A must for any date night, foodie, or close family dinner. Small unique place with a great love for good food presented beautifully. Farm to table mentality. The meat and cheese plate is a must and would be perfect with a red. Everything is delicious and changes often so look at the venue on line before you go.

For ‘Amish Country’ you absolutely cannot beat this romantic dinner place. We actually saw someone get engaged while we were there. Great food and wine. Staff was the best and had a smile on their faces all night, it’s clear they love working here. The pastry chef gets my vote for best dessert ever. Chocolate salted caramel graham cracker pie. And that is saying a LOT coming from a person who doesn’t like chocolate. Can I have the recipe??? Please??? We are coming back as we come up that way about 2 – 3 times a year. We love this place! Gentlemen, if you are trying to find a romantic spot to take your girl while you are planning a trip with her to this area, make a reservation here. She will be impressed! :)

No doubt the best restaurant within 4 counties. A wonderful, foodie restaurant. Lovely dining room. Super friendly, real people servers. Delicious tapas appetizers & salads. One of the best steaks we’ve ever had. Definitely one of the very best chocolate desserts we’ve ever had. Really nice wine list. All in all, a fabulous meal at a wonderful restaurant that absolutely, positively exceeded our every expectation. Very highly recommended!!!

What a fun little place tucked in to the main stretch of Strasburg(aka. Stras-Vegas)! We were lucky enough to call at 6:15 on a Saturday and obtain a reservation for 2 at 6:45. Reservations are key here. The dining room looks to only seat about 35 – 40 people. I’m sure that fills up quickly on a weekend. As first time visitors, our server, Chris, gave us the lay of the land as far as menu and drinks. Their menu is changed out every two weeks, and everything was delicious! My husband ordered the filet mignon with bleu cheese crumbles, bacon, carmelized onions and mashed potatoes. Amazing! I went outside my usual box and tried a lamb shank with carrots(probably the most amazing carrots I’ve ever had) and polenta. Not being regular wine drinkers, we were planning on just trying some wines in a flight and then ordering a bottle of our favorite. Miss Chris did us one better. She took us back to the tasting room and gave us our own mini tasting session based on our general wine preferences, and we chose a bottle from there. Perfect! Finally, we had to top off the anniversary dinner with a dessert, so we went with the bread pudding that, «even the Amish girls crave,» — which if you’ve had Amish anything… it’s amazing. And this topped the list! Executive Chef and Owner Sherry Schie is a rock star. Take the opportunity to meet her when you go. She’s been on the Food Network with Guy Fieri in «Guy’s Grocery Games» and she’s got big things coming in her future!

Perfection! This place is a gem. We tasted various wines with the owner. You feel her passion. Extremely knowledgable on various wines. The food was amazing. Veggies from local farms, meats from local butchers, presentation was perfect. If something wasn’t cooked to your liking they redid it. It’s all about exceeding expectations. Deserts that are made fresh on site daily! Make the trip you will not be disappointed!

The ambience was lovely, the food was delicious, the service was top notch and the wine list larger than it really needed to be. We had a great evening.

What a dining experience! Sherry, the exec chef and owner, makes you feel like youre in her home with her warm, generous, gracious personality. The food and cocktails are unbelievably excellent. Get the blue cheese fondue!

Unique and unexpected dinning experience in a small Ohio town. Service was exceptional and you truly felt the staff cared that your dining experience was delightful. My wife had the salmon purses which described as wonderful and I can say the same for the futomaki rolls. To top it off the homemade desserts and ice ream was some the best we have had. My only concern is the limited menu.

That little place in Strasburg? Change your tune! «THE» place in Strasburg! Be ready for a PRISTINE and SERVICEDRIVEN establishment! The Service was incredible! Flights of wine were absolutely delicious and the options were plenty. Dinner and Tapas menu is top of the line. Focused on quality and not quantity, our meals were prepared and presented with absolute perfection. The food was full of flavor and portion size was right on! Dessert kept it simple yet not typical! Handmade ice cream and cake was the finish line and we crossed it nicely! Head to exit 87 off of Interstate 77 and being your group of friends for a night out! Wine tasting at it’s best!

So charming, so delicious! Sherry’s(the owner) passion is so apparent! You feel like you are dining in her home. We went for Tapas Tuesday and shared 4 small plates… the Buffalo Fries were my favorite; sounds basic but they were soooo not! Big slices of potatoes, so tender, chicken pieces that melted in your mouth, blue cheese dressing drizzled on every bite… love love! If you are in the Canton area the drive is relaxing through the country side to get down there. Great escape for date night, do it!

