First, let me say that my recent trip to David’s Bridal in Strongsville couldn’t have been more positive. Here’s why: My bridal party in tow, we were undergoing a marathon trip dress hunting this particular day. Getting married out of state presents a number of challenges– one of them concerns hauling a bulky wedding dress across the country. My goal was to find«the dress» this day, one way or the other. After thinking we had found«the one»(for me, the bride) at Catan’s Fashions down the road, we made a beeline for David’s Bridal, hoping to quickly try on a few gowns. The reason for our rush was due to a time constraint at Catan’s– we basically had 45 min. to try on as many gowns at David’s before we would have to rush back to Catan’s for alterations/pinning if I was going with their dress. It was crazy. Never fun to quickly make decisions on expensive things. Needless to say, we didn’t expect to really find anything at David’s…and quite honestly, we were almost hoping that would be the case considering the dilemma we faced. The easiest choice was to go with the initial dress we all loved at Catan’s. I had already made an appt. at David’s this day, following the one at Catan’s. Due to the rush we were in, I called ahead, seeing if we could get squeezed in roughly 45min. or so early. «No problem» said the woman from David’s over the phone. As soon as we arrived at David’s, huffing and puffing, we were rushed over to the first fitting room. I couldn’t believe how quickly the staff at David’s moved to accommodate our situation. Our stylist Indira happily pulled up my stored list of «faves» in their database… and proceeded to quickly bring out the dresses I had forgotten about– dresses I had picked out on their website 6 months or so ago! What a relief to have a clear starting point for our rushed shopping. Indira was calm, confident and extremely friendly– reassuring us that we could get through this effectively and timely. Indira stayed with us the whole time, personally assisting me in dress changes. 2nd dress in, I was sold! The dress is an amazing compromise of everything I was looking for. They immediately took me over for pinning for alterations. The process was seamless(pun intended). No delay whatsoever. Very willing to work within the constraints of my somewhat-short timeframe for no additional cost. Every person on their staff was extremely helpful and kind. I would go back to David’s in Strongsville in a heartbeat!

We stopped in here after my bridal appointment at Catan’s. I didn’t expect to find anything but wanted to gander through what they had for bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses. It was an hour before they closed. We were greeted by a woman sitting at a desk when we entered, but she was clearly less than pleased that we were there. I informed her I just wanted to look around, she told me I needed to register to do so, which I of course said I would if I found something I wanted to try on. She didn’t say a word, turned around and continued on with her business. We were the only people in the store, there were 4 – 5 workers and not one of them asked if we needed help or engaged us in any way. My mom found a dress and when we asked if she could try it on they said yes while rolling their eyes. This place is worthless and so are the woman that work there. Go elsewhere!

This is the 2nd trip I’ve made to a DB in 1 week. I. am. not. impressed. Let me preface this with the fact that I made it over 30 years before actually having to be in ANYONE’S wedding. The past 2 years have changed all that. I’m not sure how I got to be so popular, but this is obviously all the proof you will need. My 1st trip to DB was on a Saturday(note: don’t go on a Saturday if you want good, personalized service, it ain’t gonna happen). We waited over 5 minutes for a «consultant» to come and get us; why we waited I wasn’t sure. She was little to no help, whatsoever. I would have made a better«consultant» and I don’t work there. My 2nd trip to DB was yesterday. I decided I needed to try on a smaller size dress than the one I did on Saturday. Alas… DB didn’t have the size I needed. When I inquired about the size I need, the«consultant» said, «Let me check.» and heads toward the rack. Uh, hey lady! Do you think I’m so lazy that I brought this size over to you and didn’t bother to look through the rest to see if they had the smaller size? So this«consultant» decides to check the computer to see if another store has it so I can go try it on. She’s looking, and looking, and looking(meanwhile the mom with the screaming baby at the front of the store is saying«Why are you being bad, you’re a good girl, right?» and the kids screams, «NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!». And internally, I’m screaming, «NOOOOOOOO!!!».) and she says, I have to search all the colors for the size. Really?!? DB in all the years of operation, you don’t have a better dress /size search than this? And of course, she finds the dress in over 2 + hours away, because yeah, I’m really going to drive that far to try on a dumb dress. So I ask her, «How am I supposed to know if the dress will fit if you don’t have one for me to try on, and you’re not going to get this size in? To which she replies, we’ll measure you and from your largest measurement that will be your dress size. ACK! Explanation: I’m a hippy girl. I have a booty and hips that make it difficult for me to size. I’m little on top and therefore can often times, depending on the cut /fit of the dress, can get away with a very small size which belies my hipage. As it were, I was holding the size 6 looking for the size 4 because the dress was baggy on the top half and fortunately for me, this was an A-line dress. I tell the«consultant», «If you do that then I’ll be swimming in the dress». She makes me try on the 6, sees the problem(baggy, saggy boobies) and measures me, comes back and says, «You’re a 4.» Thank you. I exit to search for my dress on ebay at a reduced price because well, I have til October and I’m poor. Le Sigh… painful process for something so simple. I’m not impressed DB, with your«consultants» your quality, or your dumb computer set-up. If I EVER deign to get hitched, you’ll not find me setting foot in your stores thankyouverymuch!

I was there 4−12−14 for my 9:30am and was greeted by a pleasant lady ready to help. I had made my appointment online, but after reading the reviews, I was so nervous about if my much anticipated day of wedding dress try ons would be ruined. The greeter handed me off to Andrea, who went above and beyond to make me comfortable. She was unbelievably professional, kind, and appropriate. She had my list of favorite dresses printed out and gave me a tour of the store, showing me the different areas. She pulled the dresses and found some that were similar that I loved. I have heard horror stories about how plus sizes are much more expensive(I’m a 16w) but they weren’t. The plus sized dresses were just as gorgeous and reasonable as the smaller dresses. We found what we liked and started trying them on. She was so respectful and turned away trying to maintain my privacy and had wonderful suggestions. She interacted happily with my partner and my maid of honor and the 1.5 hour flew by! I ended up with a dream dress and an even better feeling of having such a wonderful experience.

Wow absolutely horrible. We arrived 45 minutes early for our appointment. The consultants were not helpful at all. They could even find a person to help us. We literally rotated with four workers. I tried on ONE dress due to the lack of acknowledgement of the staff no one had time to help us .so many consultants yet no one was willing to help. Pricy was for no reason Dresses were not clean and has nothing up to date. I left abruptly. What a waste of time.

I wish that I could give David’s in Strongsville a better review, but I just can’t. I had an 11:30 appointment and it took about 10 minutes for them to find me a consultant. Once they gave me someone, she ushered us to all the dresses and told us to go for it… We didn’t really have any direction and I felt rushed. How am I supposed to know how they organize the dresses? There were a TON of them and I was overwhelmed. What’s the point of a consultant if they don’t consult with you? I felt like I was at the Forever 21 of bridal shops(if you shop at Forever 21, you know what I mean…). Unfortunately they do not have private rooms and instead, everyone and their mom can see what you put on. It was a little unsettling and was not the private experience I was hoping for. Needless to say, I did not find my dress at David’s Bridal.

After having an amazing experience at another bridal store where no one harassed us, my mother and I stopped at David’s before heading home. The dresses were crap… they were ugly and poorly made. When they told me that they were having a «$ 99 dress sale», that should have been my first warning. They bullied me into registering with them, even though I asked repeatedly not to, and the manager practically assaulted me when I left with admonitions of «You know what you want now, right? You’ll call us and come back, right?» It was super awkward and completely off-putting.
