Visited this Winery on our recent trip to Door county. It’s a lil interior compared to other vineyards that we crossed on our way. A small, decent place with a bar at one end and a gift store. Also have a patio that overlooks the vineyard. They have an aging and packing unit which they give a tour of. The staff is very courteous and friendly. We can sample 4 free wines, after which you are free to purchase and drink or just relax. There is a small pantry section from where you can purchase packaged meat, fish, chips or cheese to go with the wine. On the whole a decent place but nothing wow about it.

We visited here on a Sunday afternoon, there were a few other couple’s doing tastings too. Liked several wines: the viogner, untouchable white(very hard to describe the notes on this one), the speakeasy red, door county cherry, the American chardonnay. Our server was great, sorry didn’t get her name . Loved the setting of the winery.

Descriptive phrase: scenic, classier wine samples. Simon Creek Winery was our last stop on a day of wine tours throughout Door County. It’s a little ways off the highway compared to its competition, which actually makes it a nicer space. Their patio and windows overlook vineyard and Wisconsin farmland. We sampled a few of their wines(free), which I found to be more traditional than others in the area. Overall, Simon Creek seemed to be a little less touristy than other places, and a little more focused on the wine.

Sweeter wine, but always improving and staffed by the kindest people and the location is especially beautiful. I have visited yearly since I was of legal drinking age 7 years ago and always enjoy my time and appreciate your local business and exceptional customer service.

Great place! Good wine and relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed a free tasting then purchased a bottle of wine to enjoy on their deck and they even allowed us to bring our own appetizers/snacks. Fun time. Will definitely return next time I visit Door County!

Beautiful place. Happened upon it by chance, just driving through. Honestly didn’t expect too much but we were presently surprised at the size and beautiful patio area. Sampled 4 wines for free and ended up purchasing a glass each($ 6) and enjoyed it outside on the deck overlooking the vineyard and creek. A «must see» if you’re up in door county!

Friendliest wine stop, lovely drive there, and a good variety of wines to sample aside from the typical door county fruit wines

We had a great visit to this winery. It is a little off the main road, but not difficult to find at all. We walked in for a tasting, and there was only one other couple at the tasting bar. You can try 4 wines on the house. My husband and I got to tasting — all whites for me, all reds for him. I actually liked all the wines I tasted, which was a first for me. The servers were great. When a large party(a group of wedding guests, hitting the wine trail in between the wedding and reception) arrived, they took turns pouring and always made sure we weren’t forgotten. We had a bit of time to kill, so when I saw they had a small outside patio where you could relax and enjoy a glass, I suggested we do exactly that. My husband abstained since he was the DD, so I got to enjoy a glass of sauvingon blanc with him taking a couple sips here and there. We sat there for a while, maybe an hour or so, and it was lovely. I was told that on certain nights, the winery has live music with bands playing in the corner of the patio. I could see that being a really fun night. This is a great winery to visit. I recommend it.

We went to several wineries while visiting Door County and this was one of our favorites. They weren’t very busy when we were there so we didn’t have to fight for attention like we did at some of the others. They offer a free tasting, which was very nice. The staff who helped us was very knowledgeable. When you are finished with your tasting, they offer wine by the glass or you can buy a bottle and they will open and recork for you if you’d like to go that route. We decided to go for a glass of the Untouchable Re. We took it outside to the patio so we could discuss what we wanted to purchase to take home. We ended up buying three bottles, which they put in a nice box that made it so much easier to get back to Chicago. We’ll definitely come back the next time we’re in town!

Wines were surprisedly good. Not a huge fan of sweet wines but they had a very nice selection of red and white dry-drier wines. Untouchable Red is as good as the owner said. We bought a few bottles of wine when we left. Owner was super friendly. Would be a great place for music in the warmer weather.

I went there with by wife and two daughters, 7 and 4. The waitress helping us with the tasting was aloof and rude. The wine was excellent. We purchased two bottles. Unfortunately, we did not feel welcome at all. I’m not sure it was because of the kids or be not being white.

The classiest winery in door county. The staff was fantastic with us(we were on a wine tour). They let us sample every wine on the list, which I thought was great of them since each tastes a little different. Happened to buy more wine because they were such a great staff.

This was a really nice winery! It was in a remote location 3 miles east from Carlsville. The winding path toward the winery is beautifully landscaped. The building itself was very well kept & had seating by the taste testing bar, couch seating by a fireplace, & an outdoor patio with lounge chairs. I did not go on the tour so I am unable to review this portion. The wine selection was minimal(about 20 different wines) but all had very unique flavors. There were 4 free taste testings per person. It is wise to go with another person & «share the taste testing» so you can taste more of the varieties. After the taste testing you can either buy some wine by the glass(which is $ 6) or buy a bottle of your favorites(prices range from $ 12 to $ 17). I am more of a sweet wine person so my favorite was the untouchable white(a bottle was $ 15). I was disappointed I did not get to try the dessert cherry wine because the winery was sold out of it(I heard it was one of the better wines from other reviews). I would highly recommend this winery. Quality is better than quantity in my book any day.

Best wines in Door County! Free wine tasting and tour. A beautiful facility, we were able to go to all the wineries in Door county and do wine tastings at all of them. This winery had the best wines, I especially recommend the red table wine, Speakeasy Red. I loved their wines so much I will probably be ordering them online. They have a large bar and when we went it wasn’t very crowded, but it was a Friday evening.

I stopped in here for a wine tasting and they have really nice wines. You get to try four for free. I tried all the reds and their chardonnay. I’m not a big white wine drinker(I think they’er too sweet) but the chardonnay was very good. It wasn’t too sweet at all. My favorite one was the Speakeasy Red. They also have a really nice seating area on the back porch where you can take a glass of wine and relax. You can enjoy your wine while taking in a great view of the vines. It’s very peaceful back there.

Easily the best of all the wineries in Door County! Don’t believe the hype about other places that charge a lot more for lesser quality. They make really nice wines here that aren’t non-grape based like so many in Door County. They have a nice(free) tasting area and a little patio out back if you want to stay and enjoy a glass. The winery is on a nice piece of property with an old barn and a great view. If you can only go to one winery in Door County, go to Simon Creek — you will not be disappointed.

FREEWINETASTINGS. 4PERPERSON. Magic words indeed, particularly when you happened to pay in the past up to $ 20 for the same privilege. Sure, Door County is no Napa Valley. But, psssst… I have a sweet secret to tell you… Simon Creek Winery does some pretty nice grape juice. Of the alcoholic kind. Me likey. The place itself is off the beaten path. One word of advice: don’t use Google map to get there. It will send you in the middle of nowhere, in an a dead-end alley protected by Cerberus. Or one of his friends. But once you arrive at destination you will be welcomed by baby vineyards(they are 7 years old), a nice barn and an adorable store where treasures await. You walk up at the counter, choose a wine from the list and get down to business. The more, the merrier and the more wines to try. They even provide you with little crackers to ‘clean your palate’. How cute. I ended up being so enamored that I left with six bottles: — a Cabernet Sauvignon, full-bodied and spicy — a Gewurtztraminer, sweet but not overtly so — a Alexa cerise, a dry cherry dessert wine(just because) — a Peninsula Gold, a cream sherry with a hint of almond — two Light Sweet Muscat, similar to my beloved Ice Wine, with a hint of peach Lovely. We bought a glass of Sauvignon and Viognier and sipped on them on the wonderful deck overlooking the backyard and the vineyards. The place was ours. Definitely one of my trip hightlights.
