Quaint home run winery with fantastic offering of wine. Officially he has 6 wines listed on the tasting menu all good some fantastic. Don was a very pleasant host and was quite eager to show off his basement winery. For those that dislike reds due to their heavy oak taste, you might actually like Tilmon’s red offerings as they are all aged in stainless steel barrels. Because of the stainless steel, the flavor of the grape(s) are not masked. Don also broke into a carboy of Syrah for me to taste; he made this two years ago and only has enough left to fill two cases. We bought 4 bottles of wine(2 bottles of Bay Country Chambourcin [full red {skin & seeds with juice} aged without oak], 1 bottle of Nectar de Harbor Ct [Chambourcin juice only], and DameJudith’s Red Hat Red). One of his offerings is made with Concord Grapes that he grows in his own back yard. The rest of the grapes he purchases from local Maryland farms. This is one we plan to re-visit.
