We had a horrible experience tonight for dinner at this restaurant. We had to ask for service when no one came to our table after being seated and it appeared that there were not enough waitresses to accommodate all of the tables. It took way too long for the waitress to take our order and provide us with bowls to make our dinners. They were out of sauce cups and it took way too long for them to replenish them. Then they delivered my bowl but it wasn’t my bowl! Obviously there was a mix up with the name cards and someone else got my creation. The manager told me to make a new bowl — and my daughter had to make a new bowl as well since they lost her order altogether! So two in our party were eating and two were making new bowls and having to wait until they were cooked and brought to our table. The only redeeming thing I can say is that the manager on her own accord told us that they were not going to charge us for two lost orders. Very disappointing!!!

Hostess/Manager has terrible attitude. I came in with my boyfriend(who wasn’t hungry because he ate already) and my cousin. We asked for two bowls, and she lectured us. «If I see anyone picking at each other bowls, I’ll charge your for three»… wtf? Okay? You can simply tell us the rules and regulations, not pretty much threaten us. I was heated. Then I they had my food messed up. I wanted the noodles and got rice. I didn’t even want to waste my time and ask them to fix it. I just took it ate it and left. I have NOT been back since.

I have been here many times and have noticed a steady improvement for a while, management seems to be doing it right. They have food for all types of diets and have lots of new items on the menu. I go for lunch and dinner as the mood calls for. They have all day happy hour specials and the food is really good, pretty much however you choose to make it. I tend to stick with a handful of sauces I like though. The staff is very nice and attentive and portions on all three bowls are pretty good size.

My fried ordered his bowl with fried rice and what he got was some under cooked rice and some burnt friend rice, mine on the other hand was delicious

For the record, this location no longer accepts coupons. It is a bit expensive for what you’re getting. The large bowl(which isn’t really large at all) is $ 15. The setup is awful. The raw meat splatters everywhere. No one cleans up the area, so it’s incredibly messy. The same goes for the area where the veggies are. We came on a Friday night, and it wasn’t busy, so I’m not sure why they couldn’t have kept up with the cleanliness of the area where you pick your meats and veggies. **update — I don’t consider buy one get one free as a typo. They just no longer accept coupons they originally agreed to.

My family and me have been eating here for a few years, 5 or 6 times a year. Service has always been very good, friendly staff. I only remember once when it was packed and food took a long time, all other times it’s been quick. The place has been improving, now they have 3 different sizes of bowls and shrimp is back in the lunch items!

I only come here whenever there’s a promotion. The manager ruins it every time for me. For example, I came in for their Buy 1 Get 1 Free Bowl and was told by the host and manager that I could not get it to-go. I would only be able to get the special if I dined in. First off, no where on the coupon does it say that to-go isn’t allowed. Secondly, how am I supposed to eat 2 bowls by myself dining in? This happens every single time and there is NO written rule about no to-go during these promotions. I decided to «dine-in» and quickly paid for my Buy 1 Get 1 Free bowl and waited for my orders to be cooked. The chef asked me if it was to-go and I said yes and she packed it to-go for me. I dashed out afterwards. There was another time that my mom tried to get the orders to-go and got into it with the manager about the same promotion. We came home to find out that they gave us someone else’s order!!! Ridiculous. If you’re so stuck with the fact that it’s dine-in only, then perhaps you should post a sign up somewhere. Apparently there is another location that allows to-go but it’s nowhere near me. Luckily, their food is good and there’s lots of variety. Edit: Tried using the coupon on the last day to dine in but was rejected. They said, «We stopped accepting the coupon after 4pm.» Once again, no where on the coupon does it say that…

Where to begin?! This place has gone downhill so fast it’s unbelievable! First off, my family and I get there and stood at the entrance for a couple of minutes before we were even acknowledged(guess the staff was too busy finishing their personal conversations). We are seated and then wait more for our waiter to come over. At this point we see there are only 3 other tables besides us already eating so can’t understand why it’s taking so long. Finally he comes over and takes our drink and appetizer order. We get up and get our food. The area where they keep the food is wet and messy… but ok I understand maybe they haven’t had«time» to clean. We get back to our table and our bowls come out shortly. We actually got half way done with our meal before the waiter even checked on us and our appetizer still hadn’t come out! We finally get our appetizer and finished our meal… and then we waited and waited and waited to pay our bill. We finally got fed up and asked another worker to bring us our bill. We were never offered any refills nor did our waiter come by our table more than once. The cherry on top was when we finally paid our bill he charged us for another bowl! Seriously?! We were 2 adults and 2 children, where the heck did the extra bowl come from? Needless to say, we will most definitely not come back.

