I dread coming to these types of places. But my experience was easy– peasy. In and out in less than 20 minutes thanks to the competent, efficient staff. Top notch!

These guys made sticking my head inside a gigantic magnet quite a good experience.
I arrived about 15 minutes early for my 1pm brain MRI. I checked in and filled out some minimal paperwork. I was actually taken back to start the procedure a few minutes early. I had to completely undress and put on the scrubs/​gown they provided. I was then taken into the actual MRI room which was thankfully quite large and open! I’ve done MRIs before that were literally in the back of a truck — those are dark, cramped, and kinda scary if you have any sort of claustrophobia tendencies. This MRI machine, while not «open,» was definitely more roomy than some, and I believe it was actually a «short bore» machine, and was open on both ends (Google «GE short bore MRI» to see what it looks like). No problems for me going in head first with a cage strapped over my face! I was even given the option of listening to music, or watching a video of beach scenes. I opted to just enjoy the lovely MRI banging noise. I was still given headphones to dull the machine noise a bit. I was also given a blanket so that I didn’t get cold. I was put through about 15 minutes of 2 – 3 minute scans. Then I was injected with a contrast material and scanned twice more for about 6 minutes total. The MRI technician was fantastic and let me know each time a scan was starting, and how long it would take. The whole scanning process was done in about 30 minutes! I was out by 1:40pm.
I have to say — the staff was fantastic, kind, understanding, and patient with all my questions. Plus — they gave me a free DVD containing all my brain images!
