Their main location in Yalaha is ever so popular with everyone. This location is more of an outlet without the outlet prices. A German bakery, it’s known for it’s decadent pastries and cookies. Who doesn’t love decadent goodies? Tarts, bars, cake slices, streusels and tortes are some of the more popular pastries. What I’ve had so far was absolutely delish. The pricing is slightly high. I say that because none of it is baked there on the premises. It’s prepared at the main location then and shipped there. When they close on Saturday the leftover cookies are left in the showcases and sold when they reopen on Monday. I tried their cookies but it was in the middle of the week and they were superb.

If you’re looking for an assortment of fresh baked breads, this is the place to check out! This small German bakery in Summerfield offers something for everyone. If you’re looking to satisfy that sweet craving, they have more than enough pastries to indulge you. I decided on a Key Lime Tart and two slices of Flourless Chocolate Cake. The tart was just ok, I was looking for the key lime to be a bit more sweet and powerful and what I got was a subtle flavor that didn’t really catch my attention. On the other hand, the cake was very good and very rich! I should’ve bought some bread but that’s on my list for next time. The one that caught my attention that I’m eager to try is the Pretzel Cheese Loaf which is topped with Swiss Cheese. They also offer breakfast and lunch options which you can get to-go or you can dine at one of the few tables inside the bakery. This bakery is located in a long strip mall on US441 in Summerfield which is practically next to The Villages. If you visit their website, you can place orders that can be picked up or shipped to you which I find very convenient.

It really is a shame more independent bakeries no longer exist. The bread selection at this one was phenomenal even offering some types about which I never before heard. Get there early because around 1pm most were gone. We tried the pretzel bread with cheese, which they toasted and buttered for us. It was delicious, though butter is a food group for me and I regret not asking for more. They had cases full of sweets with two very good gluten free options /a cream berry white cake and a chocolate cake. Highly recommend! And, they offer a nice selection of gourmet food products. Many that were gluten free. They serve lunch sandwiches. Sadly, they all looked to be meat options, so they can improve in that area. Pea soup didn’t appeal to me. A great little place overall!

The store very clean and nice look. This is a Germen bakery store and they also sell meal like sandwiches. I like their cake because it doesn’t contain much sugar. They should have more item in here. You should try them.

I have been driving by for a while(since they opened), but today I needed to get a small cake for a birthday. Okay, so the birthday person doesn’t like anything with fruit in it – just very plain cakes. I did not have luck with this(actually thought a cupcake would be good, but alas none). However, I discovered a wonderful spot for the very interesting. Not your Publix or Walmart kind of bakery. :) I ended up getting a small(as in one serving) key lime pie, and it was a big hit. I will be back on the weekend when I am told they have challah bread.
