Another success story… and I swear… unsolicited praise for this company’s product… just an «old garage mechanic» over here. Just repaired my oldest daughter’s downstairs guest bathroom toilet. There was clear water on the floor, all around the base of the toilet. After checking for the source of the leak, I realized that the water tank assembly, which is held to the toilet base by two bolts, had long cracks eminating from both bolt holes in the porcelin, running up both sides of the tank. Normally, I’d replace the entire toilet. That would run anywhere from $ 50 to $ 150. Using JB Kwik-Weld(It sets up in 4 minutes and cures within an hour)… I invested less than $ 10, and under an hour of labor. I unbolted the tank from the toilet, let it dry out, sanded the interior of the porcelin tank along the crack lines, and then applied the Kwik set JB Weld. It actually cured within the hour, allowing me to replace the tank, turn on the water, and successfully flush that sucker a number of times. No leaks… and a few days later, still no leaks. I absolutely love JB Weld. Both with my outboard motor fuel tank, and now the cracked porcelin issue with the toilet, I not only save huge amounts of money, but a whole bunch of time. Usually, replacing parts means sourcing out the right items, going through the purchase process, and carting stuff all over the house, garage, etc. I’ve replaced upstairs toilets, and trust me… they’re heavy, even if you carry them up and down the stairs in pieces! This time, the repair saved more than just my pocketbook… with a bad lower back, I could just see myself pulling a muscle and ending up flat for a week! I don’t work for JB, nor do I have any business connection. What I do have is allot of respect for this great product!
