I used to go here before they moved and decided to visit because I was in the area. I was greeted kindly upon arrival, seated and given water. From that point on, it was as if I didn’t exist. A couple was seated directly behind me and the waitress LITERALLY walked past me several times without saying hello let alone taking my order. When the couple behind me received their drinks before I’d even been acknowledged by my waitress, I waived someone else down. I mentioned to him that I hadn’t even been acknowledged and he seemed irritated while taking my order. I received my food — delicious — but the shake was overflowing and dripping all over my table and no one bothered to offer napkins. In addition to that, the woman I BELIEVE to be my waitress — I still don’t know for sure — has passed me multiple times AGAIN checking on the couples meal and discuss her necklace, etc but I’m nearly finished and. nothing. The food is wonderful however the service is horrendous — at least for me.

Never been to a vegan restaurant before, so didn’t know what to expect, but a friend brought me and she loves it. I had the lettuce leaf tacos and raw tomato basil soup. Both were very fresh and well flavored. I had the ice cream sandwich for dessert and found that to be quite a treat in spite of the non-dairy aspect. I needed a to-go box for the soup as it was too much food. Cost of all items about $ 30. Our waiter was really attentive and nice. The décor was very fitting for the scene. I recommend this place for those who enjoy fine organic vegan cuisine.

Smitten. As someone who struggles daily with the notion that I’m poisoning my body with chemicals and genetically modified food every time I grab a quick bite to eat outside of my own kitchen and the few organic smoothie/juice bars in my area, I’m smitten. I mean, you can’t even trust whole foods canola-laden GMO salad bar! The struggle is real people! Tangent aside, this adorable boutique café fulfills every one of my dining wishes. I mean, organic, vegan and gluten free pizzas? I can’t even contain my excitement! The food is delicious and the atmosphere casual and inviting. And there’s parking! The staff is friendly and attentive and the menu has a variety of salads, sandwiches and plated meals. There is a pretty extensive cocktail list as well. Best of all, everything is organic, right down to the coffee. This is a place where your body will thank you for indulging in the creative mouthwatering dishes.

I had never been to SunCafe and always saw it had wonderful reviews so I decided to try it out. Boy am I disappointed :( The to-go server sold me on the Kale Colossus salad. The description sounded interesting so I went for it. I thought I was getting a healthy lunch but what I received is a pool of sauce. I can’t taste any other flavor but this sauce :(I definitely recommend getting it on the side. Now I have spent $ 17 on sauce covered kale. Plus it’s probably hundreds of calories that aren’t needed. I gave one star for the beautiful ambiance and one star for the nice server.

I don’t know why this place has such high ratings. Maybe the people dining here don’t eat too much vegan food and simply enjoy the whole #organic #vegan trend. Prices are a bit on the high side since their ingredients are organic, but their food is not worth it at all. My mom lives in Taiwan and has been vegan for years, so I have tasted a range of vegan foods. Since she’s visiting us in the states, my brother and I arranged to have lunch with her at SunCafe for Mother’s Day. I ordered their vegan mac & cheese, soup of the day(forgot the name), and hazelnut cheesecake. Their vegan mac & cheese was terrible. It was something that Gordon Ramsay would yell at you for making. I can feel its grainy texture in my mouth just by thinking about it. Even in these photos of it, it looks like its been left out for an hour. I ordered it because so many reviews praised their vegan mac & cheese, but maybe that’s because they don’t know the potential of vegan food. You can get a better alternative from the grocery store(Daiya Cheezy Mac). Their soup was okay. I had a canned vegan lentil soup the other day that I’d still choose over it. The cheesecake was probably the best thing I ordered that day. Maybe that’s just because I’m tolerant of super sweetness. Service = Slow slow slow! At least their waiters and waitresses all look super hip and cool, adding to their #hipster ambiance. Note: Valet parking in the front

The ambiance here is elegant and the menu is interesting, but in my opinion, the food is overpriced and underwhelming. My waiter, young guy with chest tattoo and black hair, was awesome-super friendly and welcoming. I was so excited to try their famous Mac N Cheese, especially after hearing that it is the most popular item on the menu. For $ 15, the portion was small. I thought the flavors were okay, but this wasn’t anything that I couldn’t make at home. The cashew cheese was nice, but the dish overall was boring-literally just a big scoop of noodles, cheeze, and diced tomatoes baked in cast iron dish. I definitely would NOT bring a non-vegan here. This is vegan food for vegans, if you catch my drift. Hopefully I will try Sun Café again if I am ever in this neighborhood and change my mind, but for now, I am in no rush to return.

