Love this place! Tastings were free when we went and beer is top-notch. Their apparel is really cool too. Definitely worth a visit!

Really enjoyed the trip to Beer’d. Staff was super friendly and eager to share samples with you. I am a big fan of IPA’s and they had 3 different ones on tap out of the 5. All were really good. I even enjoyed their Wit Beer, which is a style I usually don’t like. I had heard about their Hobbit Juice and was excited to try it. I shared with the gentleman serving us that I had driven about an hour to try it. He shared that they were running out very quickly. Would’t you know it as he went to get me a sample, it kicked! Not to worry, he had poured himself a growler earlier in the day to bring home with him. Since he knew I was looking to try it, he offered it to me! I really appreciated the gesture and enjoyed some Hobbit Juice at home on Super Bowl Sunday. It is located in an old warehouse. They have a variety of shops and other businesses in the building. Seem like a really cool place to visit, even if you don’t like beer. Next time I am down in that part of the state, I will be going back!

As frequent brewery visitors, Beer’d ranks high! We loved the casual and fun atmosphere, and the friendly service. There was plenty of room to stand or sit, with table games available to play, which was really fun! My husband was able to sample each of the beers, for free, which is beginning to be a dying trend at breweries. From his samples, he was able to make the selections to fill the growlers he brought, and then to have a couple while we hung-out too. My husband’s favorite brews were Frank & Berry and Dogs & Boats. Overall he said the beer was outstanding. I liked that the brewery provided cheese and crackers, and also had pretzels and pickles for sale(to go or to eat there). Nice touch! Being able to bring your own growlers is a GREAT idea, and makes it so more money can be spent on actual beer, than having to buy new growlers too. Although Beer’ds growlers and merchandise is pretty cool! We were introduced to Beer’d through the RI Brewfest in January! They made quite an impression and we were happy to travel to CT to check them out.

I travel all over going to craft brewers and this is one of the best! I Love hoppy stuff and this place delivers. I find usually 4 of the 5 brews they offer are outstanding to my taste and never leave without a few growlers to take home. Cozy pub where you can have a pint while waiting for fills and chat with others who share the same taste for outstanding beer.

Visiting Beer’d while on a weekend trip to Mystic. They’re housed in an odd building(reclaimed warehouse turned into a quasi-mall?) but once you find them, you’re in for some outstanding brews… Their tasting area is small, but they manage efficiently with a two-line system for growler fills and tasting. Evidently, they have quite the local following, as there were about 20 folks lined up for the opening bell, many with multiple empty growlers. Sampled a handful of their beers — they particularly rocked the hops. IPA and two DIPAs were outstanding. And who can be uncheered by a name like«Wet Dogs and Capsized Canoes»? Friendly, enthusiastic crew topped it all off(Thanks again to the barkeep who slipped us an extra sample of one of their special offerings). Well Done !

We love to seek out the smaller breweries for tastings and growler fills. I noticed another customer with a beer’d growler at Cottrell brewing company, and made a mental note to give them a try. Located in the eclectic and delightfully diverse old velvet mill, beer’d is the obvious cornerstone of what keeps this emporium alive. The tasting room is funky in a good way, with a laid back vibe and friendly staff. We were able to taste a ton of their brews, I fell in love with 8 days a week, and my husband really liked their Already Taken ipa, and Hobbit Juice dipa. We were in luck, as they turned over two kegs in the 40 min we were there and allowed us to try those as well which was a great treat. We left with some growler fills, which was done efficiently and competitively priced for the quality of the product. I would definitely return and recommend them to the craft brew enthusiasts in the area.

A cozy little nanopub in that was well worth the trip off the beaten path. Grab a beer then walk around to the other art shops. They had a solid array of IPAs but not much on the non-hoppy side.

I’m not really sure how I came to hear of Beer’d brewing but initially my intrigue was in part due to the clever brewery name and fun logo. My husband, a CT native, mentioned that Stonington was en route to his parents home so we made it a point to stop in on our most recent trip to his folks. The website mentioned that there was an event at the Velvet Mill(where the brewery was located) and to follow the signs for the brewery. It got kind of confusing as several of the doors were blocked off(temporary signs saying no admittance) and we weren’t really sure where to go. We tried calling but there was no answer and got a bit discouraged. Fortunately I spotted a guy who appeared to be holding a growler size cooler and I asked him if he knew how we could get to the brewery. He and his lady friend were happy to direct us and we found it at last. The space is small and within a warehouse which I think made it seem extra cool. There were tables and a communal bar and we were psyched to saddle up with a few pints after a long drive. Oh and FREESAMPLES! We got to try all their beers and we were just in time for a new, never released double IPA to come up since another beer had just been kicked. Everything we tried, especially the IPAs, were awesome. Top quality and major citrus and hop bombs that had us wanting to go over our 2 growler limit(self imposed, we have a beer budget these days). Kittens and Canoes and Dogs and Boats were both fantastic, among the others we tried. Fortunately/unfortunately I think Beer’d will be a stop we will always have to make en route to my husbands family from now on.

