Business travel from Arizona to Boston. Macbook inverter problems. On a weekend(Saturday) I sent an email to MacFixer describing my problem. I had an email back THATDAY… on the weekend! No one does that. John was outstanding in getting to the issue quickly and emailing on both Saturday and Sunday. Ultimately I limped home with bad video but I am and you should be impressed with MacFixer’s ability to at least contact you on the weekend. Great customer service, they do care. Just be clear and thorough with your problem when you email them.

My boss decided to reorganize the network over the holidays… the Mac fixer wizard came and made everything alright.

My ancient iMac G4 wouldn’t start(seemed like a power supply failure) and some of the data stupidly wasn’t backed up, so just throwing it out wasn’t an option. John at MacFixer ordered a new power supply for me, came over — had great time options available. Took everything out and then noticed that the problem was not just the faulty power supply but a chip on the hard drive that was smoking. After doing a bunch of tests and trials — more and more thorough than I’d expect — and nothing working and I probably not being willing to spend the thousands of dollars it’d take to get a data recovery specialist to remove the platters and work that way, John, with my blessing, took a pillar to the chip, removed it and using an external case, TADA, my data was safely restored and ready to go into a new computer. I didn’t get the previous one working completely(though an external HD enclosure for $ 50 would do the trick), but he saved the much more important data from the computer. Couldn’t ask for more.

My 15″ Macbook Pro was suddenly experiencing major graphic/freezing/start-up problems and wouldn’t boot past the start-up screen. I couldn’t access any part of my computer to back up data before I could take it in to the Apple Store. I thought my laptop was D.O.A. and would have to buy a new Macbook Pro(which really isnt in my budget at the moment). I sent John, the Mac Fixer, a slightly panicked email asking for help. He was very quick to reply, and let me know that some Macbook Pro’s have a known problem with the logic board/video card, and it should be fixed for free at the Apple Store even though it is out of warranty. I brought my laptop in the next morning, and sure enough, Apple is fixing it for free. So, thank you John, for saving me over $ 1500 which I would have wasted on a new laptop!

I lived in Boston for a few years, and needed help with several of my Macs that were critical to my multi-media production company. Got lucky and found out about MacFixer. Contacted John over there, and he was on the ball from the start. I sent him a list of things needed to be done, from the simple to the vague and complex. We set a time, he came to my office, and he got everything done quickly and thoroughly. John is direct about what is required, what he’ll be doing, how long it will take, and the cost. The pricing is reasonable, and the work is done all the way until you’re satisfied. I live in Brooklyn now, and wish MacFixer were here to help me when I’m in need. If I have any big jobs to be done, I’d even consider paying for him to come down to NYC to do it!
