Great food, great service! In four days we had breakfast at Chester Pikes three times; blueberry pancakes, blueberry muffins, Belgian waffles with strawberry sauce and whipped cream. We also tried most of the desserts they had in the case, Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting, key lime pie, cream puffs, graham pie. They have a baker extraordinaire! We might make a special trip just to eat at Chester’s and pick up some delicious desserts!

I have been hearing about the blueberry pancakes at Chester Pike’s from my husband for at least two years and was excited to finally try this place out. The pancake were delicious as promised, filled with tons of fruit and fluffy perfection. The wait staff on the other hand, was abysmal. We had trouble getting anyone to even look our direction and finally got up to grab our own menus. It was probably 20 minutes before anyone bothered to take our drink orders and the waitress that eventually wandered over never refilled them and barely spoke two words to us. I don’t think I’ve ever been treated with such indifference in a restaurant before. The slow pace of diners doesn’t typically bother me, but they so obviously didn’t just give a sh*t about anyone. I will never come here again.

The place changed hands and it’s a pity. It is not what it was, a really great restaurant. Now just another mediocre place.

From the minute you walk in the door, something is different. Without knowing this beloved spot had been sold, I knew it. No one to greet you at the door with cheer and a beautiful smile; only two waitresses to manage the entire restaurant, and only one really functioning, service was ragged; the food was fine, though served without the bit of garnish that prettied up whatever Ms. Fogg was serving. I realize this is the beginning of their first season, so hopefully things will improve and people will become more comfortable in their work. But Chester Pike’s was much more than just about serving really good food — it had spirit and personality and warmth. I hope and wish the best for the new owner and urge her to find her own way and her own style and continue the tradition of Chester PIke’s.

It was recommended to us to try Chester Pike’s for breakfast, and I am glad it was. Nice staff, clean place. I had the blueberry pancakes and bacon. It was soooo good! We were there on a Saturday morning, and there was mainly locals eating there. It was a great Maine breakfast experience!

Chester Pike’s Galley was just the type of place The L. and I were hoping for when we visited Maine. The town in which we were staying had zero food options and CPG’s was the closest and luckily the bestest. It is a local café offering homemade food from interesting breakfasts reflecting local tastes, yes lobster and crab, to pancakes/french toast and sandwiches and other more hearty fare, but we only had our morning eats there or picked up a mug of their delicious brewed coffee to take on the road. But eating in the dining room was where it was at with its local artists showing their creations on the walls, local businesses cards placed under the glass of the tables along with newspaper articles highlighting and photographs featuring friends and family. It was us who were the odd ones out. And NYers at that! ;))) But we had great service. I usually had basic scrambled eggs and toast or an omelette. The bread was superior. And to make it even better they provided a little serving of handcrafted wild blueberry preserves. Heaven. We ate at Chester Pike’s thrice and each time were pleased with all aspects of our visit. In fact if we are lucky enough to return to that same area of Maine and decide to go, it will be with more visits to CPG’s in mind as they are vegetarian friendly too though the perimeters of what one wishes that to mean should be discussed just to be sure. :))) It was that special and that tasty I wish we had more days there. And those pies!!!(See my photo) Must have a taste the next time. :)))

Great breakfast. Nothing fancy, but all the delicious basics! The hash is delicious! The prices are great. Best fisherman’s breakfast I have had. The staff is very helpful, the homemade breads and deserts are yummy. It is right on Rt 1 and we will be going back again!

This is the sort of place where you wish you could award more than 5 stars. It’s that good. We went for breakfast, and had one of the best meals during our entire visit to the region. Service is wicked fast, and everything was cooked perfectly. My wife had eggs with all the fixings, the kids had amazing blueberry pancakes, and I had a monte cristo sandwich that was superb. Pay the extra charge for the real maple syrup — it is worth it. Make the trip — it is on the way to Schoodic Point and Winter Harbor — and such a delightful meal. Oh, and super reasonable, too.(They also have a wide variety of fresh-baked goods, which looked outstanding — next trip, perhaps.)

This place is ok. The pie looks good, but we did not try it. Today’s lunch was very disappointing. I had fish chowder and a BLT. The fish chowder was full of fish, but had absolutely no flavor. No salt, no pepper, nothing. I had ordered my BLT with very light on the mayo. What a got was essentially a mayo sandwich. I scrapped off as much as I could. There wasn’t much bacon in it, given that this restaurant makes their own bread. The bread size was too big for the scrawny«3» pieces of bacon. I was hungry so i tried to cut the bread down to size, and ate as much as I could. I did tell the waitress I was pretty disappointed that my directions for the sandwich were ignored. I did not send it back. The cook came out shortly and said I should have sent it back immediately, then accused me of sending back french fries the day before. That left a sour taste. This is the closest place to our cabin, but I don’t feel inclined to go back. Gave them three stars because at another meal I had the fish sandwich and it was good. But I just don’t like being accused of things. Also, why wasn’t my request for«not much mayo» listened to by the cook?

One word: BREAD! The bread here at Chester pikes is nothing short of miraculous. Wether your coming here for breakfast, lunch, or one of their prime rib dinners, you’re guaranteed to leave happy. I don’t know anyone who has ever had a bad meal here. The waitresses are nice and polite, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I have had multiple meals here over the years. The most memorable of them probably being their BLT. The bread is homemade every day in their kitchen, and used for all their sandwiches and toast. They also have wide selection of cakes and pies if you are looking for dessert for a gathering. Mmmm!
