Maybe it’s just me, but a new family dog should be a happy, memorable experience. We adopted a rescue dog yesterday and were so excited to have him groomed. When we came in for our appointment, I was very disappointed with the receptionist’s poor demeanor. This indelible experience kicked off with my asking basically for a simple recommendation. She must get really mad when people don’t know exactly how they want their dog’s hair cut because she immediately became defensive and snapped back with, we have to do exactly what the owner wants.(Of course I’m paraphrasing here. Didnt care to learn their recited piece) I’m not a dog groomer, and maybe she, like myself doesn’t know how to groom dogs like mine so I agreed when she suggested short. She made us feel like we were SEVERAL levels below her class. I felt like she didn’t want to even touch my dog because as she pointed out so tactfully, his hair is matted.(Thought that was the point of this appointment) When she finally found her gold mine – her excuse for not having to cut his hair, she couldn’t give him back fast enough. Since he has kennel cough, she would not cut his hair. All I know is what the vet told us which is this: he has been on antibiotics for his condition and is not contagious. I understand where she is coming from, if you don’t have a good working knowledge of medicine with animals, I guess the best thing would be to turn your customers away. Her ATTITUDE, not her decision, is why I will warn people about this place. There are WAYTOOMANY other groomers around here that know how to professionally run a business.
