Strayer University

I started Strayer in 2004 to finish Undergraduate, and now I’m back to obtain a Masters in October 2014. It’s as good as it gets. It’s an accredited college. The teachers are fine, as long as you interact with them and show some interest.
You make it a learning experience. All faculty members are helpful. My father had a medical emergency and I kept the teacher and campus Dean informed as to my situation. Very helpful to me.

Terrible school for military. They messed up my tuition assistance and I have been dealing with their customer service for over 6 months trying to fix it. The whole time I get called every day to pay the balance of the account. If you have ever called the Xbox customer service line or can picture calling your local cable company everyday for 6 months then you feel my pain. Run far away!

I walked into Strayer one day with my community college transcript in hand wanting to get more information about their business program. What I left with was and outline of what courses would transfer to Strayer, what classes I would need to graduate with a bachelor’s in accounting, and when I would need to take each class if I want to graduate in 1 year (4 quarter-​semesters).
Compared with University of Maryland College Park, Strayer has less bureacracy. If you need to take a prerequisite to stay on track to graduate, you have the option of taking the class at any Strayer campus in the DC/​MD/​VA area that offers it. If no campus is offering it, you can always take it online, because every course is offered online every semester.
Classroom professors are hit or miss. Some are experts in their field, good teachers, or both. While others are lazy, don’t give much or any homework, and occasionally have heart attacks that cause them to miss class sessions (Prof. Karim). Karim was a horrible teacher for intermediate accounting, BTW. Rosenweig is a great teacher for tax.
FOR THE SLACKERS: Online classes have more homework than classroom courses. You probably learn the most this way, as long as you do all the homework, quizzes, and class discussions.
