This place is always packed and everything good. Quaint little shop with deliciously satisfying sandwiches and killer orange ice cream.

One of the most amazing places ever! If you’re ever in town, this is a must stop and visit. I’ve been going to this cute little sandwich & ice cream shop for over 10 years now and I just can’t think of a reason to not go there. I will just never have enough of their daily freshly squeezed homemade orange ice cream. It’s most certainly the best orange ice cream on earth and you can not find it anywhere else. What makes this place exciting is their special ice cream flavor of the day, which changes daily. Their sandwiches are great! I personally love the tri-tip sandwich with garlic toasted. When I do order a sandwich, I’d make it a lunch special. That way it comes with a bag of chips, a drink, and ice cream! Not least to mention, their prices are just right. So if you’re a visitor, foreigner, or local(shame on you if you haven’t) and simply wanting to grab a bite, stop by this hidden gem. You will not be disappointed and will thank me that you did!

This was the cutest find on our drive back to LA from Sequoia! My sister found it on Unilocal so we stopped in for lunch. Right away as we pulled into the parking lot we loved it with all the cute orange themed décor on the outside of the restaurant. Food(5): They have a great lunch special for a sandwich, iced tea AND ice cream for like $ 10(I can’t remember the exact price). I got the tri-tip sandwich which was good, but my 5-star rating goes to the ORANGEICECREAM. Good lord that was the most delicious creation ever. You could taste the orange pulp so it made it even better knowing it was made from fresh oranges. Ambiance(3.5): The restaurant is small and fit around 10 tables. Not super fancy but not grungy. They also sold jams, pickled veggies and dried goods. Service(5): Service was awesome! There were five of us trying to decide what to order but they were very patient while taking the order. The cashier even gave us samples of the ice cream and told us they would bring them out after we finished our lunch. Why can’t all places be like this?! Then when they brought our stuff out, my mom decided she wanted to try a combo ice cream of pistachio and orange and the guy brought her out another ice cream with no charge. So nice! I wish this place was closer because I would go alll the time for their ice cream. But at least I know where to go for a pit stop the next time I travel to Sequoia. Everyone must try this place!

Cute little restaurant surrounded by the orchards where the oranges come from. We got to see a truck of oranges pull up-the little boys LOVED that! The lunch combo(we got tri-tip and roasted turkey sandwiches) with the orange sherbet(made in house with FRESH oranges) was good, but my favorite part was the dining experience of eating the oranges while surrounded by the orchards.

I live in the area and have been buying delicious ice cream here all my life. I stopped here to buy ice cream for Christmas in the last week. They were extremely nice to me and gave me an extra quart for free. Their sandwiches are also pretty good.

We’ve passed back this place with always the intent to stop but they are closed on Sunday’s(typically when we drive by) and they only keep lunch hours. The wait was worth it though. We were able to have lunch there yesterday and the food and service is excellent. Friendly staffers greet you as soon as you arrive. The menu offers sandwiches. You can upgrade to a combo meal which includes chips and their speciality ice cream. They make awesome orange ice cream that reminds me of orange Julius. They also had a secondary seasonal flavor(persimmon) which changes every day. Tip: if you are paleo or watching your carbs — they serve all their sandwiches lettuce wrap style!

I’m rating a 1 star only because I can’t give zero stars. This business is ran by poor staff who blocked me from Facebook because of a comment I posted on their page letting people know that they could still purchase ice cream, and sandwiches at Central Valley Healthy Snacks even though they aren’t using the orange Works name. How pathetic! For those that don’t know Central Valley Healthy Snacks located in Visalia on Main Street was carrying their products and using their name for a short period but up until yesterday that all changed for some reason I am unaware of. Orange Works then posted on their page they aren’t serving anything there, which isn’t true because they are just aren’t using their name«Orange Works» They were so afraid that they felt they had to delete and block me. I will make it my life mission to spread the word around, I know a lot of people in Visalia and know a lot of business owners who will back up CVHS and help her continue in her business endeavors whatever they may be. Who cares if she’s serving what your serving way before you came along she did soups, sandwiches and smoothies that were just as great if not better! So FYI people soft serve ice cream and better than orange works sandwiches are still being served at Central Valley Healthy Snacks in downtown Visalia!

I suggest you try the lettuce wrap vegetarian sandwich and their orange ice cream. I always order that combo. They are crazy busy at the lunch hour so either call an order ahead of arrival or visit them at a different time.

Orange works is a priceless little gem located in Porterville, California. This place is home to some of the most delicious sandwiches ever. The menu is brief, but they do what they do very well. Their veggie option features smokey, delicious roasted eggplant, soft, potato style bread and a pesto mayo. The crowning jewel of this establishment is their fresh ice cream. Everyday they serve their classic orange flavor, paired with a special flavor of the day. The décor, while unimpressive, stays true to its name sake with orange umbrellas, orange paint etc. dress is casual.

I have been working all summer in Poplar, CA and so many of the teachers there have been raving over this place so today I decided I would give it a try. I got the tri-tip lunch special with an iced-tea and half orange/half strawberry banana ice cream. Tri-tip: I made a mistake getting the pesto mayo on it. I don’t really like mayo and the concoction is more mayo than pesto. I should also probably mention it’s a cold sandwich. I’ve never had tri-tip like that before, but honestly I really enjoyed it. Oh and the bread on the sandwich was DELICIOUS. Iced tea: Freaking yummy. I loved it. Ice cream: 5 stars. I’m not even a big strawberry banana person, but I really loved it. I will also be having dreams about that orange ice cream. It makes me so sad that I live 1 hr ½ away! The only thing I would do different is skipping the pesto mayo, but that’s a personal preference and has nothing to do with the quality of food this place offers! I will be back before my last day at the end of this month!

Holy shit, best freaking ice cream ever! The orange is so fresh and sweet yet tart with the perfect consistency! If you could squeeze and process a frozen orange you still couldn’t get any better than this! The coffee ice cream was so flavorful and strong! Oh my freakin goodness! Great deal for a sandwich, ice cream, tea and chips! Ice cream and service 5 stars, sandwiches for me were just a 3, bread is super thick and next time I’ll ask for more pesto mayo! Worth the drive!

Homemade orange ice cream what more can I say?! So everyday they have a different flavor(the two times I went it was vanilla and then cherry ///but I saw other ones on their facebook like almond joy, strawberry, and watermelon) and they have the classic orange. The ice cream taste sooooo fresh! You can even see the orange grinds in the ice cream. I know its definitely straight from the grove. The café is small and quaint. There’s seating indoors and outside but its usually too hot to eat outside. There a small«powder» room. This little café is everything that you would possibly need for a nice afternoon out. I got to try two sandwiches the Tri-tip and the turkey! They were both great! The meat was nice and tender and very flavorful. All the sandwiches come with lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion. And since I got a combo I got the sandwich, ice cream, a drink(the have great ice tea with an orange wedge in it!), and a bag of chips for only $ 8.99! Definitely a steal :]
