This Days Inn is just awful. I’ve stayed at a handful of Days Inn in my life and this one is the worst. Let’s do this as a list: — Tiny rooms. The room fits a Queens size bed, with about 18″ on either side of the bed, a small closet and tiny desk with chair. That’s it. — No sheer curtains to let light in, just black out curtains, so you have no idea what time it is and miss check out. — An old yellow hue throughout the bathroom. It’s not a style choice, its age. — Bathtub was slimy and rusty, and if I don’t get athletes foot after today, it will be a miracle! — Internet was just a downright humiliating and aggravating experience, more so than usual. To say that the speeds were comparable to dial up would be generous. They advertised«High-Speed» internet. It took about 10 minutes to load this page for me to write this review! I just let it go and kept checking every few minutes until it was done. People need to know!!! — Relatives are staying in a room across the hall. Pretty much the exact same room, but with 2 beds. But for extra flavor, it’s a smoking room. They said it smells like THATSALL anyone does in there. Smoke. No sleeping, no relaxing, no showering — just smoking. All three are smokers and it was too much for them. I dont know how much worse it got after they turned the AC on. I didnt want to know. — This place is right next door to a very busy Truck weighing station. — The food in the vending machines look like they’ve been there since the late 80’s. — Bathroom fan is louder than a jet engine — Walls are paper then and tonight the rooms are loaded with families with toddlers, babies, and people that really like TV, and couples screaming at each other. I feel like Im in an episode of My Name Is Earl. — Lights all point straight down, right in your face when you lay in bed. There aren’t any bedside lights or anything remotely accessible or dim near the bed. We picked this place coz it was the only hotel in town that allowed pets. If you aren’t travelling with a pet. Avoid this place like it’s been overrun by zombies.

What can I say about the Days Inn in Sturbridge? Well, it ain’t much to look at, that’s for sure. It’s located on a stretch of road that really has nothing to offer other than a truck stop and a couple of on ramps to I-84. It’s set back from the road in a pretty wooded area, which I’m sure looks beautiful most of the time, but clearly our stay here was timed before any landscaping company was brought in for leaf cleanup. The whole look and feel of the place was a little on the shady side, kind of a no-tell motel vibe. While the outside left much to be desired, the room was actually very nice. While a little on the small side, it offered exactly what we needed for the night. No issues with the bed with regards to cleanliness or comfort and the bathroom was sparkling upon our arrival. They do offer a continental breakfast in the lobby and there’s a pool out back, but look elsewhere if you want amenities. Since we were just in town for a wedding and not really in need of anything other than a place to crash for the night, this fit the bill nicely. And at only $ 55 for the night, I wasn’t about to complain.

I am giving the Days Inn 4 stars because this hotel does exactly what it needs to. I don’t think anyone comes to the Days Inn for a luxury vacation. The Days Inn is where you go when you need a clean, affordable place to sleep. For me, this hotel did exactly what I needed and expected it to. When you pull up, it looks a bit shady. It’s been around for a while, and we’re so used to high-rise hotels these days, that I can see why people would be suspect of this one story motor-lodge style hotel. I didn’t do the checking-in, but I understand it was a pleasant experience. Our room had a king bed in it, and it was a nice room. It wasn’t huge, but it was clean, and it smelled like pine, or cedar, or something woodsy(smells I’m not used to in suburbia). The TV worked, there were several lamps and a desk area and a clothing rack behind a mini refrigerator, which came in handy for storing pizza for late-night, post-wedding munchies. The bathroom was small, but again, clean and there was plenty of hot water. The shower head did make an odd, high-pitched squeaking sound at times, but this is the only thing I could find wrong with the room. When checking out, I got a look at the lobby. It was homey, set up for the free continental breakfast, and again, clean. The gentleman at the desk seemed friendly. In conclusion, this isn’t the Hilton or the Marriott, but it’s a clean, safe, comfortable, and affordable place to sleep with a staff that is keeping it in nice condition.

I have stayed here three times, each time getting worse and worse and worse. I finally gave up on them. The Day’s Inn is run by a family, but I the sons are in charge now, and Papa Patel needs to take it back. In the summer, this hotel is quite nice, kind of a throwback to the old motel days, the rooms are snuggled into a wooded area with a very nice pool in a clearing. The clearing is not nearly enough, as the pool is usually filled with all sorts of leaves. BUT it only takes a minute to skim it and enjoy… its very cold tho, as the trees shade the pool as well. I am disappointed to have to give this review, because I kinda liked this place, it was cheap, convenient, and the breakfast used to be pretty good. Hopefully they get their act together soon.
