I really don’t understand the low ratings! This place is great. The price is right and the location is superb. I can walk right across the bridge into Stroudsburg and be on main street with tons of bars and restaurants! The hotel has always been clean for me and my friends and fiancé! We’ve stayed here several times. This is our 3rd year with econolodge actually and our 5th stay! Our rooms are always clean and well kept and the people are friendly and helpful as well as eager to please. For a well priced room in a wonderful, convenience location, you can’t ask for more! I’ll be back and continue to stay at this econolodge every time we are in the Poconos! Oh and for those saying the TVs are old and outdated, wrong. The TVs in the rooms we’ve stayed in have all been new LG flat screens.

Not exactly sure why all the one stars. For the value, this little hotel is perfectly adequate. $ 120 /night for a comfy bed, a room with AC, a TV, fridge, microwave and even a blow dryer and free wifi(which is more than I can say for a lot of «fancy» hotels!). The staff was nice and they even have a free continental breakfast. Yeah there was a tiny spot on the carpet in our room but the doors have good locks, and hey, no one stole anything from our room like the last«fancy» hotel I stayed in. If you are looking for luxury in the Poconos, look elsewhere, but all I did was use this place to crash after a wedding and it was perfect for that.

Not a bad place to stay if your standards arn’t too high. Fairly decent place for being as old as it is. The locks were updated from key to a key card. The bathroom tile was painted gray fron bule. I can see this through the crappy paint job. But I only notice this when when really looking. a quick qlance the average person wouldnt notice. The tv’s are so old they don’t make them anymore.(Tube tv) I really think they should get some flat screens and get with the times. And lastly get more power outlets available so we could plug in our electronic devices. Oh, almost forgot, go next door to Compton’s for breakfast. The continental breakfast this place has is only begals, toast, cereal, coffee and o.j.

Nice enough place for the price. We needed a clean place to stay overnight after a concert. Nice staff let us check in very late. Yes, it’s an older building and in need of updates, but it was clean and affordable and a good place to sleep and move on.

A woman that works there cleaned off the breakfast counter with a rag then cleaned the wall with the same rag and after used the same rag in the Danish food rack. I was standing in the Lobby of the hotel as we checked in. Unsanitary may I add

Upon walking in, I walked right into a spider web. Stained towels in the bathroom. Out of Order sign on one of the washer machines. The blanket on the bed was beat up. Old school tube TV. Wifi problems seem to be a thing with these Econo Lodges. Avoid this place if you can. It’s not worth your hard earned money!!!

I agree with the other 2 posters. this place is a NOGO. We only stayed here one night, because it was the only motel left available on President’s Day weekend… I wonder why! We were staying on the 3rd floor in a non-smoking room. Later that night, a strong smell of smoke wafted into our room and I stayed up most of the night coughing, because it was aggravating my asthma. Our next door neighbors appeared to be smoking in their«non-smoking room.» As we walked down the dark, dingy, smelly hallway, we noticed a strange flowered carpet square on the floor. Upon closer inspection, we learned that it was a giant hole that was being concealed. The bathroom looked like it was from the 1940’s. blue toilet, blue sink, peeling wallpaper. scary-looking shower with dirty black tape inside. Frightening. The lights in the hallway flickered and it looked like a scene from the Shining… Oh yes, and whenever our neighbors walked, the entire bathroom shook. and our bed. It felt like the floors were going to cave in. We checked for bed bugs, and saw nothing. however, suspiciously, a day later, I woke up with a cluster of red, itchy bites on my neck and hand… We stayed at another motel after this one, but this one could very well be the culprit. Please, please. DON’T stay here. Find somewhere else. even the Comfort Inn would be an improvement.

My husband and I attended the Gin Blossoms concert tonight at the Sherman Theater. It was snowing pretty badly so we decided to get a room and stay for the night. After much back and forth we decided to stay at this place due to its close proximity to the theater. As the previous posters mentioned, it is extremely run down and the doors do not lock properly. There’s only a latch on your door separating you from the outside. Not really safe. The bathroom was as cold as it was outside. Not really sure why. My guess would be the vent. We didn’t use the vent either. Turned it on once only to hear it be as loud as a jet engine and then turned it back off immediately. Had to turn on the shower to hot to get the room to a comfortable temperature. We went to bed around 1am after eating a sub and chips in our room. My husband left a half eaten bag of chips next to the bureau that houses the TV. I woke up to the noise of a rustling bag. I thought it was my imagination and drifted back off. A few minutes later I heard the sound again. I put the flashlight app on my phone on and seen a RAT trying to eat the chips. Needless to say I freaked out. We called the front desk and while they were nice enough to offer another room, I had enough(it was 2am and there was NOWAY I would feel at ease enough to fall asleep in any other room they could scrounge up). We went to the front desk and checked out. We live an hour and a half away and the roads were still not in great shape. They refunded our money. WORST. HOTEL. EXPERIENCE. EVER. AVOIDAVOIDAVOID.

Dump. Don’t stay here. The outside doors don’t lock, so anyone can just walk into the hotel. Rundown, grimy. TV’s older than dirt. Old cruddy towels in the bathroom. The blanket on the bed was old, and looked like a relief map or a science project. If I was a kid, I would say I was afraid I might have«Cooties» after staying at this hotel. Ugh.
