Slightly better than a barn, but you’d probably be better staying in the actual road way.

Horrible service here. We went to breakfast expecting to eat and they closed around 5 – 10 minutes before their appointed time. When confronted about it, manager said«are you with the 11 other Asians? Just go speak some other Asian language and not English!». Terribly biased and racist for that matter. Rude staff. Room itself was passable. You have to pull on the bell to drain the bath. Also, TV has no signal. Weather wise, this place is cold, so pack a jacket or three.

After contacting Choice Hotels regarding my stay this past weekend they said in order to file a formal complaint, which will go into permanent record for hotel, they send my complaint hotel upper management and give them 72 hours to resolve/respond. I knew this wouldn’t get me anywhere since the GM was the one to ask us to leave but in order to get the complaint filed, I agreed. Here is the response I received from the GM. ‘A Jbath GENERALMANAGER RODEWAYINN&SUITES 503−769−9579 THANKYOUVERYVERYMUCH… Lady set up good example to her daughters by using soooo many bad words. F words she used many time… she demand everything, she want everything free. was so much aggressive… talking like we were her slave. she told us she going to close down the motel… who give her right to talk to us like that… she can say whatever she want. we did thanks her for everything, and she just keep talking so bad. cheap talking… If its so cold. kids don’t want to swim, then how her room is so hot?.. it was like 103 outside… and pool is cold?.. the a/c in her room is working very good… BUY it’s not cold enough for her. When guest wright bed reviews, choice should think before putting on website. when guest demand things and did not work out .they put very bad comments. AND yes they do tel us that we will do the bad reviews on line. will shut down the motel. NOTFAIR… We can not make happy every one. ONCEAGAINTHANKYOUVERYVERYMUCH… ‘ First, my kids were in the car. They were no where near the hotel lobby. I was never aggressive, I was simply shocked that these owners would rather loose business than transferring my family to a new room. The pool issue is real simple. It’s an indoor pool, it needs to be heated. My family tossed and turned all night because the room was too hot. We weren’t hanging out in the room all day but the times we were in the room it was too hot. It wasn’t 103 this past weekend, try 90, maybe even mid-80s. All this owner does is make excuses for everything… yet says he can’t make everyone happy. I have a newsflash for you — you’re in the HOSPITALITY industry. Your business is to make people happy in a home away from home for a couple nights. Not to kick them out! What you did was not fair, don’t tell me what’s fair. I didn’t take your money and not provide you with the service expected. Seriously! This guy is crazy!

Awful!!! You know going in to a cheap hotel its going to be crap, but this was beyond crap! Walked into our room, no lights, one worked… the bathroom. They didn’t have anyone on staff to fix it, so it would have to wait. It stinks. Then went down to get breakfast to take back to my room. I have toddlers, they told me no food is allowed in my room! I said, well I’ve got 2 babies that want to eat! He said no food in your room! It was watered down sunny d anyways. Yuck! If you need a place to stay. Look anywhere else! Silver falls has cabins you can stay in for $ 40! Go there, or under a bridge. Better service and probably a lot nicer! Good luck if you try it!

Drive a little further to avoid staying here! Owned and operated by a rude Indian family. Check in was a disaster as we were being charged a rate different from what was booked online through their website and they were not taking responsibility for it. Instead the lady said she didn’t have time to argue with us and she stormed off, leaving her son to check us in and he actually apologized for the way his mom was acting AND gave us the rate we booked at! We got a suite, which is just a half wall that separates the bed from a couch, table and desk. The room has a fridge, microwave, ironing board and flat screen tv that’s extremely difficult to work. The bathroom has one switch that’s a light and the loudest fan you’ve ever heard combined into one. We went down for continental breakfast one morning and as my husband was about to bring waffles back to the room the man said, «you can’t bring that to your room, there’s a sign right there». I couldn’t believe how rude this family was! Breakfast consisted of gross coffee, waffles, mini bagels, raisin bran and milk on ice. Upon check out we got the same lady that checked us in of course and she told us to keep an eye on our bill because we might have gotten wrongly charged. I had to laugh because I couldn’t believe that it could even get any worse. Avoid this place and stay in a nicer hotel up the road because you don’t want a bad experience ruining your trip.

Not the best, not the worst. There aren’t a lot of choices in the area, especially if you roll into town late like we did(B&Bs tend to close early), but you could do worse than this place. The room was nice enough, with a comfortable bed, though the sheets were a bit worse for the wear. We payed about $ 80 for our room. They were out of single queen rooms, which were around $ 65 w/tax, but they put us into a king suite at the same rate as a two bed room. It had a pullout couch, but had a weird half-wall divider to «privatize» the pullout. However, this meant you could only see the TV from the bed. Wife went down to grab breakfast about 20 minutes before it ended and they were out of waffle mix. Multiple people were grumbling(vocally) about it, but apparently management had no intention of doing anything about it.

I was leery when making the reservation for this lodging. I called to ask for directions and was talked to by a woman who seemed very confused about locations and how to get from A to B. She was rather unpleasant and I wasn’t looking forward to meeting her in person — which was imminent in the next 5 minutes. We arrived and the staff was much more pleasant in real life. Our room was clean, roomy, and nicely appointed. The TV offered a fair number of channels although it was a little tricky to figure out. There was a pool and a jacuzzi which we ever managed to use because our hours were wonky. The pool hours were clearly posted on the door to the pool. Breakfast was fine. They had those waffle irons that you fill up and flip over. Very tasty — and we are very picky about our waffles. There were also many sorts of cereal served with low fat milk. They offered coffee and tea, bagels, toast, fresh fruit and sunny delight(Which is NOT orange juice). That being said, we enjoyed our breakfasts which were far superior to some other breakfasts we’ve been served in other places. We came hoe late one night and went the extra mile(so to speak) to use the appropriate entrance«after hours» only to find that our room keys no longer worked. Sigh. I had to trudge back with my cane — in the rain — to the main entrance where we discovered that our keys had been accidentally deactivated. I would have liked to have some sort of greater apology made for the extra effort _I_had to take to do al the extra walking. However, in the long run, we were happy staying in Rodeway Inn & Suites. We would stay there again. We used the laundromat until very late in the night and it was nice to get all our clothes clean for the upcoming adventures. Nice stay. :)

Wow. This was the worst experience at a hotel I’ve ever had. The manager is so rude I thought he was joking. My son and I wanted to swim in the morning before leaving. After 5 min at the indoor pool he came in and told us to leave and that the pool was closed. I asked him if he would reconsidered and he snapped No! My son was very disappointed. I suggested that they lock the door during closed hours. He said«can’t you read? Read the sign!» I said a lot of people don’t read signs. Especially in hotels because there are signs all over the place. He pointed toward the stairs and told me to go upstairs. Wow. There are only a handful of cable stations on outdated box tvs. Anything besides news, a few local channels, and advertising shows you have to pay for. The bathroom towels are ¾ size. The indoor pool was so cold it took my breath away when I jumped in. The hot tub had some weird foam floating in it. It looked like sea foam. Breakfast: white bread with a $.99 sticker on it. Some weird orange drink pretending to be orange juice. Cereal and bagels/English muffins. My son tried a waffle. He said it tasted like wood and couldn’t eat it. We went to the IHOP in Salem instead. Yum. Thanks for the crappy fathers day morning. I’m really disappointed.
