I have been going to Juliet since November of last year– a little over 6 months– for two hour long sessions a week. I can’t tell you how exciting it is to see how my scrawny back has muscles for the first time ever– how the cellulite I was getting on my 46 year old legs is gone– how my butt is perky and my legs are lean and look strong– I look better than I have since my 20s. You don’t have to crush yourself at the gym 5 days a week to see results. You don’t have to go to some gnarly boot camp. Juliet is about long term fitness. She is gentle but also sassy, she is fun to train with, and she really understands how bodies work and what to target for your individual body and desired outcome. She uses different methods– a bit of yoga, weights, some Pilates, some cardio… All tailored to you. She is a new mom and is especially sensitive to the needs of pregnant women and new moms– which I am not. I’m an old mom but I wish I had known her way back when! But at an age when women watch their bodies betray them, I am delighted with the fact that the opposite is happening. She is the bomb!!!

Juliet is the BEST trainer in LA — hand’s down! I started working out with Juliet in March 2013 to prepare for my wedding. In November, we unfortunately had to move down to Long Beach, which meant leaving Juliet. I was so sad! Not only is she an excellent trainer who will get you results, but she is also such a great person. I truly enjoyed our training sessions! I always felt like I was working out with a friend — a friend who would kick my butt in the gym. Fast forward to May 2015. My husband and I are back in Studio City and I’m pregnant! I got back in touch with Juliet and found out she also specializes in training pregnant women(and postpartum!) Having a healthy pregnant is of utmost importance to me. Exercising regularly during pregnancy is vital for your own health and the baby’s. I knew I couldn’t do it alone. It’s hard enough to work out on your own but when you add being pregnant into the mix, it felt almost impossible to drag myself to the gym. Thankfully, Juliet offers a wonderful space to train her clients(I hate gyms!) Best of all, she truly listens to how I’m feeling and adjusts my work outs if I’m having a hard day. She never makes me feel like I’m not working hard enough and she somehow knows just how far to push me. She also takes such an interest in my overall health and pregnancy. She even throws in some massage therapy when I need it! Plus, working out with someone who is an expert in pregnancy exercise is HUGE. We focus on exercises and stretches that not only help ease pregnancy symptoms, but will also help me a LOT during childbirth. There’s no doubt that Juliet does WAY more than most trainers do for their clients. You will be so thankful that you started working out with Juliet. I could go on and on about the many ways working with her has positively changed my life, but this post is already quite long! :) Bottom line: Meet Juliet. One meeting and you’ll know she’s the trainer for you.

Juliet is great!!! She is very dedicated and helpful in keeping you motivated. You can tell you are working with a professional that cares about you. She keeps in mind your previous injuries to design a workout that can help you without harming you. I highly recommend her! It is hard to find personal trainers as good and caring as her!!!

To find a personal trainer in LA all one has to do is a. throw a rock b. swing a dead cat c. go through an exhaustive research and interview process For me the answer was C. I interviewed 6 different trainers in the Hollywood/LA/Studio City area and made my choice — Juliet Tolman. I have several injuries due to poor training technique and age(50!) and I needed someone who could communicate and work with my physical therapist as well as advise me on proper nutrition, weight training, goal setting and motivation. Most of the trainers were proficient in some areas but weak in others. Juliet has the perfect combination of skills and experience. But that is only the beginning. Juliet is also sweet, kind, and really hilarious(at the appropriate time, of course — she does not spend our sessions lobbing one-liners at me). She has a no-nonsense approach to fitness and a broad range of knowledge on the most up to date training and nutrition approaches/theories. She is therefore able to adjust every workout appropriately to accommodate whatever complication you might bring her. For me it has been labral tears, patellar problems and rotator cuff shenanigans. She works carefully through every session ensuring a great workout with little risk of compounding the injuries. Her knowledge of proper nutrition is also invaluable. I have been working with her for only a few months and my progress has been remarkable. I could go on and on. Training with Juliet is challenging, fun and rewarding. She is very dedicated helping me reach my goals, including recovering from a knee injury. Every session she customizes a different set of exercises, eliminating the boredom associated with normal workouts. I highly recommend training with Juliet.