I’ve been coming here for a few weeks now and it never disappoints. I usually come during the evening but I had a long day at work today and wanted something delicious, as I hear they have their«specials» for holidays and such, I tried the BBQ Mac & Cheese burger with mashed potatoes. Must I speak, delicious-ness! ALSO!, the dessert here, is some of the best. I tried the peanut butter and banana cupcake, hands down. the best cupcake I have ever had that is VEGAN. They were out of the cookie dough cheesecake, but it shows that it’s just as great as any of the other desserts that they have there. Next time! By the way, if you ever go. try their shakes and lettuce leaf tacos! Thank you Linda for your amazing help tonight! You’re the best!

Loved loved loved !!! Nicest freaking people ever !!! Not a big fan of vegan places because I feel I am always lacking something. This was not the case with Sun Café. Loved the tacos, pesto pizza and chocolate cookie dough cheesecake !! The pesto pizza was the hit of the night. The pizza crust was very filing and olives mixed with pesto hit the spot. At the end of our meal we were hanging out by their fire pit. As usual I was freezing my skinny tooshy off and guess what ??? Our server brought us fleece blankets !!! What restaurant does that?

I’m not vegan or vegetarian but I thoroughly enjoyed this place. I had the french toast and it was tasty. My friends and I ordered and shared other items as well. My review is from the viewpoint of a non-vegan who is new to this way of eating. The leaf tacos were amazing. So flavorful and filling. The bbq cauliflower pizza was probably my favorite thing on the menu. I didn’t even realize there was no cheese on it and it was not lacking in anything. Now the mac and cheese was not good at all. The waitress even warned us that it wasn’t and we shouldn’t try it, but we did. Maybe if you’re used to eating vegan mac and cheese, you’ll like it. But if you like the real thing then don’t even try this. The drinks were also good, as was the service. I’d definitely go back.

Entrance is inviting with outdoor fire pit, however walking inside to be seated you are hit with a wall of sound. The acoustics make for a very loud dining experience. Outdoor seating is available and preferred. Service was delayed twice as we noticed a couple that was seated long after we arrived received their food order before ours. Our«cheesecake» took so long that our waitress comped the dessert blaming the order tickets for coming out way too slow in the kitchen. Food presentation was decent. We ordered the lettuce tacos with chorizo, a bowl of chili, lasagna; w/kale side that obviously dwarfed the main entrée(see pic), and almond butter cheesecake. All food is cold hence the raw menu, however the chili is served warm :). The chili was notably over salted. So much that I could not finish my portion. If this was toned down it would make for a great comfort meal on a cold day. The lettuce tacos are highly recommended and flavorful. The lasagna was not a hit… in addition to the extremely small portion size. Which brings us to dessert the cheesecake that was quite rich in flavor, and very very sweet. I partcularly enjoyed the cacao nibs that decorated the plate. Parking is a challenge. If you dont snag street parking you are locked into valet $ 3 lunch; and $ 5 dinner. Rating hit 2 stars due to delayed food orders and loud environment. They do have some creative dishes that are worth the try if you are willing to wait.

I love finding delicious vegan spots! Right in the center of bustling Studio City, Sun Café can be overlooked on Ventura Blvd and definitely a missed opportunity! SunNachos: Amazing! The sunchorizo actually takes three days to fully prepare in order to acquire the authentic flavor of chorizo yet without the harm of animals. Kale shake: Get it. Do it. Trust me. Creamy and so full of flavor you’d forget it was healthy! Probiotic bowl: simple ingredients bursting with flavor! The pickled veggies are my favorite! Buffalo Cauliflower pizza: I’m not one for spice but the kick in this pizza was perfect! The crust is a rice crust but it was so good and crispy! I’m making it my mission to try everything on the menu because it was such a great experience!

I absolutely love this place! The food is good and the ambience is amazing. It makes you feel like you’re in a secluded chic part of LA! It has an artsy comfortable chic feeling. The strawberry shake is so gooood! You definitely need to get it if you like strawberries. It’s creamy but yet not overly sweet. The quinoa and beet salad is also really good. It feels very healthy yet delicious at the same time. Don’t get the brownie sundae though the brownie is too sweet. There is way too much chocolate on there and not enough ice cream.

