Square Rigger Lodge

I should preface this review by stating that we have always stayed on the west side of Door County where every other vacationer seems to stay, Fish Creek, Sister Bay, etc. This trip, we decided to try the eastern side. We stayed at the Square Rigger Lodge in Jacksonport and couldn’t have been happier.
It’s a clean, well run place with an awesome beach and a great view of Lake Michigan. And best of all it’s quiet! You can have your fill of traffic and crowds by driving a few minutes west to the common places up in the Door. If you want to relax in a clean, well kept place, with a gorgeous beach, this is the place for you.
We found pleasure in simply watching the blue moon rise over Lake Michigan and were in awe. I recommend the Square Rigger Lodge if you are looking to relax and enjoy the real beauty of Door County.

I did not end up staying at the Square Rigger because a teammate ended up with an extra room right in Egg Harbor where I needed to be. That occurred a few hours after I made a reservation at this lodge.
When I made the reservation the woman I spoke with was helpful with directions. When I called to cancel she did not give me any grief even though she could have tried to hold me to it like some other hotels in the area were doing due to the Door County Tri. I appreciate the honest doing of business!
In summary, I recommend the Square Rigger if you’re looking for affordable and friendly accommodations in the area.
