I just walked in here to see if they have any options for my bridal outfits. As soon as I walked in, the owner noticed me and did not even say hi or ask me what I was looking for. She had a few ladies in the back trying on outfits and did not even look at me once. Then I asked her where the chanya choli style outfits were and she pointed to where. I looked around and noticed that she really did not care for me being there as a customer. Not worth the price either. Collection looks ok, not that great! I wouldn’t recommend this place

I’ve heard the owner can be mean, but I didn’t have a problem with this. The customer service was pretty good. The lady was nice. Maybe people just walked into the store on the wrong day or something. The clothes had unique designs, overall great store!

I went to KeMaYa in Sugar Land (June 7 2014) just to see if i liked anything before i decided to venture out to Hilcroft and deal with all of the stress of going to multiple places to find an outfit for a wedding I had the following weekend (1 week). I worked with Mumtaz who was very helpful and very friendly. I found two outfits that I fell in love with on the spot, so like any other Indian/​Pakistani clothing store, you get to the point and start talking about prices, (I had to dig deep down to my inner voice, thinking like how my mother in Pakistan would haggle for prices) after a couple of minutes we came to a reasonable price which made both of us happy. Then the issue came to when i would need the outfit… When I said I needed it by next week, she looked at me and said no problem (after laughing at me for shopping/​ordering it so last minute, sorry that’s how i roll LOL). I was a little worried that she was so confident that she will have it for me in less than a week, but she totally kept her word!!! :) I placed my order on Saturday and I received them pressed and ready to wear (exact fitting by the way) by Friday morning (within 6 days). I am very pleased with the work, timing/​delivery, fitting and the customer service of Kemaya /​Mumtaz!

This lady and her partner are going to end up in hell because of the way they scam people. You will never get what you paid for, that’s if you get it at all before it’s too late. It’s not just lack of customer service, its them being conniving, and just pure evil. Oh and I told her what people had to say about her online and she said «I don’t care what people say or think of me.» Great way to feel right? STAY AWAY!!! Weddings are stressful as it is, but if you don’t want to jepordize your wedding outfits shop elsewhere!

This place has great quality clothing and original designs. BUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUUUUUCKS!!! basically, i was smart enough to have them sign a contract that i wrote up as a legal binding document… this kept them from being able to jip me but others weren’t so lucky… my purchase was about 3500 for my wedding outfit and my groom’s…i had to haggle like crazy to get the sharara down from 3200 to 2500… anyway, the top was designed and redesigned so they had to send it to india to get made… it finally came in 6 days before my wedding… and that’s after i hounded them for 8 months!!!
My husband’s outfit was custom designed and came out the exact OPPOSITE of what i had ordered… in fact, on the paper for shahnaaz i had included what i absolutely did not want so she couldn’t mess it up… lo and behold, she did… so i fought to have it remade… again, i wrote a contract out so they pretty much had no choice. His outfit showed up only after he arrived from New Jersey.
My aunts/​sisters/​cousins bought from them too but only ready-​made outfits… they ended up having dupattas that didn’t go with the outfits but matched enough to work…
This place is excellent for walk in purchases but for ordering, DO NOT TRUST THEM UNLESS YOU WRITE AND HAVE THEM SIGN A CONTRACT! They know you can take legal action for that… THIS IS YOUR RECEIPT B/​C THEY DON’T GIVE YOU ONE!!! good luck.

worst customer service… worst owner. it was a sickening experience. if the owner doesn’t learn to respect customers then this place should not be visited.

Horrible customer service. We also waited, and waited, while the associates talked amongst themselves. No prices are marked, so they just make them up depending on how vulnerable you look. The bride ended up ordering from this store, and the items were VERY late, but somehow managed to make it just days before her wedding.

Most unique Indian clothes. Great service and amazing clothes. Highly recommend!

Terrible service. I purchased 2 salwar kameez from mumtaz. She was supposed to mail them to me after altering them. I paid cash and never got my 2 outfits. I’ve put in several phone calls and no response.
This is stealing in my opinion and I’m not sure what do do since I live so far away. I would never trust this place.

In a crunch, I ventured over to the the Indian clothing store, Kemaya, to avoid the crowds in the Hillcroft area. Sure enough, this place was SLOW. in a good and bad way.
There was not a whole lot to pick from — and I’ll be totally honest — some of the clothes look like they’ve been worn before… in public… EWW! I mean there was wear stains in the underarm areas and slight food/​bvg stains that isn’t typical for new duds. There were a FEW fashion-​forward designs, but most of it looked like it was concocted with mis-​coordinating scraps of other apparel. It just looked strange!
There was only 1 other customer in the store who was FULLY DEMANDING the attention of the clerk — in an almost upsetting way. There was another non-​english-​speaking associate there eating her spicy Indian food in an overlooking office… Maybe she’s the one who stains the clothes. Shrug. I was a bit intimidated by both associates but decided to browse the hangers and request a fitting room ever… so…patiently. And by the way, the fitting rooms are dismal-​looking with strange stains and dirty floors. How can this be for a new-​ish establishment? I can honestly say I’ve seen cleaner clothing stores — IN INDIA!
Now, I have a very average-​small frame and the clothes were really ill-​fitting. This again, led me to believe that I wasn’t getting the crème-​de-​la-​crème in selection. I did find an outfit to work (needed something «new» for a diwali party… and this sort-​of fit). Unfortunately, there was not shawl in sight to coordinate with it. That is when the just-​fed associate referred to an ottoman with scraps of clothing and extra shawls. We could’t find a piece that totally went with the outfit, but something pretty close.
And this is where the customer service went TOTALLY DOWNHILL. The phone rings and just-​fed associate grabs the phone and the somewhat-​matching shawl to the back. She comes back a minute or two later (still bickering on the phone) but back with the garment folded up. She folds and bags up the other parts of the outfit. The english-​speaking associate is gestured to devise a price. I am disappointed at the negotiated price ($ 178) for such a strange-​fitting, poor quality outfit — but I don’t have enough time to get to Hillcroft. Shuks.
So I get home to dress into my outfit and notice the BEADING FROM THE SHAWL IS REMOVED! And I know it’s the same exact shawl I had looked at, because the severed threads are draping from the ends. Having a little familiarity with the clothing, i know the beading isn’t really expensive (or worth SNAGGING from a customer) — it’s more a matter of the time that these were affixed to the shawl. And there an IDIOT goes to salvage a few parts and ruin a shawl! What a COMPLETELY DISTASTEFUL thing to do!
Some of my friends suggested I call the store and complain but I don’t really think this place was interested in my business to begin with.
So if you’re looking for poorly-​designed clothing with atrocious customer service, venture over to Kemaya and kiss your rupees goodbye!
