Sitting at the mountain trying to figure out where to grab dinner, didn’t really want to drive the 45 minutes to a city big enough to get a decent bite to eat. We were told about this place, so we decided to try. On a Saturday night at about 6:45 they said they were completely booked up for the rest of the night at the tables. We looked in the bar section where you could seat yourself and found a pretty good spot for 2 at a booth against the window. We were served almost right away as we sat down, I was impressed. We started off with the fire tower shrimp. Wow… those were some good flavors on that shrimp, a bit of spice, I recommend trying. I haven’t had a shrimp dish I’ve enjoyed like that in many years. A great start for the rest of dinner, we both loved it. For dinner we ended up getting the sausage & kale cavatapp and a margherita flatbread. Both were excellent. The flatbread/pizza was awesome, the little tomatoes used on it were very good, the prosciutto, the balsamic drizzle, they were all awesome in their own right, and together, its like you understood what the chef was going for, getting a little of everything in each bite. It was one of those rare dining experiences where you feel like you just get it, and it tastes amazing. The sausage & kale cavatapp, wow, wow is all I can really say. Just imagine a typical pasta looking dish, imagine taking a bight, and then getting something that tastes 10 times better than what you are used to getting for that dish. I don’t understand what the chef did to make those flavors stand out like they did, maybe it was the«tomato vodka alfredo» but I felt like I was tasting something the way it was meant to be made, very impressed with the flavors of that dish. We didn’t end up doing desert, we were pretty full, but next time, after experiencing 3⁄3 on dishes we ordered and loved, I think we’d get something just based on the fact that everything this place made for us has been executed great so far. The thought being«it has to be good». Props to the chef/kitchen staff. Service staff was great too. 5 stars.

My husband and I came to Stratton for our wedding anniversary. For our first night we had dinner at the fire tower. We expected a bar like atmosphere but to our surprise it was far more elegant and cozy. Our waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable while explaining menu options. My husband had the pasta while I had the fish. Both were amazing with a unique flavor! The dessert menu had a nice variety, something for everyone. The restaurant is priced fairly to the quality of the food. We would come back.

Steak chili was awesome but the peanut butter pie! OMG. This is a top 10EVER dessert. Just out of this world. light whipped peanut butter filling with a crust that has chocolate and peanuts ground up and some nice crunch. I could eat a whole pie

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and politeness of the staff. This restaurant is the new L’osteau Brasserie for those who remember that expensively delicious restaurant. It really has something for everyone. For me that is the steak but I am forgetting which one and the Cesar salad. I was extremely impressed with the Cesar and it tasted delicious with the amazing kale they add in for a amazing flavor and taste. With a family of four our bill was 180 $ but after tip the meal cost us 210 $. Overall, we enjoyed it so much we are again to eat there tonight. Hope everyone enjoys their meal if you decided to eat at this fabulous restaurant and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The food was ok, drinks are good and both times I’ve been there the service has been really good. The people are nice and always with a smile. A good place to relax and have a drink after a ski day. Specially because the music level is low and you can comment with your friends and family about the day.

My husband and I really like the firetower. The jerk chicken wings are a must try. I have had many things on the menu and I am never disappointed. The service is good and the atmosphere is great. I recommend to anyone coming to Stratton :)

We chose Fire Tower based on its location to our condo. Menu was limited. Ordered the shrimp with lobster risotto. It was pricey at $ 31 and unfortunately I did not like it. Better off ordering the flatbreads which were quite tasty and much more affordable at $ 13. Save yourself some money and instead of eating in utilize their takeout menu which has additional affordable options. Lychee martini tasted more like cherry cough syrup than lychee.

As a local I totally appreciated my experience tonight. I have been disappointed too many times in this area but tonight was an exception. On point from host to end, the atmosphere was lovely, the staff was professional and the food was delicious and upscale for a very reasonable price. All in all, my date night was perfect. Thanks for a great night out!

My meal was perfect. We sat at the bar and were able to order dinner before the kitchen closed. Everything was absolutely delicious and the staff was super friendly and nice!

Eating outside watching people playing corn hole while I gobbled up Korean ribs falling off the bone over awesome kimchi, hubby eating lobster bisque which we both rated a 10! Waiting for stripped bass and I’m optimistic! Nice service, good vibe — winner!Yup – stripped bass with rice, veggies and tomatoes, done just right. I’ll b back. Yum!

Got a burger an beer, simple enough right? Burger was definitely a once frozen patty with only one slice of tomato and lettuce/onion. One slice of cheese was a dollar upcharge. Really? These guys make like %1200 profit on a package of kraft singles. For a 14 $ burger you would expect fresh meat and maybe some nice toppings. Too bad, its a nice looking place and my beer wasnt too badly priced. They just fit into the tourist trap subpar food for big bucks. I mean, really, how hard is it a cook a burger?

