After reading the reviews on here, I was a bit hesitant to check this place out. I ended up doing so anyway and the only good thing I can say is the selection of books. As for the actual store, it’s musty and I had to leave sooner then expected. I headed downstairs to the Used Books section which wasn’t even lit. I wondered if I was even allowed down there. It was like I’d walked into a poorly lit horror movie. The dust was awful, even though there was such an amazing selection, it was hard to breathe. I did find a shelf of paperback books for a good deal but that was it. I wasn’t able to spend any time upstairs due to the smoke and stuffiness. The shop is very dirty. I would not recommend going in there if you have children or asthma. I had my money out and ready by the time I got to checkout. I won’t be returning, I’d much rather hit a cleaner store and pay full price just for the pleasant shopping experience.

I’ve been to small«quirky» bookstores all over the country and this place, unfortunately, is the worst. Most items are in plastic bags, covered in an inch of dust, with no pricing. The owner has an incredible selection of Star Trek books. Unfortunately, nothing is priced. You have to pick out what you want and he will look up the price in a Star Trek collectibles price guide from the 90’s. He explained that he thought that the pricing was fair since it’s old. Unfortunately for him, the internet has driven prices down significantly for these types of «collectibles». The prices he came up with were exorbitant. I’m not really sure why he doesn’t price everything like a normal store. It’s not like the pricing is going to change since he’s using an out-of-print price guide from the 90’s. To top it all off the owner is rude. I was chastised for moving books around while browsing. Really? I forgot to mention I spent a good part of the 90’s working in bookstores. Dealing with customers moving books while browsing is a cost of doing business. The lack of pricing, dust everywhere, and the owner’s bad attitude guarantee that I’ll never be back in this store again. And that is a shame considering the selection he has of things I’d be interested in buying.

Unbelievably terrible customer service. I was treated so rudely by the owner I was stunned they were even still in business. Definitely wouldn’t recommend or set foot in that store again. Too bad really.

This crushes me to give a business a bad review, but I was thoroughly unimpressed with this bookstore. Located at the heart of this small and picturesque town, I expected a clean, bright, and friendly atmosphere where I could support my local economy while also indulging in my love of books. The owner of the shop is a smoker, and repeatedly smokes inside the store. The books are loosely organized by genre, and their is a thick layer of dust and smoke grime over everything. Although the owner is a pleasant man, the store looks disheveled and uncared for. I won’t be returning, sad to say.
