Love the steak & eggs. Fresh fruit and homemade jam is always a plus. The owner, Cookie is great. Service is mediocre but will not stop me from coming to Kiss the Cook

A solid place for oversized, tasty breakfast portions. They use real ingredients in their omelettes, and will indeed give you crisp bacon if that is what you ask for. They are also quick to fill your coffee. None of this one cup and then(maybe) one refill at the close of the meal nonsense, your cup is always full, which is as it should be. The outside of the building looks like a shoebox with windows, but don’t let that dissuade you.

Great place for breakfast. Hot coffee, cold drinks. The omelette were made fast, fresh n tasty. I had the 1meat, 1veggie and 1cheese. Hubby had the village dump omelet and it was overstuffed with tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, ham, cheese, peppers n sausage. He ordered it with toast n grits. Excellent service. Impressed. Will stop again when in the area.

I have not had a bad meal here. In fact, just the opposite, it is simply good food. Fresh meat and veggies and the french fries are yummy. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. I enjoy the hustle and bustle of this little place and getting to know the staff has been fun.

The building looks a little sketchy from the outside, but warmed right up the second we stepped foot indoors. While inside, we noticed a cozy décor with flickering lights(possibly due to the thunderstorm during our meal or unpaid electrical bills). The coffee was wasn’t very hot and didn’t taste very fresh. The food was mediocre, yet prompt, and displayed with a nice arrangement of fruit. The omelet was edible, however, the jalapeños requested to be added were MIA. It was something that could easily be made at home. Slight draft near door. The kitchen door is a little creaky. We visited here because of the positive Unilocal reviews, but were gravely disappointed by Unilocal. IHOPefully, won’t be visiting anytime soon.

Kiss the Cook is a small friendly restaurant with a very friendly and attentive wait staff. We went on a Friday night and didn’t know of the limited menu. My soup and salad was excellent! My friend just ordered dessert since only fish and pizza were offered as entries. For me atmosphere is 50%, and it was cozy on one side of the dining area, but the cashier and kitchen area was very bright and noisy and too distracting. It also has a front and back door which left a very cold draft each time the doors were open and we ate with our coats on. Food was great, but because of the atmisohere we will not be back.

I had the Uncle Benny-eggs Benedict. It was tasty but not a whole lot of hollandaise and the Canadian bacon was nothing to rave over. For the area, I’ve not had an eggs Benedict better than the one served at Bob’s on Sheridan. My husbands corned beef hash looked and smelled incredible. He loved it. This was very clearly a homemade dish. We shared a blueberry pancake. The flavor was fantastic but it was a little dry. The texture was off a bit. I wouldn’t hesitate to order it again, though. It was a busy morning with always a table waiting to be seated, but never a long wait. The staff seemed rather disorganized and a couple of the gals shared some unpleasantries over one just trying to be helpful. I wish I could say our waitress was attentive, but unfortunately that was not the case. Our food was dropped off by another and we didn’t see the waitress until she was clearing our table. My husband never had his beverage refilled. The bus boy was great, he had real hustle. He kept my coffee full and warm, was very friendly, made suggestions and even offered to handle some of the stuff our waitress failed to do for us. The food was good and I would return, but I hope in the future my waiter visits my table more often than the bus boy.

Visited for the first time after a movie on a Friday night. The menu was only seafood. My wife ordered chicken and rice soup instead. I ordered Alaskan Cod with cheesy potatoes. The interior was nice and cozy. The staff was friendly and attentive. My Cod was excellent. The Cole slaw was fresh but lacked much taste beyond the cabbage. The cheesy potatoes were okay but nothing out of the ordinary. The value was fairly good compared to other fish fries in the area. Just nothing outstanding. My wife’s soup was a disappointment. It looked like a bowl of rice in a thick brown gravy. This chicken and rice was fairly tasteless and if anything had a bit of a beef flavor instead. She is a soup lover but after one taste put it aside. They didn’t charge us for it. I know friends of ours like this place so I might give it a second chance while hoping other items on the menu might have a little more flavor.

Great place for breakfast. Haven’t tried dinner there yet but the breakfast was outstanding. Great service from our server Ashley. Small little place that serves great food. Tastes like you made it at home. Highly recommend this place. Dumpster omelet was amazing.

This is truly a family restaurant; owned and operated locally. They serve fresh, homemade meals that make you remember what it was like eating with your family as a child.

Kiss the cook has moved and some how it broke their biscuits and gravy! The new location is nice and it still has that small down home feel but the biscuit this time was heavy and not light and fluffy. It was like eating pucks of ½ cooked dough. The gravy was good but sparce. The sausage patti were the pre made little ones. They were the best part of the meal sadly. The coffee was excellent and the staff was as attractive and attentive as ever. the new location seemed smaller than the old place. The also were still only serving breakfast at 2pm. I still will try this place again but may try something other than the biscuit and gravy. Maybe something with the homemade jam. I just wish the bng was better.

Ran out of one of the two choices for potato before 7 pm. There is no choice on Fridays except fish. Tables are extremely close together so you have to constantly get up to let other patrons by. I’ll give them one more chance for breakfast but I won’t go out of my way to come back.

Service was friendly. They were in the middle of training/hiring, so some general confusion. Manager could be a little nicer to my server… just pushed out my salad bowl and she got all over her to collect it. The salad really needed two dressings and was fresh, but kinda hard to get out of the bowl? Gulf shrimp okay, super-crispy breading on it. The weird side veggies are only lightly cooked and the mashed potatoes are chunky and raw. The key lime pie has a nice bite to it and is really fresh.

We were excited that they finally opened the new location and we checked it out for Sunday breakfast — it was fantastic! I love that you can place both ½ of full orders of certain items. Service was extremely friendly. It was a tad warm in there but they had a large floor fan that kept the air moving. There was a small wait around 9:30am but it went by quickly. I can’t wait to try them for lunch and dinner!
