The Frugal Framer

A year or so ago, maybe a little more, we were over there buying some stuff and my wife looked in their dumpster (’cause that’s just what she does. :)). They had pretty big sheets of gator board in there. (If you don’t know what that is, it’s super heavy duty foam core board.) We put a bunch of it in the trunk and I used a lot of it for framing stuff. There were a couple pieces about 12″ by about 5′ (feet!) and the biggest I cut down and mounted a 16×20 on it. Lots of pieces that you could cut to 8×10, 11×14, etc. So we’re talking plenty of very usable stuff in perfect condition in the dumpster.
We figured, there’s no point in wasting this stuff like this, so we went in to ask when their trash pickup was so we’d know when was the best time to go by. Their response? «We don’t want you taking our trash.» I told them there were artists all over town who could and would use that stuff; there was no need for it to go in the landfill! They didn’t care; they’d rather throw it away than give it away. (That way, if you get it from them, you have to pay for it.)
So now, they have a lock ON THEIR TRASH!!! We went by there today and both the recycle bin and the trash have locks on them. So they’re not frugal at all; they’re wasteful and petty, and needlessly throwing perfectly good stuff in the landfill is just horribly bad for the environment.
Just something to think about before doing business with them.

There is noting Frugal about the Frugal Framer. This place is very expensive and poor quality work.

This place sucks. They over charge you SO much to the point where you can cringe. The people were very snobby and rude too! I called there one time & they hung up on me. Will never go there again.

I did NOT recommend this place AT ALL. I brought in a picture to be framed and was quoted a price of $ 360.00. It was a 30′ X 40′. I thought that was a tad high so I decided to look around. I went to The Friendly Framer in Stuart and picked out an even better frame and was quoted $ 210.00!!! Seriously, I knew Frugal Framer was high but was unaware they are a ripoff. Plus, the customer service here is lacking. What a difference in price.

I brought in my Disney portrait of Ariel and Eric (don’t judge me lol). It was really expensive but the work done on it is flawless. If you have a piece that needs to be framed professionally there is no where better than here. The selection of frames is out of this world.
