Ordered through Grubhub. Food was at my door when they said it would be, and delivery driver was friendly enough, and they got the order right. The fried mushrooms were very good. That’s the good part of this review. The negative… my husband’s veal parm was meh… I had steak tips & rice, tips were bland & dry… my son said his grilled chicken Caesar was awful, that the Caesar dressing was watery and very vinegary and the chicken was slimy, and the small pizza we got was underdone. It’ll be the last time we order from this particular place. I’ll stick with Liberty Bell in Stoneham or Melrose, or Kipo’s in Wakefield.

Square pizza? Yes, not quite grandma’s Sicilian, but way better than most American pizza. The owners are hard working and truly care about the business. This an old school business, with a contemporary face. Definitely worth the effort to find and check out.

Great take out place in Stoneham. The pizza and calzones are awesome. They have a big menu with many things on it. Once I was here waiting for my take out and the lady behind the counter gave me a free piece of the homemade pita to try while I was waiting for my order. It was AMAZING. If you get a salad, I think a piece will come with it. Will definitely be back.

I only come here for one thing and sometimes I might drive the extra mile just to get it. What is it? The damn finger-licking good buffalo wings. These are real meaty and full of flavor. Be sure to try em out of you ever in the mood for wings or simply hungry. The service is always good and over a very nice family owned business !

I just ordered delivery. Steak tip Greek salad and chicken wings. I wasn’t too thrilled with anything. Steak tips were salty. Chicken seemed like the boxed banquet chicken. First time here, last time too! I was charged almost $ 24 not worth it. Try again guys!

The large roast beef sandwich with sauce and cheese is excellent, the meat is very tender. It disappeared quickly.

I got a pizza… It was bland. I give it a two because the store is super clean.

I feel bad writing this because I love the owners at Johnny’s, they are great people. But just because they are great people doesn’t mean the service is any good. Recently, things I order are incorrect and I have to go back and get it done the correct way… and then once I called in a pick up order for a tuna sub… and I was told 45 mintues… Like is that real? The tuna is already made, all you have to do is throw it in a sub roll. If Johnny’s could get there timing together and hire more employees to help, it would be a great place to go… But I hate going places that says 20 minutes for pick up then you get there and wait an additional 20 mintues…

Mom and pop shop with great food! Ordered a small cheese with bacon pizza and a buffalo chicken calzone. Both were delicious and flavorful. It’s a little on the pricey side, both were size small and totaled to be $ 20 which is kind of steep but it was pretty worth the cost. Happy to find a new shop with a variety menu!

Not quite as good after new management took over, but still a reasonably decent place to grab a bite to eat. The new staff is very nice, though they certainly take their sweet time doing what they do. Just okay now.

Got the large boneless honey bbq wings with fries. Lets start with the boneless wings, amazing. The barbeque sauce is made in house and the chicken is nice and tender. You can taste the freshness with every bite. The fries were nice and crispy. I got the honey mustard sauce on the side which is delicious. Great place, even better food.

We’ve called in for take out(pick up, no delivery) twice. We got two junior beefs(one plain, one with mayo), mozzarella stick, small fry and a tuna sub. The junior beefs were good. However my junior that I ordered with mayo. came with sauce, NO mayo. The sauce was so spicy I couldn’t eat most of it.(minus one star). The mozzarella sticks were okay, not bad but not the best. The fries were really good. My tuna sub wasn’t bad, but it had way too much celery in it. Why do people put celery in tuna? I’ve never understood that. Had to pick a lot out.(minus one star). We’ll go back for the roast beef & fries, for sure.

