Gumbo Limbo

Still my favorite when visiting the downtown. Now they’ve opened a second shop with kids stuff. My friend visiting from Naples bought two awesome gifts for her grandkids. Really was a fun visit

I love this store, but I have to say in the last few visits and purchases I’ve made, the staff is below par. We went in today and the 2 women working were rude, snappy and seemed like they couldn’t be bothered by some questions we had about table cloths and a bracelet. My sister asked about a coastal type table cloth for my mother. The woman at the cashier, said «who even uses those anymore?!» And laughed. I did not reply. Gave her a weird look. I paid for my purchase, and she kept tapping her fingers on the pin key pad for debit cards saying «um you NEED to enter your PIN number!» Apparently I wasn’t moving over to cash out fast enough to her liking. This woman was so rude and made me feel so uncomfortable. You should be embarrassed, running paying customers out of your establishment. Shame on you, learn to be more customer friendly! Spend your money elsewhere!

I have been here a quite a few times, the first time I went in was right around the holidays last year for Alex and Ani bracelets and then the next time just to look around for specific household things. Today I think was the last straw, I went in with my family (all above the age of 21 mind you) and the manager I think, maybe the owner just kept following us like we were going to do something wrong. We walked out just because we felt so uncomfortable, outside half the family went into the store next to them and the other half just waited outside. The owner just kept coming out and looking at us and giving us this rude look like we were somehow interrupting things — mind you in that time, she also closed the door on someone who was trying to go into the store. Certainly unimpressed — so many other stores in Downtown Stuart have the same things with a much better customer service experience! Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

This is a fun shop in Stuart. Great beach and island items. Perfect finishing touches for the island feel at your home.