When you think of Strasburg, Ohio; you don’t typically think of «fine dining». Usually when you hear«Strasburg» and«restaurant» you think of a greasy fried chicken dinner after church at the good old«Chicken Manor». Believe me when I say, this is nothing like that. In the best way possible. Shy Cellars, is located on Route 21, just north of town. It’s about a 20 minute drive from Massillon, 25 from Canton, and I’m guessing about 10 from Dover/New Philly. Located on the east side of the road, the building itself looks like an old residential home turned into a restaurant. Not exactly what you would expect for«fine dining», but once inside you forget all about the exterior. Once through the front door, you step into a cozy dining area, with seating for a maximum of 30 patrons or so. Fireplaces, warm country feel, and an open window into the kitchen give this a very«homey» feel. To the left there is also a wine tasting room. The size of this place can’t be more than 600 sq ft. Because of that, it’s best that you get a reservation. I called the morning of, and got the only seats left at 8:00pm. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated at a two top right next to the kitchen. It’s an open concept, so if you were so inclined, you could watch your meal being created from start to finish. That’s kind of neat, especially for this area. Our server suggest a few wines, so we started with a flight($ 10.00) featuring three sweet wines. I enjoyed one of them a lot, so I got a glass. It was a sweet red called«St. James Velvet Red»($ 6.00). We we’re also told by others to try and fondue. So we did the blue cheese based fondue.($ 14.00). It came out quickly with an Italian crusty bread to go with it. It was very rich, and very good. Not for the faint of heart if you don’t like a thick cheese dip. We ran out of bread about halfway through, and she quickly brought us some more. We split a side salad, which turned out to be a gourmet wilted salad($ 7.00). Came with white raisins, cranberries, goat cheese and bacon. Most salads are a whole bunch of lettuce with just a little«stuff». This seemed to be like a lot of «stuff» with just a little lettuce. A nice surprise. The entrees are limited to three a night, so they can ensure everything is as fresh as possible. Of the three, I chose the pork Wellington($ 26). It came out on a bed of freshly made mashed potatoes, string beans, with a sweet demi glaze. The pork itself was wrapped in a puff pastry, and paired with a goat cheese filling. The pork was cooked fine, but I wish it had just a little more flavor. Usually goat cheese is overpowering, but paired with the pork and puff pastry, it didn’t stand out as much as I had expected. It was a good dish, just not great. The potatoes were wonderful, and the demi glaze was tasty. String beans were also good, and neatly presented atop the Wellington. We also tried one of the flatbreads($ 15.00), which had different cheeses, bacon, and a few other items. I can’t honestly remember off the top of my head. What I can remember is that it was a really good rendition of a flatbread, with just the right amount of blackened crisp, and an adequate, but not over-the-top amount of toppings. I have always felt like«less is more» when it comes to toppings. If you have good ingredients, let them speak for themselves without piling too many on. Shy Cellars did this wonderfully. We didn’t opt for dessert, but had heard praises from the other tables. Next time we head down, we’ll skip the fondue and go for a dessert for sure. For drinks, an appetizer, salad, and two entrees the bill came to a little more than $ 80, close to $ 100 including gratuity. If you can afford it, it’s a great weekend spot. For the rest of us, I would save it for something a little more special. Overall, it’s a welcome and nice addition to an area that is vastly underserved in the«fine, fresh, dining» arena. I think right now, Shy Cellars is still the best kept secret in the area, but I wouldn’t expect that to last long.

My wife and I heard about this restaurant by chance from a friend and it is one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Northeast Ohio. A VERY small place(holds about 25 – 30 people), but the food is outstanding, fresh, and the service is EXCELLENT. If I could give this restaurant more than five stars, I would. We went there for our anniversary and they treated us extremely well, even going so far as to have an anniversary card on the table signed by the staff. Make sure if you go to call for reservations. We went on a Wednesday evening and there were people waiting to sit down by the time we left — and it’s in the middle of nowhere! The atmosphere was extremely homey and comfortable. Fresh herbs and vegetables grow right outside the entrance and the kitchen — including the dishwashing area is visible to the customer to see how clean and efficient they are. There are only two entrée menu items each night, so you want to check out their web site. They only serve what’s fresh and available. Great restaurant! +

Stop what you’re doing and take your favorite people to this restaurant. I was in town from Boston visiting friends when they took me to this AMAZING restaurant. Wicked cool thing #1: it looks like a house and feels like a home inside. WCT#2: you can sample wines for .25 each while waiting for your whole party. Amazing wine selection and oh so knowledgable owners! WCT#3: open kitchen… ‘Nuff said. To the food. GETTHESALAD. It’s the best I’ve ever had and I am not just saying that. The flatbreads are all divine and pair perfectly with the salad for a full meal. We also got a bowl of the bolognese pasta which was to die for. THEDESSERTS… We shared the 3 piece sampler and my goodness the apple cheesecake thing — lets just say I will be dreaming about it for years. So, in short, GOHERE. Go here now :) Thanks for an AMAZING meal!