This place is definitely going on my «favorite vegan restaurants» list. I’ve been hearing this is a must — go-to vegan restaurant and I tried their«crab» slider at the vegan street fair. At that moment I decided it was time because ny mouth had exploded with flavor and deliciousness. I went with my boyfriend and enjoyed everything about this place. Suncafe is on ventura in the studio city area, but once you walk in you’re taken into a quaint, ranch style house that’s blocked off from the street. Their outside seating area is beautiful, perfect for date night! Let’s get to the important part… the food! Everything is vegan and they have a lot of raw options! I was impressed by that. I was more impressed by the list of local farms that they get everything from. I love restaurants that buy local, but they went above and beyond and actually pit the names of the farms on the menu! Everything we ate was delicious. I had the special, Buffalo cauliflower pizza. It was so good. But my boyfriends Shepard pie was to die for! I’m salivating just thinking about it! I also have a food problem but that’s a different story… So yea, I love this place. If you’re looking for a good vegan restaurant, definitely try this place out.

The scenery feels like you’re on a ranch for a weekend getaway, but instead of a big juicy steak(which this omnivore wouldn’t mind) you get some of the best vegan food you’ve ever had. It’s not just vegan good, it’s plain and simple great tasting food. Have a friend with an extremely high maintenance diet? Being them here. Have parents or in laws that think vegan food is little more than yard clippings? Take them here! Have. Vegan girlfriend that you want to impress? Make a reservation and foot the bill, and you will it be disappointed with what comes after!

Came her for my pre-birthday dinner, I mean feast! In a warm setting that looks like a house, this restaurant has an incredible selection of vegan delights. The dishes are varied bursting with flavor that exploded on our tongues. There were so many choices that we went a little overboard and stuffed ourselves, but that’s what birthdays are for, right? The BBQ cauliflower was a first, flavorful while a tad spicy, too. We chose nachos that were half chips and half jicama. The jicama was sliced just perfectly so we could enjoy it’s firm juiciness while we gobbled up the cashew cheese topping, vegan sour cream, tomatoes and guacamole. I really enjoyed their black rice and yellow curry, lots of flavor there. It’s a big portion, so I have some packed up for lunch tomorrow. I tasted my hubby’s Shepherd pie and it too, was delish. He also ordered a mint shamrock shake… who knew spinach, bananas, mint, cacao, cashews and agave would taste so good together?! Our friend ordered the mac and cheese which came in a cast iron skillet. It too was presented beautifully and had lots of flavor. And as if we weren’t stuffed already, we ordered beautiful a piece of almond butter cheesecake to share. Don’t even want to think about the calories in that one. From the person who made our reservations on the phone to the host who seated us, the waiters and the men who cleared the table, everyone was exceptionally nice and friendly. The place is out of this world and I can’t wait to go again!

Coconut Curry with Black Rice. Tasty and GF. Mac & Cheese. Quinoa pasta and GF. Our server. Knowledgable. The PATIO is simply gorgeous, rustic and elegant. I LOVEDIT.

Very pleasant vibe with a very large outdoor deck/patio, including an area with a firepit. We had a delicious avocado curry soup, avocado toast, and omelette. All were good, and the blueberry cheesecake was also delicious. I had first tried some of their food — sort of — a while back when I was at some sort of a vegan food party, playing music for the gathering. In essence, I was working for food. The chef was from SunCafe and made delicious food, and so I had high expectations, and the restaurant did not disappoint. Good service as well. I was a little surprised that they didn’t have more raw options, but I suppose this was just my expectations. All the food we had was quite good.

I took a girlfriend to a Kings game and in exchange she treated me to dinner. We parked at the meters in front. There is a small lot in front with valet. I recommend going this route. Both my friend and I ended up getting $ 65 parking tickets for expired meters. We sat outside because it was a gorgeous day. There’s an outdoor fire pit, setting the perfect mood lighting for dinner. We split the tempeh blt and chili cheese fries. The cheese fries came out first. These were a bit of a letdown. I was expecting something resembling the real thing. What we got was boiled baby potatoes with beans and a dollop of «cheese». I get that they don’t fry their food, but they should rename this dish. I couldn’t detect any of the fake meat in the chili at all. We both regretted not getting the sun nachos. The blt came with a side of the best kale salad I’ve ever had. The creamy dressing was so good and I couldn’t believe it was vegan. The focaccia bread was really good, too. Again, amazed that it was vegan. I loved the familiar addition of rosemary. For dessert, we ordered the raw cheesecakes. I got the pumpkin because it’s a seasonal item and I’m a sucker for all things pumpkin. My friend got blueberry because the server told her he liked it better than cookies and cream. It was so pretty with that purple marbling. Both cheesecakes were good, but I think blueberry was a slight notch above pumpkin. The crusts were gluten free, I believe. They seemed to be nut-based. Aside from the parking ticket and ordering the wrong appetizer, this was a pleasant dining experience.
