Emily Kay Salon

I’ve been going to Emily for a couple years. I have never had a bad experience! Shes always friendly, willing to work with my crazy schedule, provides a stylish cut and color that lasts and looks very natural. I have sent several people to her and they too have been impressed. I won’t go anywhere else!

I am officially done trying Emily Kay. I first went over a year ago and had a just ok experience. I found Katrina in downtown Batavia and have been going there. It is a bit of a drive for me so I considered trying Emily Kay again but I have had such good experiences at Katrina. Well I saw that Emily Kay had a groupon offer so I thought that would be a perfect opportunity to give them a try again. The groupon said a shampoo, cut and style. Well I got a shampoo but they struggled brushing my hair. I think I needed more conditioner. They used a brush on my wet hair not a comb. My wet hair soaked through the cape and my sweater was soaking wet so now I am freezing. Once my hair was brushed the cut was fine from what I could tell but there was no style. She quickly blow dried some of it (I left with wet hair) and she said she was done. I commented I guess I’ll straight iron it when I get home and she just asked if that takes long. Another girl was getting her hair done the same time as me but they actually spent time on her hair. She got there before me and they were still styling her hair when I left. Goes to show you get what you pay for. I had a groupon so I didn’t get that great of service. I should have known I wouldn’t get a great experience but I thought I would try. I do wonder if I would have had a better experience if I paid full price but then again why offer the groupon? Whatever. I am done. No more tries with this place. I have to drive past it to get to Katrina’s but at least on my drive home I will have great looking hair and not look like I just rolled out of bed on a static-​y day. I just can’t imagine sending someone out of a salon with wet frizzy hair. Is that really good for business?

I loved visiting Emily Kay Salon! While I only had a haircut, this salon is a one stop shop. Can’t wait to get a mani and pedi… and some fall color by my favorite stylist, Angela. I really love her style and sense of humor. Everyone there is super friendly and the salon itself is adorable and very trendy! Go treat yourself!

We just moved to the area recently and found this Aveda salon earlier in the year. My husband and I both go and have had good experiences. Emily does my husband’s cuts, and Angela does my cuts, nails, waxing. The staff is always couteous, and the salon clean and we’ll maintained in a convenient location.

I’ve been here a few times to have my eyebrows done and they are quick and efficient. In and out within 10 minutes. The staff are friendly without being over talkative. I have also had my hair cut here and they did a really nice job. Although an appointment is preferred, for eyebrows I can usually just drop in and it’s totally fine.
The décor is modern chic. There’s this beautiful chandelier on the inside and they told me people rave about it all the time. I would seriously like to have it inside my house.
Prices are affordable and it is close to my house, so I will continue to return to this salon.

I just had a wonderful experience at Emily Kay salon. I had a haircut with Emily (the owner), and she did a lovely job cutting my hair into a ton of beautiful layers. The salon itself is clean, pleasant and up to date with all the amenities anyone could ask for in a modern yet cozy space. This is hands down one of the nicest salons in the area.

Love this salon! No doubt you will get a great experience here. Reasonable prices and well educated stylists as well.

I get my eyebrow waxing (and other bits) done here and I have to say the prices are reasonable. The salon is clean and well maintained. I appreciate the customer service. Everyone is very friendly with me.

For what this place is, and the location, the salon isn’t good. I had my hair cut and colored 3 times by the same person, and was never called for my next appointment. She apparently left, but nobody bothered to call me to reschedule with someone else. Ellen did my hair last, and she is awesome. I really enjoyed my time there, and she did a great great job. HOWEVER. the pricing is astronomical. I mean they charge for everything, including if you get an extra «bowl» of hair dye/​developer. 6 oz of extra will cost you. They charge you for a blow dry. They charge you for everything. Seriously, I think I spent $ 220 the last time I was there, then had to tip 20%, which is insane.

I started coming here as it was the closest Aveda Salon to my home. I’ve now been going for almost a year and I’ve had a great experience whether with cut, color, products, waxing, or mani/​pedi. I even brought my 2 year old daughter for a haircut and they did an excellent job. It’s trendy, relaxed, and a great gem for Sugar Grove. Try it out!

I started going here when they first opened last year and was so excited that there was finally a nice salon opening in Sugar Grove versus going to Hair Cuttery. I immediately fell in love with how Kristin did my hair and I enjoyed her overall. I stopped going here because it got to be too expensive since my husband and I were out of jobs. I still love this salon and if I had the money to go back I would.