Went here for the first time, and was a little skeptical how the system works. But the staff were very pleasant and more than helpful. Our waiter, Melody, took us thru the steps and even walked us down to the ingredient bar. She also constantly checked in with us to see if we needed anything else. So they have all the ingredient for ur selection in this kinda open salad bar system, where you select from a variety of meats, then spices, then veggies and finally sauces. You’re supposed to fill your little bowl as much as you can with everything u want, and then keep it on the counter table for the cook to get to it, with your little name card next to the bowl. You also get to select your desired carbs(rice, noodles, tortilla or just go healthy with cabbage). You can watch him cook your food on this giant round table kind of stove, and when its ready they’ll bring it to your table. I suppose it takes some trial and error at times for cooking the perfect combination. But they even thought that thru, as they have these small recipe cards whoch you can follow when filling your ingredient bowl. Overall, i thoroughly enjoyed the food and experience. And the Khan membership card has plenty of benefits like a free birthday bowl! So make sure to sign up for it!

Went there for lunch. Pleasantly greeted and shown out table. Server was crystal and she was very helpful and professional. Food was very tasty but the Cajun chicken my buddy had was too spicy for him. He’s a sissy. My scallops and mushrooms were tasty and the manager even came by to check on us. Very good.

10.00 for a very small portion of food. The servers are pleasant, but the food quality and quantity was not worth it. It was a sufficient size for me, but my husband would need 3 servings to fill up. Only one size of bowl is available. I overheard someone saying there is new ownership and that’s why it had changed, as I did read in previous reviews that there were other options. Not any more. I won’t be returning.

Didn’t realize how bad the reviews were. LISTENPEOPLE. The reviews are legit. First time ever and this place is horrible. The guy in front who greeted us was great. The rest of the employee’s have bad attitudes or no life in them and it’s the same people cooking your food is just a weird experience. And not so sure about all the food sitting there uncovered. And bending rules like allowing a indian family eat out of one bowl is just crazy if I would have know I would of tried the same thing with my friend because the $ 50+ we spent was not worth it.

When will I ever learn… lol. Decided to give this place just ONE more try. Honestly, it was only because we got a coupon in the mail for 2 bowls, 2 drinks for $ 20. When we got there, we realized it wasn’t THAT good of a deal but whatever. This place is even worse than before. It’s sad how such a cool establishment has gone downhill in a city like Sugar Land. All other GG’s are run so much better — maybe it’s time the owner of this one makes some changes. 1) At 5pm on a Saturday afternoon, when the place is pretty busy, you would think there would be someone refilling the vegetables. Nope. 2) They have a slightly different system now — thank goodness we looked at the table number we were seated at because when we were picking our starch, we were asked for the number. It would have been nice if the waitress mentioned something about it to customers. Speaking of the starch, we got an extremely small portion. Two people complained and asked for more, lol. 3) The food took FOREVER. I’m talking 30 minutes. The table near us literally went and grabbed their own bowls from the drillmaster because the bowls were just sitting there. That being said, they were being cooked on time, there were just not enough people working to bring them to the customers. They aren’t even under a heat lamp! 4) On the note of not enough people working, it seemed like there were TWO servers serving the entire restaurant. They were running around all over the place and it seems like there were no bussers because the servers were also the ones cleaning the tables. 5)It took us another THIRTY minutes to get our check. Like I said above the servers were working as hard as they could so they weren’t slacking… they just needed to have more people working! 5) There were flies EVERYWHERE. Even near the meat/vegetables. 6) The back of the restaurant(near the restroom) reeked of urine. Gross. It seems like this place is slowly going out of business. Everyone around us seemed to have been using that coupon so I feel like GG probably put it out there to get business. They should have had more people working so that the customers would have a good experience that didn’t involve waiting. This time, I promise, we aren’t coming back. We’ve given it TOO many chances.

When I first came in, I was a little skeptical. It’s Monday at 4:30, but I was the only customer. Okay. No biggie! Easier for me to pig out alone than have people staring at me wondering why I’m alone? Although pretty empty, the staff definitely delivered awesome customer service! I asked the bartender for a fruity drink and he brung a drink that was AMAZING! I wish I could get free refills! My food tastes fresh and exactly how I projected it would taste. I would definitely revisit here with my friends and family!

