Maxie’s Deli

So far I’ve been here for about 15 minutes and just a coffee. But, no menu. Waitress has been a little nasty because I didn’t know what I wanted without a menu. It’s been 10 minutes since I’ve started this review and out of coffee with no waitress in site. More to come. Ok it’s been 10 more minutes and still no more coffee. Waitress is busy talking. And not working. In 2 minutes I am walking out. My breakfast was cold and sucked. Done!!! Never coming here again

First time there, and I was pleasantly surprised. Even though the places seems extremely small on the outside it actually has a dining room that is quite big. The Texas styled french toast was spectacular and I would extremely likely go there again. The prices are great! The reason why I am only giving it four stars is that they were out of English muffins.

Solid Jewish deli. The best thing I like from there are the knishes. I used to go here for breakfast occasionally but the breakfast is only average and I have found a better place for breakfast. I would go here for corn beef sandwiches though.

I love the food here! The menu is big, so I try to come a couple times a month for breakfast.

I’ve had some ok breakfasts here but I agree with the review that called the pastrami «inedible.» A bizarre combination of fatty, chewy and flavorless.

The food was inedible. I mean that literally. We got lunch, and the corned beef and pastrami were so tough I could not chew them. Also, the fries were barely recognizable as such.

Wanted to try different breakfast places and stumbled upon this place. Seated right away and given coffee (always a plus!) Large selection from the menu as you can have breakfast all day or lunch. Ordered an omelet– it was huge! All in all it was a good breakfast and we will be returning!

As good as the deli I used to have when I lived in NJ and went to Katz’s and other Jewish delis in NYC. The corned beef and pastrami was as tasty and lean as it gets and melted in my mouth like butter. My friend, I believe, had a reuben and LOVED it. Chicken soup was spectacular, too. A special shout out to our extra special nice server, Debbie (on Monday July 7). Can’t wait to return and will spread the word to my friends. Thanks for a great overall experience and food!

well, I just had the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. I am relatively new to canton and although my boyfriend and I already have our favorite breakfast places, we were in a rush this morning and decided to give this place another try. the boy was pleased, he got corned beef hash. I, on the other hand, ordered chocolate chip pancakes which came with eggs and home fries. the pancakes were okay, but the POWDERED scrambled eggs were not edible. the home fries were completely burnt and blackened. te boy didn’t mind his home fries since he covers them with ketchup, but for someone who doesn’t use condiments it was awful. on the upside, the water tasted fine…
the service wasn’t great either. our waitress seemed very overwhelmed; due to the different type of seating layout, I couldn’t tell how many tables she had. her visits were few and far between, and all of the customers around us were either rolling their eyes or debating walking out, since they had waited ridiculously long just to order drinks.
one woman, who could have been hostess? maybe shift manager or head waitress? I don’t know but she walked by a couple who appeared very irritated and asked them if they’d like more coffee. the woman replied «no thanks, but I would like to order» and the woman simply walked away without acknowledging this customers request.

horrid food. it was unprepared, undercooked and tasted like crap. i was feeling sick after i ate my burger. again go to a different place if you dont want to get sick

Decent food, decent prices but the people that work here are miserable. They act annoyed when you show up and getting a smile out of the staff is like pulling teeth.

I wanted to walk out of Maxie’s this morning because of the worst waitress in America. A man told us where to sit then seated the next party next to us. She then spent the next 20 minutes yelling and bitching to him for double seating her section and yelling at a boy named Zach for just about everything. Take it out on them in private in a back room. Not in front of customers. Totally unprofessional. After the first five minutes I asked my husband if we could leave but he was to embarrassed. What a way to make you feel like your business is appreciated. She was pleasant enough to our face but then walked to the other area and yelled at Zach for something new. Very slow service. Waited over 35 minutes for food. The French toast was yummy, scrambled eggs bland, sausage greasy, bacon good. $ 25 for the 2 of us (my husband got a few extras and had a big breakfast). I don’t think I’ll be back again because this waitress made the whole meal unpleasant. I wanted to tip her less so she would know she was awful but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I figured I write it here and management can do what they want with it.

Disgusting. Dirty everything tasted like fish. The salami was weird looking and our total was pricey. I threw away my turkey wrap I was so disgusted. She also didn’t put thing on my wrap I asked for.

This IS NOT a legitimate Kosher Deli.WTF.They carry NOTHING but Boars Head deli products… and don’t make their own corned beef. give me a break!!! They are living on a past reputation!!! OMFG. Boars Head in a Jewish Style Deli!!!

My boyfriend raves about this place, but that doesn’t say much because he will eat corn beef and hash out of the can. (dog food)
I was excited to try this place out because the reviews looked great! What a HUGE disappointment! The place was 100 degrees. We both had to stripped down to our t-​shirts. (Sweet dripping down our faces) The service was slow and the atmosphere was dull. I felt like I was chilling in someones old basement sitting on their trashy chairs.
I ordered scrambled eggs and french toast. Everything was very bland and gross.
I can cook better!
If your looking for dog food then you have come to the right place!

Got the hand carved turkey sandwich with stuffing and cranberry, basically what others call a Gobbler, and a corned beef sandwich with provolone on a bulkie roll with cottage cheese and pickles. Both were really good
Potato latkes and cheesecake are also good here

From what I tasted, this is the real deal.
Breakfasts are HUGE. The pancakes are dinner plate-​sized.
deli sandwiches aren’t heaping, but i prefer them a normal size so I can take a normal bite! i had the tongue (i always do!) and it was sliced nice and thin, and not too fatty. the pickle spear was huge and crunchy, and potato salad was nicely flavored, and not «gloopy» as it can be sometimes.
potato knishes are TO.DiE. the pastry was light and flaky and the potato filling was perfectly smooth… almost like a blintze!
prices were great too. $ 8 for my sandwich, and i got leftovers for lunch the next day.

Great legit Kosher deli without the city prices… or the city hassles. I went for a corned beef sandwich and the portion was pretty generous. There was a lot of corned beef, the cissel bread held up nicely, and the mustard had some good kick. The beef was lean, flavorful, and fairly plentiful. For the price, compared to places like Brookline, it’s a good value.
The potato salad was a bit lacking in flavor and quantity, but the half-​sour pickle spear was a nice accompaniment.
Service was fine, as the guy doing my sandwich was polite and prompt. The location isn’t the sexiest, but it’s decent enough to eat in (I do take-​out).

Stopped in before visiting Ikea. We like sandwiches so I did a search in the Stoughton area and thought this might be a little different than a DeAngelos.
It was. Great sandwiches! Wife had an Egg Salad on Marbled Rye with chips and I had a Romanian Pastrami on Dark Rye with some potato salad.
Both were very good.
Service adequate. You could tell when regulars came in as they were greeted by name. That’s cool.
We would come back again if in the area. In a strip mall sort of thing so if we weren’t looking for it we most likely would have passed it by. Most likely.

Been coming here for a while now, usually for breakfast or lunch.
Can’t go wrong with the sandwiches. For breakfast I usually order one of the combinations, corned beef hash and eggs. I’m partial to lox as well, so their variety of lox preparation is good. Lox ‘n eggs, or getting a platter with bagel.
One gripe is that the orange juice is a single serving bottle. The coffee is good.
Kind of a local joint, but good none-​the-​less. There’s a reason I keep coming back. It can be crowded at times though, and they close at 3:00 PM M-​Sat and on Sunday at 2:00
A good plus is they have Wi-​Fi.
Side note: it can be odd being the only Asian in this location, but it does not deter from the good food.
