Virginia ABC Store

A very well organized and clean ABC store. My friend and I walked in knowing exactly what we were getting, but on our way out, we saw a liquor tasting table and obviously couldn’t resist. I didn’t even know that there were samples at the ABC store, but it was cool to try something new without having to buy it.
We ended up buying the liquor we tasted and left very content. Everyone working at the store was also very nice, funny, and helpful, which made our short time there enjoyable.

This is one of the cleanest and well-​organized ABC stores I’ve been to. The bottles are always stocked up and staff is very friendly and helpful. With its location at the heart of the shopping center, there is plenty of parking. It is in Stone Ridge afterall, and I doubt anyone really goes hard in this town, so you don’t have to deal with the crowding or long lines on weekend nights.
I didn’t even know that ABC offered taste testings, but they did one last night on the Don Q rum. After trying a teeniest sip as a sample my friend and I were easily persuaded into purchasing this never-​before seen alcohol (and ended up with the biggest hangover the next day), but anyways, it was still pretty cool that they offered sampling on a Saturday night.

Times get hard and sometimes, alcohol really is the answer to life’s problem.
Having a higher learning (ABC) establishment in my ‘hood makes finding the solution to my problems so much easier.
I appreciate that this store is kept tidy and neat. Once you move a bottle, a sales associate is there to line the shelves back. Strangely, they always seem to have a sale when I enter. If they really wanted to make me happy, they would offer a discount coupon or a BOGO free deal occasionally.
More recently, I called to inquire about a new liquor I sampled. They didn’t have what I wanted but the sales associate gave me the most in depth answer to WHY they didn’t have it in stock. I was actually shocked because a simple «No» would have sufficed. However, once I listened to his explanation (something about VA laws… blah blah blah), I was impressed with his customer service and still paid the store a visit for another brand of liquor that he recommend. See, it’s the little things that impress me.
Located next to the Harris Teeter in Stone Ridge, this location has ample parking and never crowded. I like shopping solo.

I am not a fan of the state owned liquor store. There is just too much regulation — what products can be carried, price, etc. However, when living in VA and not wanting to make the drive to DC or MD, choices are limited.
That being said, this ABC store in Stonebridge is actually quite nice. The employees are friendly and helpful. The variety of products they carry is fantastic. If you are looking to splurge, they have quite the selection of higher end alcohols. The store is bright with wide aisles and it’s easy to find what you are looking for. They are always well stocked. Location is convenient to home and parking is convenient and easy.

Good selection. I prefer Stone Ridge location to Chantilly, little bit nicer.

Good selection of spirits including Virginia distilled whiskeys and gin. They have some hard to find spirits. Store is clean and spacious.
