My sons have rented tuxedos 6 times over the past 3 years from Sarno, and each experience was consistently positive. Their customer service is friendly, knowledgeable and was helpful in guiding my boys with their selections. My guys don’t necessarily enjoy shopping or dressing up, so being able to give a thumbs up to Sarno says something!

My son has gone to 4 proms in the last 2 years and we have used Sarno for each tuxedo rental. Carol has been so helpful and friendly each and everytime we have used Sarno. My son is not an easy fit(he is very tall and thin) yet Carol has managed to make sure everything fits him perfectly. She has even brought in extra pieces in the event that we were not happy with the way something looked. Her eye for detail is second to none. So a HUGE thank you to Carol, and the rest of the staff at Sarno. I would HIGHLY recommend Sarno to anyone in need of a tuxedo rental.

Thanks Carol for the great customer service. We received many compliments on our suits at my daughter’s wedding this past Sunday. This is the second wedding that you have helped us with. I will be back for your help again.

I wish I could give zero stars. Carol was completely rude and abrasive. Every single time one of the guys said something didn’t fit she would blame us for calling in the measurements instead of offering to fix it. Paying $ 185 for a tux rental and receiving zero customer would not be acceptable anywhere else except in New Jersey from Carol. Carol complained about fixing the one guys pants because she doesn’t have a sewing machine and would have to see by hand. Isn’t that your job to ensure everything fits? I guess not. So instead of sewing his pants she glued them! Haha what a joke. She doesn’t deserve to have a job. She kept telling the groom that I thought my pants didn’t fit, as if it was my first day wearing pants and I don’t know how they’re supposed to fit. I would highly recommend to steer clear of this place and more specifically Carol. She’s just awful.

My Son was getting married in Connecticut and I had to rent 2 suits, unfortunately this store was the only place near me that had the kind of suit my son wanted. The gentleman that helped us when we first went was very pleasant and he measured my husband and nephew. When we went back to pick up the suits Carol(the new manager) was there to help us. She was RUDEANDDISREPECTFUL, she certainly has no Customer Service training. My nephews suit was fitted wrong, the shirt to big and so was the jacket. When I questioned her she told me the guy who originally measured my nephew wrote it down wrong, that was one of many lies. she lied to us at least 4 – 5 times. I told her she did not have to be rude and yell at me in front of the other customers(it was prom season so the store was packed) she told me it was a hectic day(never apologized). I was then told by Carol that my nephew’s suit had to be delivered to Connecticut on Friday to my son’s house. Needless to say the suit never came until Saturday at Noon, The wedding was Saturday at 2:00. Very close timing. Carol also said I would get a percentage taken off for all the trouble but that never came. She told me she never said it(another lie). I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I would give this a ZERO for Customer Service and Carol.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. This location and Carol singlehandedly ruined my wedding. Instead of being a calm and relaxed bride like I normally am as it is part of my personality my entire family and I were treated with so much disrespect. I live in Connecticut and my husband and I decided on a Jean Yves suit. First I had to scour New Jersey in order to find someone that carried the suit. Low and behold I found Savvi Formalware. The measurements on my nephew and father in law were done by someone who had left the company within the month it took the suits to come in and that’s where the headache began. On my nephew the shirt and jacket sleeves were too long. Which I understand. I also work in a specialty store and not everything comes in perfect. The suit was then sent out to be altered but my family was leaving two days after the suits had come in and sent out to be altered. They were promised that both suits would be done the next day so they could travel two hours to Connecticut. Well, Thursday may 14th my mother in law went to pick both suits up and only my father in law’s suit was altered and ready. Apparently they don’t have alterations on site like many other formalwear places do. So I called highly upset because my nephew was an important component of the wedding. My MIL got the ring around that the suit would be delivered by Friday at 12PM. Which was my rehearsal day, no one would be in Jersey to pick them up. So they promised a Saturday delivery by noon. Well our wedding was pushed up to noon so there was a chance that his suit wouldn’t have made it in time. The suit arrived to my home in Connecticut at 10AM on Saturday. That’s the only reason they are getting one star Because the suit was in on time. Now it’s been about a week after the wedding and my MIL is receiving text messages that my nephews suit wasn’t returned. It’s borderline harassment and I will be reporting this location to the Better Business Bureau. How unprofessional can one location be? If I were you, I would stay away from this location and not give them any of your money. They will screw you over and refuse to refund you for a service they mess up on.

I never actually rented any tuxes from here, so why am I reviewing it? Well as a member of the Savvi Formalwear network, they fitted all 6 of my groomsmen plus my dad and brother-in-law, free of charge, and with quality and detail. The wedding was in California so I went with a local Tux shop in Torrance, CA, who told me my NJ groomsmen could and should get fitted at any Savvi Formalwear member in the country, as they knew best how to fit and measure them. I did a web search and found Sarno and Son in Rockaway. I told them I had a lot of guys to get fitted so I scheduled an appointment with them. I went with my guys on a Saturday morning and the employee there happily fitted all my guys. He not only took measurements, he had them try on sample dress shirts, pants and jackets to confirm the measurements. If you needed a neck extender, he wrote it down. If you wanted a tighter fitting shirt to show off your physique, he wrote it down. He filled out the form I gave him for each guy and he handed them to me when he was done. He was such a nice kid, I gave him a nice tip. If I ever were to rent a tux from a place in NJ, this would be the place. While I was waiting for my friends to get fitted, I browsed their book of tuxes, and they even had camouflage tuxes! Oh yeah! P. S. After you make all your friends come here for a fitting, bring them over to nearby Morris Tap and Grill for some craft beer!
