Ciro’s Pizza

This has got to be one of the best NY style pizzas this side of NY City. Flavor abounds with the fresh mozzarella, sauce, and what ever toppings you prefer. I have stopped by for a slice at lunch time, plain cheese is awesome. Tonight I ordered a small pie with sausage and onion. It was delivered to my hotel fresh, hot, and delicious in under 30 minutes

I’ve lived in the Northern Shenandoah Valley for 10 years, and somehow never noticed Ciro’s Pizza in Strasburg, although I have driven by it many times. I suppose, because it’s tucked away near a corner in a small shopping center, nearly obscured by a Food Lion grocery store. My wife and I are always on the lookout for new places to dine in our area. My wife recently discovered Ciro’s while surfing the net. We decided to give it a go after reading a few positive reviews. For our first visit, we decided to order their namesake, a Neapolitan style cheese pizza. We added a garden salad to round things out, and had iced tea for our beverage.
First, the pizza/​crust was a little above average. The crust was neither overcooked nor undercooked, it was crisp but not tough, and was more dry than greasy. If I had to really critique the pizza, I would say that the sauce was a bit too bland for our tastes and more cheese on top would have been better. Nevertheless, in comparison to other local places, it was somewhat better than average.
The salads were fresh and contained Iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, chopped tomatoes, carrots, onion, and grated cheese. I had the Italian dressing and my wife had Ranch. She noted that the ranch was exceptionally thick, a positive when compared to some of the watery dressings some places serve. The tea was good as well. It was a positive dining experience, and we certainly will visit again to try some of their other selections.

We were super hungry at 11pm after a long day exploring the local area and we were super excited to find a place open until midnight. First they have no menu available on the web but we called anyway and asked if they have pasta and they said yes. We then asked if they delivered which they also replied yes. When we proceeded to place our order we were told it was too late to make what we wanted. Boooo. If you are open for another full hour why can’t you make all items on your menu. Pasta probably takes less time than pizza anyway. We are very disappointed and you have lost 2 customers.

If you have two normal size portion eaters you can easily split an entrée as you get that much food. I prefer to take what’s leftover home for another lunch and or late night snack. The medium pizza here would be a large size at most restaurants. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is wonderful. Italian music in the background with delicious food. I don’t see how you could go wrong.

Great Pizza. Not as greasy as a true NY slice but highly recommended.

6 girlfriends and I stopped here on our way home from skiing. We had various personal pan pizzas and subs and everyone enjoyed their freshly made food. Clean with good service too.