The greatest brewery in all of the landy, Not one of their brews was boring or blandy. I left the facility feeling nothing but dandy, Like a kid who just stuffed his face with candy. Beer’d has surpassed Victory and Jack’s Abby to become my favorite brewery in the country. You heard it here. It’s a good sign when every single beer that you try at a brewery is excellent, if not world class. It’s an even better sign when all of the employees have huge smiles on their faces with passion for their business oozing out of their ears. Most of the beers were IPAs or DIPAs, but they were all unique in their own way. My favorite brew was called«Too Many Cooks»: It had the most wonderful citrusy/fruity flavor without any excessive bitterness. I bought growlers of «Kittens & Canoes»(a very fresh, hoppy APA) and«Dogs & Boats»(the definition of a perfect DIPA). They also had a nice, smoky porter and their flagship«Whisker’d Wit». The tasting room was so cool. Located within what looked like an old factory building, there were old, repurposed tables and plenty of room to hang out. A sample of all six of Beer’d offerings was free, and 32 oz. growler fills were in the ballpark of $ 7 – 8 each. Pints are around $ 5. There was also a guy selling bread on-site with local Connecticut ingredients. If you like drinking unique, hoppy beers in a hip environment, Beer’d is for you.

This place is where my father-in-law wanted to go after his birthday brunch, so we took the drive from North Kingstown here(which is not bad and worth it!). Super tiny place in a huge mill that has pastry shops, lots of art and more! Even though the place was jam packed, they don’t make you feel rushed during your samples and the growler line is very fast. They even text you when your growlers are ready so you can browse around(fantastic). I had thought that everyone working there had a beard, I really thought I had read that but I was wrong. The customers beards made up for the lack behind the counter. The staff is VERY friendly in a genuine way. The music is the ultimate hipster playlist but is not blasting and easy to converse while drinking. Also, please buy a tulip glass because they are absolutely perfect. Will be returning to get refills!

This is really a tiny little brewery with a tasting counter and not a regular bar or brew pub, so limited hours and selection focusing on filling growlers. Having said that, it is in a very funky old re-purposed factory(called the Velvet Mill so I imagine a textile factory), the people are very friendly, the atmosphere is cool and of course the beer is fresh and tasty. Judging by what I saw on tap when I went I’d say they are focusing on pale ales, IPAs and Double IPAs, although they had a very nice oatmeal stout and I guess I just missed an oyster stout that had kicked. If I didn’t live so far away I would make this a regular stop. Support your local brewery!

I make the trek out here from Providence because my husband and I love the beer, and the company is great too. The owners are very nice and the fellow customers reflect it back. Even when the line stretches out the door, we usually don’t have to wait too long for samples before choosing what to bring home. Going on a Saturday morning is great too because you can poke around the farmer’s market(in the same building) and more of the galleries are open.

Friendly. Beer tastings. Nice. er…kegs?! Seriously, I can’t drink beer BUT the Submariner can… and does… in all the best places and Beer’d is among the best. I am the beer ‘sniffer’ and damn, their beer smells goooood. Bring a growler. Bring two. Or three. Plus…coolest company name EVER!!!

Hands down best beer brewed in CT. We’ve been to at least 12 breweries in the state and this is the only one that both my husband and I loved each sample. The staff was super friendly and taught us a few things about beer that I never knew. This is a must visit if you’re in the mystic area… or plan a day trip around your visit to beer’d!!!

Love this place. Beautiful location near the beach, in a weird, obscure warehouse where it shares space with a delish bakery called Zest and a ton of artists’ studios. Park on the street, walk in and bare right. Deliciousness up ahead. Friendly staff will take you through the samples. Then grab a few growlers for home. Sharing is caring. Grab a few for friends.

This place is the micro brew that will finally put CT on the map for world class ales. Not that others aren’t doing good it’s just that I’m astounded with the quality in their products. The Belgium session is very rush and smooth. The amount of batches they’ve produced in their 18 months is daunting. We went and tried the line up of the night with great service. Visit the website before going so you know what’s to expect. The tour is not really a tour as it is in one room but I don’t expect that to last long. Yum Yum Yum

Awesome little place with great beer and a super friendly staff. I’ve been here twice for tastings now and came home with a growler both times. Good stuff. All of their beer that I’ve tried has been delicious but if I had to pick a favorite I’d probably go with the Whiskered Wit. Awesome name and logo too. Not as hard to find as people say but keep in mind it is in a large warehouse type building, just follow the signs and you’ll have no issue.

Consider me a huge fan of Beer’d & their brews. They’re not so easy to find. Beer’d is tucked away inside the Velvet Mill in Stonington Borough. Go once & you won’t forget their location. They usually have at least 3 beers on tap but it’s tough to keep supply when the demand is so high. They’re open for tastings & growler fills Friday nights & during the weekend. There’s a bar situated inside the brewery where you can sample their beers & chat with Aaron the brewer/owner. I’m partial to their Midnight Oil stout but enjoy all their beers. A growler fill costs only $ 10 – 12 depending on the beer. Aaren started out with just 3 beers but just added a Belgian tripel & has a porter coming soon. You can’t go wrong with their Whisker’d Wit or their black IPA either. Support your local brewery! I expect big things from Beer’d in the future & am excited to see how they grow going forward. Check their website & Facebook page for more details about tastings & hours.
