Fun for the whole family! I look forward to visiting Eugster’s every year around Halloween. I wish we could go more often but we don’t have the time! Such a nice place to take the kids!

KITTENPALACE. I think I’ve found my happy place. Eugster’s is a working farm, but they also have a slew of family-friendly activities. One of those activities is the kitten palace. From the outside, the kitten palace just looks like a little shack. It also looks like a little shack on the inside, but there is also the bonus of a dozen tiny, perfect, cuddly kittens that you can snuggle to your heart’s content. THEREARELITERALLYBASKETSOFKITTENS. I don’t know if I can stress the amazingness of this little room enough. The cats are rescues that are being socialized for adoption, and they are tiny, tiny balls of fur. Children aren’t allowed to pick them up, but as a full-grown adult who is as excited as a child, I get the best of both worlds(and get to make kiddos happy while I hold out kittens for them to pet like I work there while giving the teens who actually do a break). Win-win. In addition the kitten palace(as if you need to know any more), there are goats, fish, myriad birds, horses, apple picking, a pumpkin patch, tractor rides, a 3-D «haunted» house and silo, magic and puppet shows, delicious cider and cider donuts, two corn mazes, and more for an entire afternoon of fun during their fall festival weekends. At night, Eugster’s turns into Screamin’ Acres, a decent haunted house. Not the scariest, but not a cake walk, either. At other times of year Eugster’s offers up some of the tastiest sweet corn I’ve ever had along with other goods at their farm market. They have special events throughout the year and also offer school and corporate trips to the farm. The kitten palace, though. I don’t know if anything will ever top that for me.

There are aspects of this place we like(apples are great, lots for kids to do) but there is one huge glaring CON: The café. We went here hungry, hoping to find delicious typical farm food(hot buttered corn anyone?) only to find an overcrowded, overpriced mess. They serve two items, essentially: a hot dog and potato soup. The hot dog was just that – a cheap wiener served on a gross white bun. Condiments? Salt, pepper, and packs of yellow mustard. C’MON! The soup tasted microwaved from frozen. They also serve apple cider donuts which I was really excited about, only to discover these too were disgusting. So sad! What a wasted opportunity. In addition, there were only two high chairs(that I could count) in a room full of MANY, MANY kids, so I had to feed my one year old on my lap. NOTIMPRESSED. This made my family grumpy and unable to enjoy the rest of the farm experience.

Made my first trip to Eugsters’ Farm last weekend for the«fall festival» and it was a blast. They have everything to tickle your fall fancy. Corn mazes(yes, plural), a petting zoo, pumpkin patch, hayride, haunted(ish) house, apple cider, apple picking and a kitten palace! We planned on being there for a short visit and stayed almost 4 hours. The $ 9 entry fee seemed totally worth it by the end. Pro tip: don’t buy your pumpkins at a grocery store, get them here for 1⁄3 the price.

This is a new family favorite. A nice spot with plenty of animals to see and pet and feed. Eugster’s farm is impeccably maintained. The staff is warm and informative. The animals are well cared for. Compared to other places that cater to families, the price of the visit is quite reasonable. During the summer, 5 dollars for anyone over 24 months. They encourage you to bring your own picnic and there are plenty of places to eat with shade. The only other costs would be buying a bottle for $ 1 if you want to feed to goats and a 25 cents if you want to give feed to the chickens or sheep. You can also buy ice cream, seriously delicious cookies and produce that is in season. We saw goats, turkeys, peacocks, chickens, horses, donkeys, a cow, a pony, pigs, sheep, bunnies and more. We all loved the Kitten Palace, which allows you to spend time with some sweet kitties from the Darlington Rescue. There’s also a big sand box, a garden to help water and a nice play set. All of this, and only a 20 minutes drive from Madison!

The kids love it here! You can pet all kinds of animals and feed most of them. Their favorite activity is feeding baby bottles to the little goats. Sometimes they even get to milk one of the goats at milking time. There are also tractors tricycles to ride, a playground, and a garden to water flowers. The kitten house gets a little crowded, so be on the lookout for it to empty out to avoid some of the chaos and bring lots of quarters.

I love this farm. Every time we have come the place is well kept, animals look healthy, and the staff is nice and knowledgeable. My kids have more fun here then any other place in the area. The kitten barn is a huge hit. They have enough to keep the kids occupied and give adults a chance to let the kids be kids and enjoy nature. I’m lucky this is so close!

Cutest farm I’ve ever been to. Make sure you get there early to bottle feed the baby goats. We got there just in time.

Overpriced for the experience. $ 8 for anyone over two. What do you get for that? A small petting zoo and a tractor ride to the pumpkin patch. We’ve gone here quite a bit in the past, but will probably go get pumpkins elsewhere in the future.
