Nansemond Pediatrics

Doctor’s here are great, and take the time to get to know your kiddos. I go to the downtown location, but they have others. My child has special needs, and we had every referral to CHKD that we could have asked for, immediately. What a team!

I really want to give this place a 5. Dr. Brooks (formerly McCormick) is such a wonderful wonderful doctor to my son. I appreciate that she trusts that while I may not want to do the things she suggests, she will offer other guidance. I never feel like she looks down upon my parenting choices and always treats my concerns as valid. She’s wonderful and her nurse Nicole (?) is just as good. She was able to give four shots and put bandaids on both areas before my son was able to even react. I cannot say enough good things about the two of them.
We’ve also seen Dr. Grosso and Dr. Curry. Both are nice and competent, but I guess I expect the same exceptional service Dr. Brooks gives.
My complaint is the staff. Aside from Dr Brooks’s nurse, the other dr’s nurses are ho hum. The front desk staff are either miserable looking or have no personality at all. I get people having bad days, but some of these ladies act like they are having a permanently bad day. If it were a regular dr’s office, it wouldn’t bother me. But they need to suck it up for the kids.

I love this practice. My daughter was born at Obici and the doctors here saw her at the hospital. Our primary care physician is Dr. McCormick, but my duaghter has seen all of the physicians, and they are all great.

I am really, really pleased with Nansemond Pediatrics. Dr. Chirrico is our primary doctor and she is really wonderful. She has a great personality and takes the time to answer questions thoroughly.
