It’s a place to have a quick bite in my opinion. I don’t feel the food is authentic but the people working g here are nice and always make you feel welcomed. I would go to Astoria for authentic food but if you don’t want to drive to Astoria then this place is just fine.

Stopped in for a quick dinner and ordered the falafel sandwich with tahini sauce. For ~$ 7, the portion size was perfect but their falafel seemed a little bland and to be missing some type of spice. The tahini sauce tasted really strange. Overall, there was a weird flavor throughout the sandwich. It wasn’t terrible but I probably wouldn’t go back.

Bought the Gyro Melt. Stingy with the cheap gyro meat and toped with highly processed mozzarella cheese. Was expecting a Gyro with the lettuce onion and tomatoes plus cheese. Was hungry. Still am. Disappointed enough to write this review.

I have never felt strongly enough about a retail experience to write an online review. I made an account with Unilocal specifically to communicate to the public just how unpleasant this place is. The worst part is, the food is actually decent. I’ve gotten a lamb gyro probably 7 times and its been consistently edible(nothing spectacular, but edible). The problem is, each time you want a gyro, you have to communicate with whoever is at the counter or answering the phones. Initially I would walk in to order my gyros. but the management and employees made me feel so uncomfortable that I began calling my orders in. Just a few minutes ago, I called to order a gyro, and the woman who answered the phone seemed offended that I was calling to place an order. It is the same behavior that stopped me from walking in. It is hard to express via text, but these people have a habit of barking at their customers. I wont order from Greek to go again because the quality of the food isn’t worth interacting with the ownership and employees.

The lemon orzo soup is amazing! I would also recommend my go to falafel pita. Love the quick delivery whenever we order!

Ordered delivery here twice, and it’s pretty cool that their system remembers your address so you dont have to repeat yourself. They accept wolfie wallet for stony students and have free delivery! I ordered the baklava, calamari, and gyro meat over rice. The bakalava is a little too sweet in my opinion, but is nice in smaller bites with some coffee. The calamari is not worth since it is both tiny and contains a small amount in consideration to its price, and the gyro meat over rice does not contain any veggies except for a few tiny diced onions and peppers here and there. I NEEDVEGGIES, especially since delicious vegetables are hard to come by for a university student. The meat was also rather dry, but the sauce that came with it salvaged the dish. From my past 2 times ordering here, they always arrive quicker than the time they say they will so you can look forward to that. Otherwise, there’s nothing exceptional here. Edit: Finished my gyro meat over rice and i’m PARCHED. cant tell if over seasoned or msg… AND i had 3 bottles of water!

So we tried Greek to Go after my husband stopped at picked up a menu a few days ago. I worked a ten hour day(with little kids by the way) and wasn’t even able to eat lunch so I was looking forward to going to this place with my husband and kids for dinner. So we take the 15 minute drive and we walk in and I wasn’t impressed with the place. A few tables, but the place was empty. But I know that that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. So we went in and took our seats. We looked over a menu and made our order. 4 Gyros, 1 Souvlaki, hummus, and medium greek salad. They brought over the hummus and the eggplant thing(I’m sorry I don’t know the name). I thought it was tasty, but we were 5 people and they brought over TWO(2) Pita, cut into 8 triangles. It was ridiculous. We asked for more pita and it was like deer in headlights. I asked how do the extra pitas come and the worker replied, $ 0.90 each, so my husband said we’ll take two. they brought them over, and that was that. We didn’t get a friendly vibe from one person in that place, except for a young guy that looked scared to do anything wrong. He was super friendly, I felt bad that he had to work there. He was too nice for that place. We get the bill and it was for $ 69, which we estimated it to be around, but not to be petty but we noticed they charged me $ 3.00 for the extra pita and that they never gave me my pita with my salad. When I took the rest of my food to go, just the rest of the salad and the hummus stuff, I said, «Oh, I never got pita with my salad.» The owner or lady in charge(I’m guessing she was the owner) who didn’t talk to us the entire time we were there just turned with such a tude and said, «What salad?» I said, «The greek Salad.» She literally turned her head, put her nose up in the air and walked away. So nasty! I couldn’t believe it! I got my pita and I left. NOW I knew why the place was empty. when you treat your customers that badly, you shouldn’t be open for business. I’ll buy my gyros some place else. Adiós.

Chicken soulvaki is really good as well as gyro over rice! Taziki sauce is a must!!! Tried the steak once, and it was bland and very very dry!

I went here yesterday with my friend. She says to the guy, «I’ll have a lamb gyro»(she pronounced it «year-oh»). The guy taking the order responds with«You mean gyro?»(he pronounces it «ji-roh»). Really? All the employees pronounce it incorrectly, which is one thing, but to correct someone who is pronouncing it the appropriate way when you are the one working in the Greek restaurant? Aye. The food is yummy. Generous portions and affordable. The tzatziki sauce is a bit bland and fries need some salt.