Great customer service! The indoor interior is a LOT cozier than other Genghis locations I’ve been, and I love how there seems to be more meat and other options than I remember made available to mix! I love how I was able to eat almost all of my bowl and not feel full, despite having ordered fried rice and the only place I’d tolerate their yummy brown rice! I mixed two popular sauces alongside adding an egg, the vegetables are absolutely yummy and they have calamari which I took advantage of! Anyways, I will definitely be back for more bowls, including the seasoned beef and mushrooms which I always get, but the pork is definitely something I’ll keep in my future bowls!

Ads everywhere say, «Free ticket to Texas Renaissance Faire with every bowl! » my husband and I took our daughter and the 3 of us each got a bowl. When we called for our check, the waitress said that we could only get 1 ticket, per check regardless of how many bowls. We questioned this so she went to ask the manager and came back standing her ground. So, we told her to split the check up into 3 checks, to get 3 tickets. She did it, we paid, and then she said they«will email» us the tickets at some later date. My husband went to a Genghis Grill by his office, and on a single check, 2 bowls, they were handed two paper tickets to the ren faire. We only went to this Sugar Land location for the TRF tickets because we stopped going here a long time ago in favor of the Kublai Khan that’s a block away. Better choices, better service, better environment. This Sugar Land Genghis Grill is screwing people. Don’t go there, go on to Kublai Khan instead.

I went here at the request of one of my friends and it wasn’t the best experience. When we first sat down we were waiting for at least 15 minutes for someone to approach us about our drink orders. When no one showed up we decided to go ahead and get in line to assemble our bowls. The area where you choose your ingredients and toppings wasn’t very clean. There was food spilled on the sides. I can see how this area could get messy very quickly with people serving themselves, but it would be nice to have workers come by every once in a while to clean it up a bit. I assembled my bowl and got to the area where I hand my bowl off to the cook. I was waiting around for a while. Then for some reason the cook came up and started taking the bowls of the people behind me. Not sure why she skipped over me. Finally after a few minutes of waiting she took my bowl. Once we sat down and were waiting for our food to arrive, the waitress came by and asked if we had been there before and if we knew how it worked. We then informed her that we were past that point and had already dropped off our bowls. While we were trying to decide what drinks to get she went off to do some other work and didn’t come back for a while. Finally the manager came up to us and asked what drinks we wanted. He was very friendly and really tried to make an extra effort to make sure we had everything we needed. Finally the bowls came over to our table and they all turned out ok. I didn’t like mine at all bc it tasted too peppery, but that was probably my fault(bc I had chosen the cajun marinated chicken and some spicyish sauce). The two friends I was with thought theirs was just ok as well. I also ordered a watermelon lemonade which was sub par. I was hoping for chucks of watermelon and real lemonade. But instead I got what I’m pretty sure was watermelon syrup and some fountain drink lemonade. It just tasted like sugar water. Didn’t really enjoy the food or drinks at this place so probably wouldn’t return. The only reason I gave it two stars was because of the friendliness of the manager.

Went down hill so quick. Sticky floors, mixed food In the lines. Slow service. Tables are not clean. Sticky everywhere including the bathrooms. Too bad it’s been taken over by the trash that has moved into sugarland. Used to be good. So sad.

Tonight was my second and last visit to this location. On both my first and second visit, I had made sure that on the back on the card that I fill out before bringing my food to the chef to prepare, I marked brown rice. Both visits I was served white rice. Having recently being diagnosed with diabetes, being served the wrong pasta is bad for my health. As the other reviewers have mentioned, service is lacking. That is not the problem. Management is lacking. The place needs to close.

I used to frequent here a lot when it just opened and slowly everything is falling apart… When it first opened, there was lots of friendly staff helping you along the process and now it’s rare to see someone behind the counter. The assembling line was very clean and tidy but now it’s not common where I see some things are mixed together or spilt sauce. But besides that I know that I can get a yummy bowl. My personal favorite sauce combination is a little bit of the red pepper paste with the chili garlic and kahn’s sauce? It’s a good mix if you like spicy! But with my last visit… my food was luke warm. The fried rice that I got on the side tasted like something I would make.(not good). Haha. The consistency with the food is not always the best. As far as customer service goes, it’s always been great! No complaints there!