I feel terrible writing this review, but it’s obvious that this establishment is beginning to have issues again. Let me start by saying that the employees here are incredibly friendly and kind. They work very hard to service their customers. I’ve been going to Johnny’s since they first opened several years ago. The first family(original owners) had a great start, but the quality of the food and service began to go downhill after a year or two. Eventually things got bad enough and a new family(new management) took over the business. At this point things definitely turned around and Johnny’s was once again making a name for themselves. Nearly everything on the menu was delicious, especially their salads. You can see the mouthwatering pictures on this site. A nice fresh looking green salad with big piles of steak or chicken on top. You couldn’t beat their homemade pita either. It was almost reason alone to visit Johnny’s. Over the past year I would still visit Johnny’s for lunch, but the quality of their food was hit or miss and so was the service. I would frequently receive incorrect orders. At first I thought it was just me, but then my coworkers began to make the same comments. Today it’s just miss all around. Sandwiches and subs are smaller with less meat. Instead of the salads being fresh and green, they are now yellow with brown edges. The produce is like leftover scraps that you would feed to your pet rabbit. It looks horrible and tastes like it has already expired. They only put a few small pieces of chicken on top, which are often dry, flavorless and overcooked. To finish it off, the pita is now always, ALWAYS burnt to a crisp. It’s closer to a frisbee than a pita. In conclusion, I can no longer recommend Johnny’s to anyone and I’m starting to understand why it’s always empty now. It’s such a shame, because they were doing extremely well for a while, but it looks like things are going downhill once again. I really hope they start to turn things around soon. If I was in the area, I’d recommend Three Amigos over Johnny’s. It’s right next door. To my surprise, they serve excellent kabob salads and great mexican food as well. Liberty Bell, which is further down 28 towards Walgreens, is a better option as well.

Amazing food and great customer service! My husband and I came here on Christmas Eve night after driving around looking for a place that was still open. It was about 6pm and we weren’t having any luck, so I turned to Unilocal and found Johnny’s. Come to find out, Johnny’s stayed open a bit later just for us! They didn’t seem to mind either, chatting with my husband while he waited for his food to be finished. The roast beef sandwiches here are amazing, we got a small spicy fry on the side which were curly fries with the perfect amount of spiciness. And we also got a small pepperoni pizza, which was also delicious. Next time we are going to try the Sicilian pizza. I highly recommend Johnny’s!

Oh Man!!! We just don’t have places like this in the south. Visiting from Atlanta on a work trip, seeking local places– home run on this one. Super tender roast beef, med rare, spicy sauce, fresh onion roll. All there else is to say… I need more napkins please.

First, let me say, that I don’t like giving this poor review, because the people who work here are REALLY Nice. We have ordered here regularly for years, but for the past six months or so, they have NEVER gotten our order right. Not ONCE. It’s bizarre. And we’re not ordering crazy stuff. A calzone one night, a couple of subs, or a pizza. It’s Always wrong. I don’t get it. We decided tonight, after yet another wrong order, that we’re done. I hope they fix whatever’s going on because in truth, the only reason I didn’t give them fewer stars, is because they are nice people.

Once Sal’s closed down, I wasn’t sure where to go for pizza. Once I went to Johnny’s, I realized I had been stupid to stick with Sal’s in the first place. Consistently very good, with a friendly staff, and no weaknesses in their menu. Everything is good. Definitely give them a shot.

Stop here… It’s great! If you’re looking for something quick and easy, but not fast food at a chain restaurant, go here. We found this place on Unilocal on our way back from Boston. Convenient off the highway and lots of parking. Food was great, had salad with homemade pita and Greek dressing and pizza. Pizza is «Greek» style but very good. My husband had a roast beef sandwich… Which was outrageous! The owners were lovely… Could not have been any more welcoming and appreciative of our business. We will definitely stop next time we are in the area!

We were looking for a place in Stoneham to get a quick meal without having to resort to fast food. Unilocal to the rescue for a great choice. This place has an unexpectedly large variety of items on its menu — burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizza, full meals, etc. We weren’t in the mood for sandwiches, so we ordered salads to go, a chicken kebab salad and a cobb salad. These were prepared fresh to order. I knew I’d get grilled chicken for my kebab salad, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the cobb salad also had grilled chicken. The thing that really sold me about Johnny’s is the pita — it’s not the conventional store-bought type. It’s freshly made there, and you get half of a much larger«round» of it. It was amazing — fresh, soft, tangy, tasty — absolutely the best pita I’ve ever had, and now I don’t think I’ll be able to look at store-bought pita(or what they give you at other places) the same ever again. I’ve got to believe if the pita is this good, the pizza crust is going to be tangy too, so now I hope to get an opportunity to try Johnny’s pizza, as well as other menu items.
