial drive and Hairston road, Angie’s shares a lot with a gas station, but is its own brick and mortar store. Parking is very limited, but there’s a few tables for sitting. Exiting onto memorial drive is pretty easy, but it’s battle to exit onto Hairston. I’ve driven past Angie’s several times without stopping in, and after giving them a try, I hope this little shop makes it!

I went to Angie’s for breakfast expecting to have a simple breakfast biscuit. I was surprised to see that they actually sold bacon, eggs and different breakfast platters as well. I had the fish and grits and it was really good. I will be returning for more breakfast.

I pass this place all the time. Being from NYC I’m always on the look out for good chicken and waffles. The location is great. All the staff were way past friendly. I had the chicken and waffles. The waffle was good and the chicken was crispy and we’ll seasoned. I got it to go and I’m pretty sure using my maple syrup at home was a little better than the syrup they provide but I didn’t try theirs. Definitely plan to go back again.