Gave it a second chance and very glad we did so. The food was awesome! We started with a tamale appetizer that was simply brilliant. So good that we used our bread to sop up the sauce. I had a flatbread with prosciutto and a balsamic vinegar that was really good. My wife liked her Greek salad. Cold beer :). Very helpful and attentive waiter. MUCH better experience than the first time we tried them.

Worst, the absolute worst service I’ve ever received in my entire life. Our order took more than an hour with no apology. I understand restaurants are crowded in mountain towns but that doesn’t excuse ignorance. If my meal were free I would not return. Awful.

Strangely dead when I was there mid-week. Appears only Killington can keep a crowd during the week in VT. Nothing really to write home about. Nice staff, decent food, good surroundings.

Definitely had to write a review after seeing this place’s mediocre rating on here. Came here on a Friday night after a day on the mountain to kick-off my birthday weekend and was thoroughly impressed! Sat at the bar by a framed«fireplace» and it was super cozy and we had great service from the bartenders. There were 4 of us and everyone loved their food and drinks! Started with the Potstickers and Elk Sausage Sampler. Have to say that the sausage was good on its own but the combination of everything on the plate was fantastic!!! Dinner: Samoan Tombo Tuna, Pork Porterhouse, Sausage and Kale Cavatappi, and a Venison that I can’t find on the menu. BESTENTREE: The venison!!! It will change the way you feel about venison! The whole next day I was thinking about it and it wasn’t even mine. Bottom line… the next day we went to an upscale restaurant in the village but we all said our meal was better here so don’t miss out!!!

We had the lobster flatbread, pizza and winter salad. They sounded good but didn’t deliver. The flatbread and pizza tasted like Little Ceasar’s pizza. Just hacked up in strips. The winter salad was a strange concoction. The greens tasted stale or maybe too fresh. It wasn’t the kale or beets which can be strong. Just had a heavy earthy taste. The butternut squash vinaigrette texture was more like soup. In fact our waiter forgot to mention the soup of the day. We would have preferred to have that instead. Food choices appear much better on paper. Besides that service was attentive and friendly. Apres ski with Stratton prices.

The food at Fire Tower cannot be beat; my meal Saturday night was perfection. We started by sharing the Churrasco Tamale(Pulled Beef Brisket, Chimichurri, Chipotle Aioli, Steamed Masa Cake, Salsa), which was a good sharing portion for two people. The brisket was so tender and well-seasoned — I’d love to see it featured in a three-piece taco entrée — and all the flavors melded together for an oral fiesta. I ordered the Bacon Old Fashioned, which certainly carried a punch but was smoothed out by a drizzle of Vermont maple syrup. For my entrée, I had the Mountain Primavera Lasagna(Pasta & Garden Vegetable Terrine, Fire Roasted Marinara, Hempseed Pesto, Yellow Pepper Coulis), which I was a little nervous about being a vegetarian option, but it was one of the best lasagnas I’ve ever had. It’s not quite your traditional veggie lasagna, but I thought it was better and lighter. The yellow pepper coulis really stole the plate show. The portion size, in my opinion, is just right — enough to satisfy but not to stuff. We capped off the meal by sharing the Lemon Pecan Crusted Cheesecake. I am not a fan of lemon desserts, but I could appreciate that this was well-executed and had more than a couple bites. It is definitely a lemon cheesecake with not much pecan flavor. Fire Tower is a beautiful, warm space, and I definitely favor the bar area or Porcupine Lounge over the main dining room for coziness and that real ski lodge feel. The service is a bit lackluster, especially for the price point. Four hostesses, and it was a challenge to get one’s attention. There was clearly an open table, but they told us it could be a 45-minute wait. What?!? Our waiter was adequate but lacked personality and didn’t fill water glasses from the bottle placed on the table. However, the food runners and cook who delivered our food were excellent! With somewhat limited dining options in the village, I’ll definitely return to Fire Tower — this Saturday actually — as it is a great option for a nice après-ski meal.

We started to have dinner at the Fire Tower this past winter when it opened. We always had a great experience so we decided to have my daughter’s rehearsal dinner there. We were so pleased. The staff was so professional and accommodating. The food was delicious thanks to Max, the chef. Peter the owner was so wonderful to work with and Ralph was there overseeing the whole party of 60 people. He was so helpful. It went so smoothly and everyone only had the best comments. Thank you all again for all you help and dedication!

Came here after a full day of snowboarding. Food was good. We had the Mac and Cheese and the Chicken Alfredo pizza. Good sized portions. We thought since we were eating by the bar portions would be small but each were pretty large. Good place for après ski.

We were staying in Long Trail House and stopped here for some beers after skiing before getting back to our condo. Ski rack right outside and no problem to walk around inside with ski boots. Interesting beer list with a few good local options on draft. Stay away from the Manchester Mule — no copper mug — not enough vodka — definitely not a legit Moscow Mule. The food menu looked alright once you got past the Stratton inflated prices. Gluten free options indicated, which included the pizza. The place was pretty packed after skiing, as you can imagine.
