I love this little place. I don’t think I’ve ever seen new clothes like these — the jackets are beautifully done with ornate stitching and high-quality fabric — some of them tapestry-ish with raw edges and striped accents… It’s like, if you found a beautiful outfit from a 1940s movie and then re-styled it slightly to be a little more modern, then tailored it to fit you, and then the moment you put it on you look 10 pounds lighter, only better. =] There’s a very feminine elegance with her pieces that’s not too fancy to wear all the time, but also fancy enough to dress up with a couple of accessories for some special occasion. Ann helped me pick out a handmade vest that I can wear dressed professionally or throw on with a pair of jeans and it’s a wardrobe accent that is sooo worth the money. I think unlike trendy fads that come and go, Hoity Toity produces fashions that will stay stylilsh for decades, and they are so well made they will last for decades. Cool place.

Hoity Toity is a beautiful shop and fun shopping experience! Designer/Owner Ann has her baby chock full of marvelous creations in fabulous colors and fabrics. Her designs are in styles I would generally describe as a funky-formal that anyone could work. Everything I tried on looked great! The location is fun, too — boutiques and eats abound! The dress I bought is an amazing summer pastel in a linen knit that drapes like it was made just for me. And it could have been! Ann will design and build to order! If you are shopping for something uniquely beautiful and expertly crafted, or you just want some fun shopping, Hoity Toity is perfect!

I am not a clothes shopper, so when I went to store after store trying to find a great outfit for my birthday I was very disappointed. I was about to give up when I walked into Hoity-Toity. The owner Ann Booth immediately picked up on my bad mood as asked me what was wrong. I told her my birthday party is tomorrow and I can’t find anything I like. She smiled and said, «You have come to the right place». She was right. Ann picked out clothes for me that I would have never picked for myself. After I tried them on I couldn’t believe how perfect they were for me and they all fit like a dream. I had the best time shopping with Ann. At my birthday party EVERYONE complimented my dress. I feel like a million bucks in Ann’s designs. Everything I tried on was very comfortable and complimentary for my body type. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Hoity Toity has several things going for it… it’s located in a quint neighborhood in North Hollywood/Studio City(Moorpark & Tujunga) filled with boutiques, cafes, and small businesses which exactly resembles the small home-town artsy squares on the East Coast; it has a whimsical name, a cute cottage look, and a neat, charming store layout. Not to mention the store owner is VERY polite, all smiles, and immediately explains what she has to offer and her credentials when you walk in. HOWEVER, I was not at all impressed by the merchandise. First of all, I’ve heard this was a vintage store but it is not at all that. This is a DIY boutique targeting the working women within the 35 – 50 bracket. Perhaps that is why I wasn’t «feeling it». Either way, even if I was older I wouldn’t want to wear these pieces. Don’t misunderstand, they appear to be of quality and soft fabrics; but they are boring and lack any eye-catching appeal. Not to mention there are much too over-priced due to being hand-made.(Note: Hoity Toity is currently running a 50% off sale at time of review). The store pulls you in with its name and aesthetic appeal but then just leaves you hanging and bummed out. I would suggest it for soaps, lotions, and cremes, as Hoity Toity offers a varied selection and with cute finds(ie. cupcake lip«frost» in cupcake containers). Perfect place for a little bath goodie to add to a gift bag. But if you are looking for special DIY or vintage clothing; Hoity Toity lacks. But again, maybe I just fall out of the target market. If that is true though, this boutique should perhaps re-think it’s décor and presentation strategy because it is not attracting the correct age group.

Another great boutique with an owner(Ann) who is genuinely friendly and so creative! Ann designs her gorgeous clothing and presents her product in a well thought out, detailed atmosphere. She also sells fragrance, lotions, jewelry, home accents/furniture. Pretty much everything a gal needs. You always leave there feeling great. Check it! Located right beside the beautiful«Vintage-at-Heart» French style boutique.

Originally it was the name that drew me in, eventually it was the cool stuff that kept me coming back. This is vintage heaven people. You will find things here, you will not find anywhere else. Picture it as the closet you wish your grandma had had when you were hip enough to know the importance of a vintage score. With that said, they know exactly what they have here and it is priced accordingly, so the chance of finding«steals» here are rare, but I just love looking at the stuff here and running my fingers across satin slips and lacey doohickeys. It’s fun and it’s near my other fave little store here: Diana’s Boutique. So park the car and stroll this street, it’s fun and people actually smile at you around here. In LA, go figure ;)
