My husband and I came here because were in the mood for Szechuan food. The restaurant is sorta small, but holds a decent amount of people. The food is great and the service was good too. I would come back here to check out more items on the menu.

I only eat beef and chicken so the dishes offered were not very appealing for me. However, I ended up ordering the cold noodles with shredded chicken. It was a simple, but pretty good dish, and very filling. It was not spicy, but the sauce when mixed with the noodles makes the dish flavorful. I would go back to get this dish again, but hopefully there would be more variety in future. It was interesting that they did not have a lot of spicy dishes since it is szechuan food they are offering. However, I had a small chat with the owner and was surprised to learn that the foods they offer here are from three cuisines: Szechuan, Guangdong, and the third one I forgot. Maybe that’s why it’s not too spicy.

Love their wonton! Cabbage are a bit more oily then what I would like, but still quite tasty. Will come back(but probably stick with their Sichuan food).

For our anniversary dinner, We went to this new restaurant tonight and we loved their decoration, their dishes and their wonderful service. We ordered some vegetarian dishes, including their handmade noodles, pickled green bean stir fry with bean curd, and stir fry cabbage. The food tasted great and I think we will come here for dinner in the future.

This was a fantastic experience exceeding all expectations. We have been to many Chinese Szechuan restaurants in Houston and NYC and abroad but this was a huge treat. We recommend: Red oil won ton Dan Dan noodle Spicy shrimp Tripe Hot and sour Napa cabbage Wonderful!

The best Chinese food I have ever tasted. We had the Spicy Beef Pot, but the most interesting was the cold beef shank and tripe dish. The shrimp with rice cakes was awesome. The dumplings with red oil are also incredible. Great service, great food.

Holy cow. Their food here is absolutely the bomb! A majority of the food served here is Sichuan style, so you should expect to see chili oil in all of your food as well as generous amounts of garlic, anise, and corriander. I think one reviewer complained about it, but its expected with Sichuan cuisine. The red oil dumplings are simply delicious and their Dan Dan noodles and Shredded Chicken noodles are phenomenal. For the price, they also hook you up with a huge portion of food. One additional plus is that their bathroom was extremely clean and the servers were extra friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be back again when I am craving for some good Sichuan food.

My family and I went in on a Sunday evening and they were packed! My father in law ordered every item off the daily special. I’m not too sure if I’m too fond of those dishes, but they were a hit or miss. Honestly, it wasn’t what most people usually order but if it’s on the daily special, I would think it would be of better quality. There was a tripe stir fried dish, bacon & leek dish, pork belly, pork and stir fried vegetable, and steamed pork and chicken. Pros: — complimentary fresh white rice — dishes had alot of flavor — decent service for an Asian restaurant — if you pay cash, you get a 5% discount –Pork belly Cons: –specialty dishes were small for what you pay for –if there’s meat in the dish, they skimp out on the meat –drenched in oil — it adds flavor for sure, but I’m not sure if most people’s gastrointestinal system would handle that too well if it’s dripping off the side of your chopsticks and your mouth — they lean more on the«tad too salty» side — could be a problem if someone you dine with has water retention issues Just because the daily specials didn’t hit it off with me, it doesn’t mean I’ll steer away from a second try. I will definitely be back to try their more famous ones like the«red-oil wontons» even if it means oil will drip all over you.

I don’t live in Sugarland, so I feel lucky to have discovered this little gem of a Chinese restaurant. Who would guess that one could find a Chinatown-style hole-in-the-wall in the land of the Big Buffet and the Chain Restaurant? But my wife and I had decided to take one of our Missouri City friends out to dinner and she recommended Yuan Kitchen, so we took her there. I was delighted to find that this tiny place, with 8 tables, focuses on Sichuan-style dishes, which, although becoming more common with the rise of Mala Sichuan Bistro and others, are still hard to come across. This restaurant is clearly for Chinese patrons: Although the the menu items have English as well as Chinese names, the English names aren’t always very descriptive. Therefore, it is a good idea to come here with a Chinese friend or two(like truck drivers, they usually know the best places). We had the _fu qi fei pian_(tangy slices of beef and beef lungs, although that’s not exactly what the menu says), the beef tripe with vegetables, a noodle dish, and the red-oil wontons. The latter were, by all accounts, the favorite at our table. I myself have always liked fuqi feipian, but I especially liked Yuan Kitchen’s version, with a muscular Sichuan flavor(which Chinese people refer to as _ma la_— a mixture of Sichuan pepper with red chili) Yuan Kitchen is a no-nonsense place with few amenities(Only one picture on the wall). No «My name is Zhang and I will be your server tonight.» But the paucity of unoccupied tables on a Sunday evening told me that business is good at the Yuan Kitchen. I hope they will stick around!

My family loves this place! The food and service is fantastic! Everyone working here from the waitresses to the cooks to the owners are so nice and helpful. A family business that we gladly support. Definitely try the red oil wontons and the lamb with vegetables noodles. We also enjoy their cabbage dish. Many items are a bit spicy, but they’ll adjust according to your requests.

First off, majority of the dishes on the menu are spicy. Ordered the wontons, big chicken noodle plate, and the pork and leek stir fry. Nothing impressed us in terms of flavor and the chicken dish seemed to have more potatoes than chicken. Not sure how this restaurant will do in the long run as it caters mainly to those who like spicy food.

Try the Red Oil Wontons! They are delicious! The Cold noodles with pulled chicken is a perfect refreshing summer dish.

A good hidden gem in the same spot that used to be Little Shanghai. The menu is smaller and consists of various staple dishes from different parts of China. We ordered the couples beef tendon and tripe, the red oil wontons, and the cold noodles. The portion size on the couples beef tendon and tripe was huge so don’t let the price scare you. The tendon and tripe was spicy and numbing and the cold noodle was spicy and tangy. Though all the dishes were great, the red oil wontons were by far the best and had a spicy yet sweet taste to them.

A great new restaurant that has a traditional homemade feel. The food is on par with home cooked flavors, cooking dishes from all over China. The flavors and spices burst from the dish with a lasting impression on the tongue. They also cater to vegetarians with the last four dishes under their entrees. I’ve tried both the cabbage dish and hot/sour potatoes(both vegetarian) and I can recommend both dishes.

This is the newest Chinese restaurant to pop-up in Sugar Land, replacing what was once Little Shanghai. The restaurant doesn’t have one«Chinese cuisine» that it specializes in, instead making dishes from all over China. I tried four of their dishes(I can’t remember what they titled the dishes in English, but I’ll give a solid description): Red Oil Dumplings: AMAZING! Some of the best I’ve ever had, and it was so good that we went and ordered another bowl of them. I would definitely go to Yuan just for these. Cold Mung Bean Noodles(«liang pi»): Also very delicious and very tasty; the noodles were a bit harder than ones I’ve had before, but the sauce was great. Organic Chicken with Hand-Cut Noodles: Supposedly, the chicken used in this dish is home-raised. So the meat is tougher and significantly less than what I’m normally used to. The potatoes and the noodles in the dish were great, but I think not a dish worth $ 14. Sour green beans(this is definitely not the name, but it is the only way I can describe the dish): Just don’t get it. Tl;dr: Get red oil dumplings. Everything else isn’t that great.
