4 stars for customer service 0 stars for not having furniture when expected Have not received furniture in spite of having two estimated delivery dates. After heavily complaining to the owner, we were offered the floor model to use until our order comes in due to the timely nature of why we need the items. Unfortunately, that solution will not work for our needs. The owner seems congenial and appears to want to help solve the issue, which I would rate as 4 stars, however, the miscommunicated arrival time(we were told 7 – 10 days at date of purchase, but were later told that correct lead time is 2 — 3 weeks) length of time for items to arrive and uncertainty of when the furniture will arrive leaves me feeling that 0 stars would best reflect those issues). I will update this rating once the transaction is finalized.

Ordered a couple of end tables that would take 2 weeks to arrive. 4 weeks later, I picked them up. Nick(the owner) put a damaged box in my car, one of the end tables was broken beyond repair and I’m still not sure why he didn’t at least check the box to ensure it was in good condition. Had to wait another week or so before a replacement arrived. I had to do all the calls to follow up. Whatever discount I got was absolutely NOT worth the hassle.

I purchased a complete bedroom set from Nick’s in August of 2013. Paid in full that day. A few weeks later I was informed that the set I purchased was no longer available. I then choose a new set that was $ 142.56 less then the original set. When the new furniture was delivered, the media chest and bed were damaged. I sent pictures of the damage to the store immediately. I was told they would send a person to repair it. I refused and said I purchased a NEW undamaged set and should get a NEW undamaged set. They ordered a new media chest and no bed. I was called a few weeks later and told the new media chest was also damaged and they were ordering a new one again. I waited again, and they showed up with the new media chest and it was damaged AGAIN! I sent it back. They delivered a new media chest again a few weeks later and it was not damaged. Through this process I kept questioning what about the damaged bed and no response. I sent pictures, the delivery guy said he would replace it, nothing. I questioned the refund and at first I was willing to just do a store credit as I was in the market to purchase a living room set. After the experience I had I choose to no longer do business with this company and asked for a refund. I was told I had to have the refund credited back to my original credit card that was charged over 6 months previously. I said ok and sent them my cc info and again asked about the damaged bed? The response was they were unaware of the damaged bed. I then forwarded them the emails and pictures of the damaged bed that were sent originally and no response from them again! A month later still no refund. I finally had enough and called. I was told they didn’t have my cc info AGAIN to process the refund. I asked if my husband could just come and pick up a check for the $ 142.56 and again they said no, it had to be a cc refund. I again gave them my cc info over the phone. I asked for an email of the receipt and no response. I called AGAIN and spoke to the owner and he had the guy send me the receipt via email. Still no refund 4 days later. Called the owner again and he said«At this point it is out of my control, it was taken from my account. Call your cc company» I still have not received the refund or a new undamaged bed and it has been almost a year now.

When I was searching for new Young America bedroom furniture for my kids, their prices were cheaper than every store I went to in the Fox Valley. I will definitely be stopping there again for our next piece of furniture. Very knowledgeable staff that helped me find just what I am looking for. It’s worth getting a price from Nick’s!

I was in the market for a new bedroom set for my son(4yrs) and wanted to buy nice quality stuff that could last him till he’s out on his own. Went to many big box stores(Ashley, Value City, Room place. you name it) before stopping here and glad I did. They are very easy going and not all of your once you walk in, always available if you have questions or would like for them to help you. I ended up going with a set I saw at another store, but got it from Nick’s at much better price. If your in the market for new furniture and want the best bang for your buck this is your place. I’m looking forward to many more rooms from Nick’s!!!

Buyer Beware! I will not be returning! I purchased my daughter’s bedroom set while I was pregnant in 2010 as we needed to get her out of the crib and into a bed. When it was delivered we found some scratches on the dresser and a small area on the nightstand where the top was starting to peel off. The delivery drivers even pointed out some of the scratches and noted it on the delivery slip. We called and told Nick about it; he told us we would have to take photos and he would send them to the company to see what they would do. We also purchased a headboard and Nick assured me it would attach to ANY standard bed frame. When it was delivered we noticed it had slots for rails and we CANNOT attach it to a frame. He told us he would look into it and get back to us. My daughter is now 3 and my baby is 1 and I still haven’t heard anything! We were planning on going back to purchase our living room furniture once the above issues were addressed. Needless to say we did not return! We also purchased a basic mattress and it is the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever laid on. We will be replacing it this year.

Nick’s furniture is absolutely great! I was lucky enough to work with Nick himself and he was extremely informative, helpful, patient, and very pleasant! Buying furniture can definitely be a stressful purchase due to the amount of money you are spending but Nick was able to make it quite enjoyable! I drove out to Sugar Grove from Chicago and the drive was so worth it AND I received an excellent price on delivery into the city! Support your local businesses and stay away from the big box stores, you will not be disappointed! I will be going to Nick’s for years to come!
