Very, very poorly set up border crossing. If you are stuck in the right lane(there are two lanes) you will be slowed by people cutting in from side streets. I would say it’s at least an 8 to 10 car delay as opposed to the left lane because of this, which could easily cost you an extra hour. Moral of the story, get in the left lane from the start!

As bad as it gets.,. There is a Nexus lane, sort of. You enter one of(two) the lanes with the other regular lanes(stay far left), total two lanes, and have to merge left, eventually you will get to the Nexus lane which is still quite a ways a away. You get a bit of an idea of how messed up the entire«interchange» is by looking at some of the pics posted here. G Street View is better though. Lineups are typically on the main street(I feel bad for the residents), Sumas Way. You will almost surely get bottlenecked and stuck with everyone else(non Nexus holders) until you are very close to the booth. In reality, this Nexus lane is just optics. This crossing is used mainly by the ever so increasing residents of Abbotsford and Mission. The entire process of going to Sumas through this crossing is not only frustrating but annoying. The US Border agents there typically give you a hard time; however, returning back to Canada CBSA usually are much more«nicer:». I hope they build a Nexus lane at the Aldergrove Crossing. Even in the worst of times, the waits there are less than at Sumas.
