As the name entails this business is a business dedicated to the wide world of breastfeeding. Although one of the most natural things a woman can do, it does not come without it’s own trials and tribulations. There’s also a lot more that goes into it than putting a baby on your breast. For hands on help with everything to latching, mastitis, supply, clogged ducts this is the place to be. I personally did not learn anything new here that I didn’t already read or watch a video about — but if you are a hands on learner or want to check weight before and after nursing this is a great option for you. The staff is compassionate, understanding and know their stuff. Appointment times here are not set, take as much time as you need — but please be mindful that Moms with newborns take precedence over a one year old so you may have to wait a bit longer — but you won’t be rushed come your turn. Rooms have rockers, couches, they’re every comfortable and like home. I would have liked a few more visits as my journey with my son has continued but I’m in a funny situation where my insurance considers this a specialist so the co pay is $ 60, and they charge per person — meaning me and the baby, so each visit is $ 120. I’ve been sticking to local free meetings with«counselors» because of the cost — but if you’ve got it, are close, this certainly can be beneficial. Of course when I visited the issues we were having didn’t happen, so it was a wasted trip and copay. No fault of the company but I wish they would have proactively offered me to return at no additional cost since they basically just watched me nurse.

I was recommended to go here by a friend who is a new lactation consultant/nurse because my son was not gaining weight and my nipples were very painful, cracked, and bleeding. The LC that I have met with has been wonderful. My son was 4 weeks old when we first went and had just gotten back to his birth weight. We have gone 3 times and he has already gained over 2lbs! He no longer needs my pumped milk after nursing because he has been latching on so much better and my pain has gone almost completely away! We were given a nipple shield in the hospital with no directions as to how to stop using it and I am now only using it for some of the feedings and some of those not even the whole time! He’s been doing such a great job learning and adjusting to the new techniques that my LC has shown me. I also am so appreciative of her patience when I get frustrated or upset; she understands my emotions better than me! She never rushes us; we were there almost 3 hours the first appt! The time has been very well spent. They also have weekly support group meetings.