I just had a delicious lamb gyro. Yogurt sauce was very good, pita was yummy, veggies on it were fresh. I got the meal with fries and the fries were hot and fresh, very good. I stayed to eat, they were all very nice, brought the tray out to where I was sitting. Good food, good service, I recommend them.

Been to several Greek restaurants in Suffolk county. Been to this one three times… each time thinking the last visit was just a bad day for them. I give up. This restaurant is «to go» even though there are a couple of tables in the establishment. The gyros are barely acceptable here. The meat is good, the pita, tomatoes and sauce are not. Seems as though the local university students and employees accept this place because it’s close and affordable. Everything other than gyros are that they«make» come directly out of freezer bags. You may as well go to Costco and get your Greek food there and then put it in your own microwave oven. Service is poor and unfriendly. My bet is that if another Greek restaurant were to open up in the area this place would go out of business. Really, industrial sized frosen moussaka? Ick.

We’ve only gotten take-out here, so all I can say about the service is that our order was ready when promised. We found the food quality a mixed bag. On the positive side, the portions were huge. The moussaka was quite tasty. The greek salad was good, but it was missing the standard hot peppers. On the negative side, the pastichio was very bland and tasteless and the chicken lemon soup was weirdly cinnamon flavored with the consistancy of library paste. Also, a side of broccoli was heavily seasoned with garlic(garlic lovers would find this a plus). If we ever go back again, we’ll stick to the moussaka and not get too adventurous there.

Tried the food here for the first time today. I ordered delivery and they told us it will be an hour wait. They arrived earlier than expected! We were very annoyed though when we realized that they didn’t provide any utensils. What am I supposed to eat my food with? And what kind of a «to-go» place doesn’t give utensils? Lol I ordered the Athenian eggplant and the portion is huge! The flavor is good but there really wasn’t much of the eggplant. It came with some broccoli which was pretty fresh, pita bread, a side of salad and their tsatziki sauce. I’m saving half of it for tomorrow. The chicken souvlaki over rice was very disappointing. It was a lot of rice and very little chicken. Not worth the $ 7.50 at all. The crab cakes we got as an appetizer was probably our favorite. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The tsatziki sauce was great with the crab cakes as well. Overall, an acceptable meal. I advise against ordering the chicken souvlaki over rice which was underwhelming and not worth the money. Get the dinner platters for a better deal!

Wow what can I say. The food here is great! I got a gyro over rice and it was great. Not your traditional doner but The service is quick and the people are friendly. If you like Greek food and your in the area stop on in.

The food was decent, but the service was terrible. I walked in and spoke to the women who was behind the counter. I ordered two gyro deluxe meals. The response I received was unexpected. She gave me a nasty attitude, which made me feel like I was an inconvenience to her. After I received an attitude, she then continued to snap at her employees. As I started to walk out she then demanded that I pay before the food was made. So no problem I payed in cash. The problem was she proceeded to charge me $ 24.60 when the sign in the window clearly said that the gyro deluxe meals were $ 9.00 plus tax. I asked her why the discrepancy, she replied tax. Huh? last time i check tax on 18.00 dollars wasn’t more than $ 1.50.i won’t be going back there again and i wouldn’t recommend this rude restaurant to anyone no matter how good they think there food is. On that note i also observed they are discriminatory against blonde females, They are very mean to all blonde women. i think its a jealousy thing!

Love going here to pick up a gyro when I’m on break from work or nearby and in the mood for affordable Greek takeout. The inside is nothing special, but the meat is good quality and very delicious. The only thing I would say that isn’t the best is the portion sizes for takeout, it’s definitely smaller than when you stay there. Staff is usually friendly, I have never been there when(and if) it is busy.

We are new to the area and tried this place about a month ago. We ordered greek«pizza» which is spinach and feta on grilled pita, that was very tasty. Simple but good. I got a gyro, really nothing to write home about. I’ve had much better. The tzatziki had large pieces of dill in it, not a fan of it. Overall I wasn’t impressed and wouldn’t go back. I actually had a way better gyro at the diner in Centereach right down the road!

Come here a lot with my friends. I’m not aware of any other greek places nearby so this will have to do. The gyro meat is the usual crappy gyro meat(it’s not doner, actual meat pieces. If you get greek food at other places and they have this, sometimes called a Greek gyro, GETIT. a million times better). There’s no way to get a gyro with fries and a salad without blowing a lot of money. Their tzatziki(the white sauce) is REALLY good, though. You’ll leave this place with your clothes smelling; wash them soon after.

I can say for sure that take out portions are much smaller than dine in. Like another Unilocaler mentioned, the bread was bland. The gold peak tea was weird as hell. They probably tried to dilute it to get more out of it, then tried to save it, but ended up putting the wrong ingredients in. No wonder this place isn’t crowded. The décor is dull and it makes me feel like I’m in jail. Not to mention that the workers look miserable.
